LTACL: Women Overshadowed? (Fr. Robert McTeigue, S.J.)

0:00This ever happened to you, you go to start your car instead of room, you know, engine noise, your lots of gears grinding and metal crunching and screeching and so on. You'd say, I was not supposed to sound like that. What if you turn on the dishwasher instead of hearing the hum and the water wishing, you hear shattering and breaking glass. You'd say, I don't think it's supposed to sound like that. And something would be very wrong. And you want to find out what it is. But what if women, in particular, mothers, they start making very enthusiastic noises, they cheer, they applaud, they excuse, they defend the killing of their own children or women killing their own children or women who might be killing children sometime in the future. Yes, of course, I'm thinking of the Lent Lindsey Clancy trial. I'm thinking of

1:00female governors signing Draconian legislation into law to permit abortion on demand, full term of pregnancy, prosecution of people who protest. And they seem so happy, they seem so excited, they seem so enthusiastic. And then mothers making tick-tock videos screaming at their children, expressing their rage and resentment against their children. I don't think it's supposed to sound like that. I think women are being overshadowed and we need to talk about it. Stay with me. I have a dark story to tell. Hi, I'm Jesuit Father Robert McTague, your host every day at the Catholic Current. Now some people are going to protest and go, ah, look at that man, man-splaining, telling women about motherhood and stress. I said, the WNBA doesn't know what a woman

2:03is. Doesn't know what a man is. Certainly a member of the Supreme Court doesn't know what a woman is. You've got medical doctors, you've got deans of medical schools testifying before Congress that men can become pregnant and give birth. So I don't want to hear it about the man with the beard is talking about mother of things and baby things. So just so that. We have something really serious to talk about. Women are killing their children, not only Lindsey Clancy, not only the copycat cases that are followed from that, not the horrifying cases preceded before that. We live in a culture where the leading cause of death for the past 10 years has been abortion, not war, not cancer, abortion. It's counterintuitive, isn't it? Isn't the most natural thing to think of is that no matter what the flaws are in a woman's character that she has a predisposition to be benign to children,

3:11especially her own children. We read in Isaiah 49-15, can a woman forget her nursing child, your son-of-compatients, or the child of a room? And apparently a whole lot of women are saying, hell yeah, you go girl, this is wrong. This is insane. I'm not aware of any chapter of human history where there was so much female enthusiasm for the repudiation of motherhood and the legitimization of the shedding of the blood of children. Something very, very basic has become broken, has become overshadowed, has become distorted. I don't know how to explain it. I have my suspicions, I have my hunches, I have my theories, but I always ask you let's take a closer look. Let's look at this together. I want to do more work raising this question, why is it in my lifetime?

4:19Women have become so enthusiastic about murdering children. This isn't right, this isn't natural, and it's certainly not of God.
