What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of limited resources. This episode number 870. My name is Marshall. I'm one of your limited resources and joining me online all away from Denver, Colorado, it's Luis Scott Vargas. Luis, are we look growing or spin drifting today? Those are your... I'm a spin drift enthusiast through and through. I wonder what percent globally I have what my consumption of spin drift is. I'm probably in the top 5% of people who have drunk spin drift. Wow, that's impressive. They sell that at Costco. This is like a widely distributed... I'm sure you know. No, if you were talking about household,

then I would say probably closer to top 1% or something because it's actually funny. The twins are very close to getting into the spin drift bracket. The other kids love it. We do too because it's like you don't give them juicer or whatever. Sparkling water is like a special drink as opposed to just water or milk sounds fine. So what that means is right now we have four people in our house drinking spin drift and soon to be six. Oh geez. Wow. So you really... Yeah, I drink a fair bit of it too. I love that stuff. I don't really drink soda or popper or whatever that much anymore. In fact, kind of never. And you know, my blood flows with Arnold Palmer golden colored liquid. But when I'm not, I'll have one of these. This is like a look where it's just... It's literally just the plain sparkling water one. But I'll have all the flavors kind of taste the same to me or I'll have a spinny. It's funny. You know, you know, I started the company kind of adjacent to the watch stuff, Luis Suck the Fansen. That's with my friend Alex. And Alex is also a spin drift a fishie and auto.

And what will be in the office and he'll... Is this a partnership with Chris Hansen? Chris Hansen. So Alex Hansen. Oh, okay. Why don't you and your watch come take a seat over here? Oh Jesus. No. Good God. Wow. That took a dark turn. What I was going to say is Alex will get up and he'll say you want to get spun. And that means you want to spin drift. And he even knows it. I don't like the grapefruit one. So yeah, it's a great business. If I'm feeling like in a certain way, I'll buy the grapefruit one. I'm the only person who drinks that one here. I do like it though. So if I want to make sure I have some in reserve all of that. Yeah, I have the old beer. These are two of grapefruit. I have that palette. It's like a genetic thing. I've looked it up. I can't remember. It's called super tasting or some... It has some term to it. But it's where you taste bitterness in a really profound way. And it's funny because one of the number one things for that is grapefruit. Most people can just eat it and actually just taste good,

like fresh citrusy, good stuff or whatever. But for some percentage of the population and I'm one of them, it is like unbearably bitter. I mean, it is hard to describe. It's a little like the cilantro soap thing. It is. Right. It's the same type of thing where it's like people look at the cilantro people and go, you're fine. Just it's good. It tastes... It's like no. For those people, it literally tastes like soap. Like it's a totally different experience. And anyway, I have that for grapefruit. Otherwise, I like it. Okay. So what we're going to do today, now that we've covered all the important topics, is we are going to do a cube draft critique. I am going to be the subject because I feel like I represent our viewership in many ways. That's actually back up a slight bit. Oh, powered cubes on a rena again. Oh, yeah. Today, we're going to go over the change log because... I was going to see that. Why do you got to step on me, Luis? Why do you got to... Then we're going to do the cube draft critique. I know. I don't usually talk to a Patreon yet. I'm just setting this stuff. That would usually introduce stuff in the order that we're going to do them. That's that's kind of the

traditional method. I'm going to restart and you're going to listen and you tell me if it's if I don't land the plane, then then you got it. What is up everybody? What are you drinking today? No, what I was going to say is we're going to do a draft draft critique where I represent the viewer because I think I do. In many ways, I draft a lot. I love it. But let's be honest, right? I ain't no LSV, right? I don't have that level of skill in depth of knowledge. But I think that I can mirror a lot of what our viewers do. So what we're going to do is we're going to jump into... See, Luis, where I was going with this. The brand new power cube, they just made a bunch of changes on it and it's back out on Arena Hall, Aluia. It is time to relieve us from the Hobbit. Not that it was... I still maintain that it was a totally fine checkbox set, but it is... I am so over it. I leave myself on the Hobbit weeks ago at this point. Yes, you were a little head out of the curve on that. And I am happy to leave it behind. I played a bunch of the box events and stuff. So I've had my run with the Hobbit.

