London Companies Fined for Underpaying Workers

Officials have ordered 49 companies to repay around 770,000 pounds to those affected. This marks a major crackdown on wage violations in the city. The largest shortfall came from BoobaCare Services, which owes $441,000 to 8,810 workers. Under notable cases include firms by KPMG and Charlton Athletic Football Club, along with smaller businesses shorting single employees up to 10,000 pounds. These repayments come directly to workers after government investigations. Across the UK, similar enforcement lets a 12.6 million pounds in fines for 389 employers. Employment rights minister Kate Deerden stressed that no workers should chase their boss for proper pay, urging companies to review their payrolls now. Current rates stand at 12 pounds 21 pence for those 21 and older, 10 pounds for 18 to 20
