On the M61 Southbound, all lanes are closed after a truck struck a bridge between the East Lance Road and Swinton Interchange. Over on the M60 clockwise, two lanes remain shut due to a car fire between Eccles Interchange and Worsley Brow. Traffic officers have set up cones on the M61, funneling vehicles into a single lane where possible. Camera show standstill conditions building up quickly after the incident started, around 11.50 am, delays are severe, with up to 43 minutes reported on the M60 and some spillover onto the M62. Congestion stretches back to junction 10 near the Trafford Center, leaving many motorists at a standstill. An ambulance has arrived at the M60 scene and emergency services are handling both spots. All traffic was temporarily held earlier to manage the fire and bridge damage.