And I'm like, okay, let's please give me something more exciting. And we did. We got the power cube back on Arena. So we're going to do the draft walkthrough. And also, we are going to go through the change log. We're going to talk about the changes that they made from the last iteration of powercube to this one. And we've had Zach on the show who's kind of at the helm of that. And he's... He likes to change it up. And he is not afraid to throw us new looks, new packages of cards. And I'm kind of excited to see what he's got in store for us for this powercube iteration. Before we get in all that, though, I did want to say thank you to everybody who supports us on Patreon. It's patreon.com slash limited resources if you'd like to do so. And we'd also like to say thank you to Ultimate Guard for their support of the show. That's right. They make the best stuff in the business. If you need to protect your cards, your deck, your collection, they're going to have everything needed to make sure that you can enjoy them. Sleeves, play mats, deck boxes. So you can take your cards out, play with them and not worry that they're going to get damaged. And also organize and store and protect them for the greater part of your collection that you don't take with

you to go play. But that you need on hand and that you need to make sure is safe and isn't going to get damaged, you know, sitting in a drawer or something like that. Somebody spills something. You know that they're going to be protected in a binder or a long box or something like that. Ultimate Guard, they really do this great. It doesn't happen that often, but when you can marry really great materials, which with really great design, then you can get a really great product. It is hard to do, though, much harder than you'd think at first glance. And they do a really good job of it. If you want to check out their full line of products, it's ultimateguard.com. And you can pick up their stuff at your local game store or online retailer. We've got a patreon question of the week. This comes from people who support us on patreon. I put up a thread every usually a few months or so. And then it gets populated by questions. We do one per week. And then also, I'll do separate threads for our Q&A episodes and those type of things. This one though is just a regular patreon question of the week. This one actually is a back to backer as it was a chrome mom.

Oh man, he always gets me with this chromacomacus. Chroma comacus or chromacomacus. He says, I found LR in the year of our Lord to be LSV, which is aka the Brian Wong era. That's funny. We see where now you are now part of a canonical data system. Congrats. While you've always focused on how to play magic, I've never heard you talk much about how you prefer to play the game. Given unlimited access and time, would you rather draft online or in person? For me, the anticipation of seeing good friends cracking real packs, though they've lost their smell, which that used to be a feature of our crack packs, by the way, sharing food, building a deck with real cards, etc. is just peak. But what do you prefer? And why? What do you think, Luis? I mean, my ideal way to play magic is doing a queue draft with food and friends in person. Or that's actually sorry, that's not true. My ideal way, my favorite way to play

magic is sitting down and cracking a pack at the pro tour. There you go. It's hard to beat day one of the pro tour. It's all like you're cracking your pack, you're kind of nervous, you've flown to wherever you're going, you've tested, you've submitted your deck days ago at this point, you know your draft pod. And honestly, you're hoping for a draft pod of people you don't recognize, right? That makes it like, that gives you the best chances. And you've got those three packs, the A, B and C with a little like paper around them. You know, Marshall and Paul have their gigantic copies. They're in the booth. They've been ready to go for hours at this point. We hit Starbucks on the way to the site, baby. Though if you get a good enough draft party, you get featured, which is fun too, it can all be fun to go back and look at that. And you're about ready to crack the pack. And then the best possible is you crack the pack. And there's like a good rare mythic in the colors you already want to be in the deck you want to be in. You're just like, that's only slightly behind or ahead of you get the first wheel and like a great common in your

deck and color wheeled. And you're just like, oh, this is like a card you you're like, I don't know what to take. Oh, you know, I guess like it would be like in cube where if you were like debating memory laps and manually pick one pack one and then one of wheeled or something like that. And it just that that's peak magic. But there are a lot of other fun ways to play magic too. So that's a good though. Like especially the Friday draft when it's like electric and everybody still has that feeling I could win the pro tour, right? Like I'm sitting down. Anything could happen. Oh, so good. Yeah, for me, there's two that come to mind. They're quite different from each other. So number one is and unfortunately this doesn't happen anymore. But this is my favorite. So I'm in some city. I don't even know what it is because I have to ask in the morning, hey, where are we to Rashad before we go live on the air? And it's a hotel and we're in the lobby. And BDMs there,

Maria's there, Randy's there, all the old school coverage folks. And we have no actual table to sit at. So we're kind of hovered around some little coffee table thing and everybody's in different size chairs. And we're about to do a coverage draft. You're looking around. Yeah, you're too tired. You're going to go to sleep before we even finish. And I'm picking out who the end boss at this particular coverage draft actually is. And I'm thinking, God, if I can win this coverage draft, I get to come in tomorrow morning for work and be like, you know, slept great. Everybody. And I feel like I feel like BDMs are good end boss for that because he cares a lot. He does. Yeah, he's great. So, you know, Rashad's in there trying to draft some nonsense. And those, that was peak for me. It's the, and if you really want to go deep down the rabbit hole, it's the draft after that, which we call the bad idea draft, because we know we're going to all stay up too late. Man, that's, that was live and life right there. My other is on the completely other end of

