London's Crime Map: Safest & Riskiest Boroughs

Fresh home office stats show overall crime in England and Wales dipping 2% for non-fraud offenses last year. Camden leads as the riskiest spot outside central areas, clocking 180 crimes per 1,000 residents. Burglaries fell 11%, thefts 8% and homicides 6% nationwide. Meanwhile, sexual offenses rose 5%, weapons possession 6% and drug crimes surged 18%. Residents are buzzing about these rates, which divide total crimes by population for a fair apples to apples view across spots big and small. West Minsters 380 per 1,000 looks off the charts, but that's skewed by hordes of tourists versus its tiny local population. Kensington and Chelsea hit 150 per 1,000, Kensington 134 and Southwork 122. Safest is Richmond upon Thames at 58, Harrow 59 and Sutton 60.
