In this powerful episode, I sit down with Erin Perkins, deafblind advocate and founder of Mabely Q, to talk about her journey growing up deaf, navigating school and being diagnosed with Usher’s Syndrome, a condition doctors said would leave her blind within 10 years. That was over 20 years ago!

Erin shares what it’s like to live in a world that often overlooks invisible disabilities, and how her own journey led her to shift her business to focus on accessibility education. From breaking down ableist beliefs (even her own) to teaching business owners how to create truly inclusive content, Erin is unapologetically honest and refreshingly insightful.

Erin Perkins is the CEO of Mabely Q and a deafblind accessibility educator. With limited vision and hearing (she uses a cochlear implant and hearing aid), Erin brings lived experience to her work. After years of collaborating with coaches and creative entrepreneurs, she realized how little most people understood about accessibility—especially digital accessibility. Today, she helps businesses make their content and platforms more inclusive to build trust, increase engagement, and drive retention. Erin believes accessibility isn’t a checkbox—it’s a business growth strategy.