the spectrum, which is it's like Friday night. I have no plans. Now, then normally this would probably be a bad thing, but it's not always a bad thing. I got a Starbucks Arnold Palmer. I got, in fact, I happen to have one right here, a target popcorn. I'm a cube draft just went back up on arena or magic online. And I'm in the queue and it's filling. I can see it. That is, dude, that's my happy place right there. That's like all I need right there is a seven in the queue, cube draft with some, with an AP and some, and some popcorn. And I'm a happy guy. So those are, those are my two kind of extremes. That's a great question, Crom. I really appreciate you asking. Yeah. My other extreme was kind of what I led with, which was me with a bunch of my buddies here with some food on and, you know, and then some drinks and

just cubing around my dining table. Yeah. That's awesome. I want, I want like some um, smoker outside. You got some meat on the like a couple, you know, a little bit of smells are coming in. At that point, the meat will already have been done because you can't, you can't be trying to do both. But you're trying to eat while you're cubing. That's crazy. Not usually. Oh, it just, it'll kind of depend. I mean, I would do it. Okay. Um, great question, Crom. Uh, first, so before we actually jump into our cube drafts, um, the changes. What did Zach bearish due to us this time? What is he, what is he wrought upon us? Well, there's, there's some exciting stuff for sure. So the, the number one, the most exciting package that kind of came in was a bunch of Monarch cards. And this is the first time we'll have seen them. So we've got, uh, like palace jaylor fall from favor, Emberwild captain, court of bounty, which I think is usually pretty weak. What is it? It's two green green for an enchantment. You become the monarch at the beginning of your upkeep. You can put a land card from

your handle on the battlefield. And if you're the monarch, you can put a creature in play. Oh, yeah. It's fine, but, but it's not, it's not like particularly good or anything. Um, and, uh, Eriegorn and fourth year lingus. So there's just some of the cards that, uh, four thoroughly lingus. Yeah, yeah, which is, which is really nice. So, uh, just, it's cool seeing some of the cards that were used to seeing and, and, and all other cubes kind of show up. So, so does not exist before or are they just being put in now on arena? They didn't exist on arena. They were made. I mean, this is actually a good sign that a cube is, is going fairly well, I would say. Yeah, they made it. So, um, these, they're making cards directly for cube now, which is, they're not actually, they just shot that's cool. Wow. Yeah. Um, they are, they, they've done some tweaking with boros. And one of the things that kind of is funny about boros is, you know, they, they don't want it to be too good. And they like the level it's at right now as,

like, as of the last iteration. So what they're trying to do is instead of just playing every, putting every good boros card in, they just basically didn't like the, a Johnny is not in right, anymore, a Johnny Nakado Prya. And, uh, uh, uh, that's a rocket. Right. For that. I think, I think cutting crocus is total reason why I've been talking about, uh, wow, trying to caracas, uh, cut caracas or rather, not trying to because I can just do it. I've been talking about cutting crocus for my cubes for a while because I feel like, uh, that card is just a bit too obnoxious. Um, do you think it, it, uh, benefits that white deck more than others or something or is it just, I mean, it does in the sense that it is, it's better if you're playing white and the white deck has a lot of its own legends, which is nice because it protects your own legends. But it really is just good in every deck. Like it's just, it's just a messed up card. You should always put it in your deck. I mean, you could side it out sometimes if you were blue black and you didn't have any legends, I would still main deck it as a busted colorless land, but I would just side it out

if, uh, if I'm playing against someone who doesn't have any legends. Um, so they, they cut crocus. They've got, uh, they cut a Johnny. They have a full changelog that, that people, people can take a look at. They remove some of the support for artifact based aggro, which I thought didn't really work, which I think is totally reasonable for them to do. They added Thosazorical Doomsday Tainted Pact and, uh, that's kind of interesting. Relic of Soron is very cool. So this looks like a great update. Uh, if you look at the list of cards they cut, they cut a lot of bad cards as well, which I think is pretty nice. Is Relic of Soron that, that big manor rock that like lets you sift through your library or yeah, yeah, yeah, it's pretty sweet. So, but you think that they, they re-nerfed that, uh, that aggressive artifact deck. Like, this is very typical by the way of the era that we're in with, with Zach bearish at the head, is that he'll like take a shot on an archetype and then pull it or, you know, just to keep things fresh or try out different stuff. Did, do you think that they basically pulled that archetype more or

less? Well, they, they cut some of the bad stuff like rust harvest or in car. I mean, honestly, most of like the, the five manor car creature, like most of the stuff they cat, they cut that was Moonsmithy, that sort of stuff. It wasn't good anyway. So, I think the artifact deck is still totally fine. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be, but they did, uh, they did get rid of a lot of the cards which I thought people were really playing. Okay, many other notes before we, uh, no, I'm ready to get in there. I mean, we'll see kind of how things play out as we go through the cube, but it looks like, looks like it's just a good, a very reasonable set of changes to me. Okay. Cool. Well, then let's, uh, let's jump in. So again, the premise for this is I'm going to, I'm going to try to be quick because I want to hear your thoughts more, um, but, and you know, we're always under the, the clock on these drafts, but I'm going to say what I would pick and why, uh, again, trying to be brief. And then I want to just get your take on it. Just if you're like totally reasonable, go for it or here's the other card I would consider or, you know, uh, yeah.

