M60 Standstill: Police Incident Causes Massive Delays

0:00On March 31st, massive delays hitting the M60 this morning from a police incident at Barden Bridge, right between Junction 11 for Eccles and Junction 10 near the Trafford Center. Traffic's completely stopped in both directions, turning which should be a quick drive into a standstill nightmare. It kicked off with two lanes closed on the anti-clockwise side, but by just before 1030 AM, both carriageways got shut down tight. Highway cameras are showing backups, stretching for miles already. Drivers are fuming with these huge queues, folks stuck for over 15 minutes and counting. Congestion spilling back to Junction 7 for Strefford on the clockwise stretch and all the way to Junction 15 for Swinton anti-clockwise. Greater Manchester police are on-site handling it, but they're not spilling details on what went down yet.
