Luxury Flats in Camden: Battle for Safety and Compensation

Construction Back in 2019, buyers like Dan Brewsheld out £850,000 for units at 53 Agar Grove, completed just a year earlier. Soon after, major problem surfaced from leaks and cracks to faulty windows and shaky foundations. The fight dragged on with disputes between surveyors, the freeholder, and the insurer over weather repairs were even feasible. Adding to the mess, the builder went into liquidation and experts found signs of structural movement in the building. Residents have lived in fear for years, with some convinced the whole structure could collapse. The issues have upended their lives, leaving them stuck in unsafe homes while pushing for compensation. In January, the High Court ruled the insurer must cover up to £1.5 million for repairs or rebuilding. Camden Council stepped in last year, issuing orders to fix hazards back to over 2026.