All right. You're certainly going to say what your thoughts are, but I'll, I'll, I'll, you know, kind of analyze them from there. Great news, Luis. I have just enough gems to do drafts after getting wiped out in the, uh, in the, in the bad winter boxes. Fair enough. Okay. Pac-1, pick one, incoming. Five in the queue. Six in the queue. We're almost there. Remember, you can always check this out on YouTube as well. Uh, if you're listening audio, only I'm going to keep you abreast of what's going on. But of course, it's a little easier to keep up if you, uh, pull up the video. There's a link on lrcast.com under every episode for where YouTube episode version of it too. Okay. Pac-1, pick one. We are opened up. We've got demonic tutor, utami-o, mox diamond, light knee bolt, nodu. What else is here? Those are the ones that are standing out. So for me, I would have it down to tam-yo demonic tutor, nodu, mox diamond, into a lesser extent fiery confluence.

I would probably narrow it down to nodu or tam-yo. And I think I would take nodu. Yeah. I think that nodu is a perfectly reasonable pick here. I think, I think I would probably take tam-yo, but you could take tam-yo demonic tutor or nodu. One of the things that's great about cube is that you get to choose your own adventure. And in this case, I think that if you forced me to it, now I was playing like not a team draft because I weren't, we're not on analyze from that perspective, but just an eight player draft. Let's say, let's say the winner gets approach or invite or something big, right? Yeah. Like a high-stake strapped. What would I pick? I think I'd pick cameo. I think that tam-yo is just so, it's on par with dt and nodu in terms of power, but it doesn't really depend on very much else. I think nodu is a good pick because dt actually like the least of these three because demonic tutor relies on you having powerful stuff that you haven't seen yet. Nodu kind of does, but the stuff you want is not, you don't need to first pick a lightening groups. You can seventh pick a lightning groups, you know? Uh-huh. demonic tutor is looking

for cards that are like like power and flash and powerful combos, whereas Nodu is taking advantage of cards that are a little bit worse. Okay, I took nodu. Next pack has euro in the same vein here, lands-wise. They all look mediocre. Green cards. There's fast bond, Eseka's chariot, Springheart and Antuko. There's another goi, there's a few red cards. Gosh, this is a pretty rough pack. I guess I would take euro. I still love fast bond, even though I've been told by you that it sucks now. Man, after my heart, yeah, I would certainly take euro here. Um, that's a fact stinks, right? This pack is awful. Like, if I took Tamiya, I would probably take undercity sewers or relic of Sora on second pick. I think nodu and euro work really nicely together. Honestly, I think euro's awesome. And I think on arena, you play against agro a little bit more than you do in some of the other places you play cubes. So I would just take the euro here.

Not an ideal second pick, but a cut in blue green. And there's also chariot, fast bond and Springheart, which all of those could come back. But I think euro's just, I just think euro shores up your agro matchup a lot. He's good against mid-range and control, bad against combo usually, but it also plays out of your graveyard. There's just a lot of ways to use it. All right, pack one, pick three. There's an Emeritus of ideation. Let's see what else can I cure there? No, no, there's a guy's cradle. There's a three PI, one of my favorites, third path iconoclast. There's a days. So I guess my eyeballs go to Emeritus of ideation, guys cradle and days here. I guess I would take cradle. Cradle's reasonable. I would just take days. I think days is a really good card. I think it's early enough that you can build a manavace that supports it. It's really good with Nadu because like, you first of all, Nadu puts lands back into play, but more like Nadu can make it so the games are fast and days gets better and fast games. I struggle with cradle. It's just, it's hard. It's really hard

for cradle to hit the spot of I wasn't going to win. Cradle makes me win. I know. Because it really easily can hit the spot of I needed to top deck a land. I drew cradle, no creatures in play. Oh god. And it can also pretty easily be like, wow, I'm crushing and I have a cradle. Now I'm really crushing. Yes. I'm not as interested in the third portion. That's a win more. The second one really concerns me drawing cradle in my opening hand and not being able to cast something. So yeah, it can be difficult to hit that exact spot where you're getting value, but okay. I took days. I like that. That makes a lot of sense to me. And I'm glad to know that. Pac-1 pick four. Wow. So there's only one card that really stands out to me. And that's gut. The true soul zealot. There are other cards in this pack. There's a smuggler's copter. There's a Leo Volt. If I want to try to, I don't know, do some pile in that way. There's a Mischievous workshop, which I know will catch Luis's eye. There's also an Oly font. But I view this pack as a bit of a punt. And I guess I can consider smuggler's copter, but I'm not as big of a fan of it. And I would actually just take gut.

