Ja: 町の選挙の日がやってきた。
En: The day of the town elections had arrived.
Ja: 遅い夏の日差しが窓から差し込み、コミュニティセンターにはまだ最近行われた盆祭りの飾りが揺れていた。
En: The late summer sun streamed through the windows, and decorations from the recently held bon matsuri still swayed in the community center.
Ja: センターは、選挙のための投票所として使われていた。
En: The center was being used as the polling station for the election.
Ja: 街の人々が次々に入っては出て行った。
En: The townspeople came and went one after another.
Ja: 投票日には、みんなが自分の一票を投じにやってくる。
En: On election day, everyone came to cast their vote.
Ja: サトシもそのひとり。
En: Satoshi was one of them.
Ja: 彼は若い理想主義の教師で、社会正義に情熱を持っていた。
