Lululemon Fined for Spam Violations in Australia

The Australian Communications and Media Authority found the company sent over 370,000 marketing emails without an easy way for people to unsubscribe. This happened between December, 2024 and January 2025. Those emails included order confirmations and shipping updates that doubled as sales pitches with promo links. Official say businesses must keep service messages separate from anything promotional and always offer an opt-out for ads. Lou Ulim says they take compliance seriously and have already reviewed their email practices. A spokesperson noted they've updated standard guest communications like delivery notices to follow the rules moving forward. As part of the deal, the company agreed to an independent review of its spam compliance. The report back to regulators on any fixes recommended. This marks the fifth such penalty from the authority in the last 18 months.