Yeah, I love your pick here. Gut is just the only good card in the pack. So you should just take the good card and not just keep it simple. This is a pretty bad spot, but you know, what are you going to do? You should just take you shouldn't be hanging onto the first three cards. So fiercely, you'll take a bad card. I mean, so there's not a bad card, but it's not a great card over gun, which is a very good card. Maybe you'll draft humor. Who knows? Yeah, totally. Okay. Next up, there's what oh, this is the new Gandalf. That's kind of funny. It's the two and a red two three. You know, kind of prowessy one. Again, that's in red. There's a Tamiya collector of tails. There's a hedge maze. There's a zio tors proving ground. There's also a fabled passage, a braid, and a young pyromancer. Wow, this is a cool one. Also, there's a jace wheelder of mysteries and we did see Oracle before. Let's see, is Tamiya good in a deck like this? Probably not. I think I'm looking at one of these lands here. Maybe I would just take hedge maze. Yeah, I think just taking hedge maze.

This good I view as pretty speculative. If it works out, it works out. And you could certainly be a a team or mid range deck, but I would just take the hedge maze for now and see if you can. I remember you saying that you like to have one of these surveil one. I love the surveil. It's also great with arrows. It's just good in general. Yeah. Okay. Next up is pack one picks six. There's a miscalculation. There's the goat oust. There's also ren in six, which can get kind of interesting, but my eye goes to the prismatic vista. Yeah. Here. There's a prismatic vista. There's a miscalculation. I think I would just take the the vista here because miscalculation is okay, but not really what your not-o-deck wants so much. And also, fetch lines are just so good in this deck. So that that seems like the plan to me. That's what I was thinking too. You know, it helps with ERO and of course, manifesting with miscalculation. I like it a little bit more if I'm trying to be reactive primarily where this deck at least so far, it looks like it like we want the days to protect the

nodule stuff or to protect a big thread. It's not really about like trying to just stop or approach. Fetch lines are also just awesome. Yeah. The ren in six probably doesn't come back, but it's not inconceivable. Oh, wow. Okay. So pack one picks seven. There's some nice cards here, but there's a freaking scalding turn in this pack. Yeah. I mean, this is going to be easy scalding turn. That's even the right fetch for you. Right. Because it gets your blue green land and can help cast this gut. Of note, there is a felia in the pack. I think felia is a premiere white card. I think it's really good. There's also a consider and a consult with star charts, two blue cantrips and an elvish mystic. So I would certainly take turn, but it's good. It's a good sign to see an elvish mystic seventh along with a couple blue cards though. The felia here also makes it look like white is open. So, you know, in general, where you add on to fairy hero of dominaria, that's the five mana one. Not too important. I mean, it's a card I'll take if I'm of blue white control deck, you know, but just so few decks really care about getting that card. This is one of the rewards for

being ingredient. You got an eighth pick once upon a time. That card is just sweet and ably good. Wow. I wasn't sure if I was going to say it's a senior incredibly. I said both kind of, but it is just a great card. It's zero mana. Look at the top five cards. It's like a mega cantrip. Yes, if you draw it later, it costs two, but in your opening hand, it's just so good. It can help you find the birds of paradise to play on turn one or the forest to play the birds or the nodule to play if you have the forest in the birds. Like it just, it's exactly what green wants. That's right. And this package is pretty mediocre. Otherwise, there's vibrance, crevamanation, tendrils of agony, jitte, exercise, nightmares, enlightening helix. So just kind of a bunch of more mediocre stuff. All right, here's our wheel pack. So this is what we're getting back, pack one, pick nine. And well, it's not much. There is a card that I really like here. Staff of the storyteller. I've been pretty high on that one for a while, but it doesn't, it seems a little difficult to get white going. There's a jet mirrors card in Frantic Search. I mentioned fiery confluence in my, you know, upper echelon of that first pack pack. And it is still here. So I

