The show runs at Lyric Theater from Friday, April 10th at 7pm through Saturday, April 11th with performances at 1pm and 5.30pm and Sunday, April 12th at 1pm. Tickets start at $25 and you can grab them online now. This original production draws from Hans Christian Andersen's classic tale. It follows a young mermaid who's always dreamed of the surface world, forbidden until she comes of age. There, she spots a prince, falls deeply in love, and makes the bold choice to leave the ocean for him. The idea comes from NCPA artistic director Stephanie Rangel's childhood fascination. Growing up near the ocean in Florida, she was captivated by a statue of the mermaid on her dad's desk and the endless horizon. It sparked her lifelong dream to turn the story into dance.