guess I would just take it. Yeah, I would certainly take fiery confluence here. You've gotten a couple outstanding red cards in two fetches. We'll see, we'll see where this goes. Yeah. And that's, okay, I'll talk about that in a second. Pack one, pick 10. So we've got Glen O'Lendra Guardian, the Asikas chariot and the spring heart and Antuco both came back. The two lands aren't really of interest. I guess I would take the Nantuco just because it's too manner. Yeah, I like Nantuco. It's really good with Nado. I mean, what does it do with Nado? It's good. It's good. Oh, because of the landfalls coming in all the time. Well, you bet two things. One, when you bestow it triggers not to, oh, cradle wheeled. Yeah, I would take cradle over Emeritus of ideation and goldspan dragon because you just took spring heart, spring heart cradle. Right. We're getting somewhere. Right. I actually do feel that green is open, even if some of the packs have been a little weird. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, this is interesting. So I'll give you a quick recap. We've got days once upon a time spring heart and Antuco gut Nado,

euro, fiery confluence, and then a hedge maze, Avista, a scalding tarn and a cradle. Pack one, pick 12. There's a Pyride spell bomb, a glimmer lens, a figure of destiny and a scrub land. I don't think any of these are going to be relevant. I guess I just take spell bomb or something. I don't know. Yeah, I think so. Just I'm putting a right in the sideboard to be honest. There is a very small chance you might board it in. So here it's, who is the tors proven ground versus a braid? Yeah. Proving ground is a duel for me. Yeah, I think I would just take the proven ground. It's nice having a red green duel. Yeah. Now you got a mole man, a moleaued master. You're not there yet, but is that even good? You never know. What does it do? Oh, it's someone that lets you play land. Yeah. And then the Luis Scott Vargas special. It's a Romanox excavator. Yes, last big saddle, except instead of a, instead of being bigger, it's just, it's a one one, but it makes a one one whenever you play land. Wow. Here's an interesting pack. Pack two, pick one. Jason Minescult or Fairy Mastermind Flash. There's Lotus Petal, broadside bombardiers.

And then there's some good cards and other colors like toxic day luge and that type of stuff. But for me, I'm immediately, oh, there's also Wheel of Fortune. I'm immediately looking at Flash and broadside bombardiers and trying to figure out, okay, am I actually playing red and am I playing that kind of more middle groundish broadside bombardier stack or do I want to go for the extreme upside still early in the draft of Flash? And I think I would go for Flash. Yeah, definitely want Flash. And sorry, so bombardiers is what I meant. Oh, you want one? Great. You're just red green beats. You haven't seen any, any of you good blue cards. You got pat, you open an auto, took an arrow and then took a days, so I know other blue cards. You have to cut and Fairy, Cut and Fairy confluence are both excellent. Just take bombardiers. Okay. So this is a great, still play not to. I think this is a leak in my game because I am still of the mindset, even at this pack to pick one of trying to go for like these high upside picks, like I did in pack one. But you're saying, no, just settle in. Like it's right there for you. And bombardiers is one of the best cards. That's great. Okay, so I took broadside bombardiers.

Next pack has, oh, there's Mystic confluence. I love that card. Let's see. Seer. What is, oh, yeah, overwhelming surge, territorial, Kavu. I mean, maybe I just take that. There's also environmental scientists, which I assume will wheel. And then it tells me in Utopia sprawl. That actually could be pretty good too. I assume that either environmental scientist or Kavu would wheel. If I'm moving away from blue, I don't think I can take the confluence. Can I just take Utopia sprawl here? That'll probably wheel too. Is isn't really how I look at it. In fact, I think I would just take Malcolm. You can just be Timer. Like you have a Tarn, you have a Tarn in a Vista in a Hedramese. You already have a really good start to that. Blue being cut doesn't mean you shouldn't drop blue. It just means I don't think you're going to be straight blue green. I think red is open. Okay. A gut like what, fourth or something. And you got fiery confluence on the wheel. Yeah. So I think I would just take cards that go towards that. And like here, there's another fetch land here and you can just set yourself up nicely. Okay. So now we've got an interesting

one. This is pack two, pick three. And there's a flooded strand, which would, which would fit nicely in the theme. But man, this creamy nemesis is jumping off the screen to me. Like if I'm trying to be red green beats, this thing is, I mean, if you're ever on the other side of streaming nemesis, it's like the most annoying threat that they can have. Should I consider it here? No, I would take flooded strand. It already gets hedge maze. All you have to do is find a red adjacent land and it's just like a tricolor land. I just think cards like screaming nemesis are a dime a dozen. Like, okay, so I'm overrated. Bombardier. Both better. I'm, yeah, exact. I do agree with that. So I'm overrated. I would take, definitely. I would take brainstorm out of this pack over screaming nemesis. But I think you should just take flooded strand. Okay. Then I maybe, this is probably me falling for the, it's really annoying. But maybe it's not. That doesn't mean that it's really, really good. Okay. Well, here's another interesting one, Luis. Packed too far. It's not too interesting. It's great. Okay. So there's chandra torch of defiance. There's a channel.

There's a fractured identity. There's a new smog. But there's also lightning grieves. There we go. And we want to keep this dream alive. So do I need to just bite the bullet and take the light in grieves? I think if I'm sitting in my draft seat without Luis there, I do. I just, I just, I don't know, maybe this isn't the right term, but I kind of just check it out and take the light in grieves because it's so important to the nod do side of things. But also, there's a part of me that thinks I'm supposed to be able to wheel the card like that since I'm the one that has an audio and nobody else wants light in grieves. Too greedy. Yeah, I would just take the grieves. I don't think it would be interesting if there was like a really great card for you in the pack. But I think here you should just take the grieves lock that up and just low key. Huh. Low key God of mischief is in this pack. When a player permanent becomes a target of an ability you control draw card this ability goes to once you check it. Low glee grieves does draw a card, but I think I would just probably take generous plunder or that's funny. That's really for author inspire bird something like

that. Yeah, so generous plunder does definitely fit the slightly more aggressive and it also gets our mana okay and then the verge is it's just fine. I would take the generous plunder here I think. Yeah, it plunder is also really good with both broadside and gut giving you a treasure to sacrifice to turn to plunder make a treasure play gut attacks act the treasure that's a lot of damage. Yeah. Maybe low key or author inspire will wheel as well. Those are not particularly high picks. Ooh, pack two picks six some interesting stuff here. There's a botanical sanctum in the Lancelot. There's a burst lightning which is you know really good and flexible, but oh boy, Questy B is here. I would slam questing beast. Oh, I would take botanical sanctum. Okay, good. See, this this is why I want to do this. So once again, I want to know why am I overrating questing beast or am I underrating my man like am I overrating my mana situation is the mana situation because questing beast is totally fine. I would be happy to put that card in this deck. I just think it's

about the same as a seka's chariot which I know you already passed on. Oven walled oddity like. Okay, it's not that different whereas untapped blue green land and you're not who agrees deck is great. Now here's a card which actually really I'm high on. Emeritus of abundance. That's the two in a green three four that comes prepared to cast regrowth. It has been one of the attacks with eight lands and play comes prepared again. I think Emeritus of abundance is quite strong. Good way to use guys cradle mana. Good way to get back like a key piece and just just good card. It's kind of like Sentinel of the nameless city, you know, the three mana three four that makes map tokens. Yeah, just a really really burly value creature. Totally. I've had good experiences with this and it'll work really well with the time walk that we're going to open in the next pack too. Pack two pick eight. Thunder trap trainer endurance leatherhead nissa who shakes the world. Those are our realistic options here. I don't know. I guess I would just take endurance or something. I know none of these really. Yeah, I think endurance is good. It's a lot worse in best of one.

I actually would just take leatherhead probably. Okay, in best of three, like, here's another one. Leatherhead is I think very comparable to questing beast. Yeah, I was way over rating questing beast. I'm probably in two years ago mentality with it where it was, you know, hitting a lot harder. Also, leatherhead of the greaves build your own questing beast. There you go. Fact two, pick nine. So this is our wheel pack. There's a zagoth triumph here. So that does cover two, cover two of our colors. I guess I would take it. Very mastermind. I mean, it's not that good because you already have botanical saying or sorry, hedge maze, which is already a tapped fetch. Uh-huh. Okay, we did wheel. Actually, all three, the utopia sprawl of the environmental scientist and the territorial cove. This is a good spot for environmental scientists. You have gut and bombardiers. It's really good to both those cards. Yeah, it converts to a 401 with guide and it does four damage with bombardiers. It's a two drop fixes your mana gets your red mana. I like that more than utopia sprawl. I think sprawl not being a mana dork for cradle or to sacrifice to those things. I think is a pretty big deal. Yeah, I think so too. I just don't have any ones right now. Like my deck is really suffering

on that pack to pick 11. There's really not nothing here, I guess. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Now every single card in this pack, it's sunflower, no more lies and three white duels. You can just take whatever you want. It does. That's a pack for Cheon. All right, uh- training com compound, compound came back. So there's the land that taps for a colorless or taps for red or green if you have a basic, which is okay, but not amazing. There's also a quarter bounty, which is the the monorac card. I guess they take the monorac card. Yeah, I would too. I don't like those lands all that much. Wait a minute. Emmer cool. Now, is it cool? Can I court of bounty it in? You could. Yeah, I would take Emmer cool. Maybe you put sneak attack in your deck or something. I just don't think it's overloke. Got a mischiff and I don't think that's that good. Oh, here's an ethos follow-on that you're also not going to play that either. Okay, so right now we have days Malcolm generous ponder. Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Your draft is a is constantly refreshing. All right, days Malcolm generous ponder. Broadside bombardiers. Gut. Emeritus of abundance. Nado. Uh-oh. Lightning

grieves. Uh-oh. You have Springheart and Antucos. Another two drop. You have a cradle, which looks okay. Oh, once upon a time, don't have any mana dorks. Like that, and that was one thing that utopias brawl would be decent at fixing, but no birds of paradise or higher arcs or any of those things. I'm a 10 years old. Which is kind of unfortunate. Yeah, uh, hopefully we get into pack three here because uh, it would be nice to pick to pick something up. You have a pretty good land situation. No untapped duels. So you could use Tiger or Trollplow and pretty badly, but you've got fetch lands. You've got flooded strand prismatic beast of scalding tar and you have some tapped blue green duels. So, you know, we've got we've got outs, but uh- All right, we are in with three seconds. We did get sneak attack JVP. I guess I would take side cat cub, I think. You would what? You have, I would take side cat cub. You have no spells for Jace. Okay. And you have three fetch three fetch lands for the cub. Yeah, I like 10 seconds. That was like a panic. Yeah, it's not like an amazing opener. Oh, here's another interesting one. So this is pack three pick two. Uh, there's

mana drain. So one of the best, you know, blue slash counter spells around. There's also show and tell, which is kind of funny because we did get that emerald cool. There's also mana leak. And there's also blood stain myer VV or nitiae, which I don't think really goes into this deck. It feels a little more creature based. Um, and then there's like wolverine and a molten core mice or whatever. Probably will overeen, honestly. Yeah, I think I would still just take mana drain, but does my mana support it? Should I take mana leak? You stick mana leak. The way this deck's gonna play, I think mana leak is gonna be better. So I have a much better chance of casting mana leak when I want to cast it. You're just not gonna, if you had a tropical island and a steam vents or something, I would feel a lot better about the drain. You just don't have as many on, don't have any untapped blue tools yet. Man, this is, this has been really insightful, Luis. Uh, today I learned I'm greedy. Like you just did me one leg and then mana leaks over mana drains over and over again. It's true. Yeah, I mean, these are subtleties, but I mean, you know, these are the differences,

right? Like when you get into the match. All right, pack three, pick three. There's a snapcaster mage, a couple of talismans. What is that? Oh, ravager, a green sun zenith, and there's also malevolent rumble. I would take rumble. I don't know if I'm supposed to take green suns because of naughty or no rumble by mile. It's good with euro. It helps you find the naughty stuff. You have a meritous of abundance as a regrowth. Like I think rumble looks excellent here. Okay. Unfortunately, no power. No. The thing you really want to pick up over the next couple packs, if you can, is just any sort of mana dork, but we haven't, we haven't really been presented with that. I don't, I don't think we've even seen one besides the utopia sprawl. Yeah, we saw the one elf. Remember? Oh, Elvish Mystic. We took Scotland Tarnover. Yeah, exactly. Um, pack three, pick four. I think his days are over, but we've got primeval Titan, elder guard. I don't know why they added that one back. And I didn't realize that until now I didn't look through the whole log.

Yeah. There's a spiked up here, which is just kind of raw power. I think that's where I would go. There's a suplex, I guess, but meritous of conflict. That's the lightning bolt one, right? Yeah, I would take a stock up stock up. It just always is so awesome. It just gets you what you need, no matter what. All right. Next up, uh, there is room. Hulk is in apparently. Uh, world war. Wow. That is a old move. Um, pack three, pick five. There's a remand, a subtlety, world war Hulk somehow. Uh, what is this arch nemesis? I don't know what that does. There's a, uh, marsh flats, neck romance. Yeah, I would just take subtlety. I don't know if I have enough blue cards for it. Um, maybe romance. Okay. No, I like remand more. This looks like a good remand deck. You actually, yeah, it's funny. I've not seen as much red now, but it's, it's fine. I think your man is going to support just playing all three colors here. Yeah. How do you feel about my manner, right? Have I checked the box on that yet? Or there's a reading? Getting a breeding pool here is really nice. So I have it. So you haven't yet, but breeding pool goes a

long way. The, the, the three things this deck is missing are a breeding pool, a tiger and a linoleves, but you know, we'll start with the breeding pool. Okay. I'm actually having them into good two man encounters goes a long way. You don't need to go one into three. You can just on turn two cast your two man encounter than cast your three drop on three. I think this is interesting. Uh, one of the things that I'm picking up from this discussion is trying to figure out when your man is good enough when you can stop, you know, that, that, that, that is a, a really interesting inflection point. Um, pack three, pick seven quantum redler. I actually liked that a lot. Uh, Sauron, Dino, Devote, I don't know what that does. Riddles in the dark, that's the new mini factor fiction. Um, I would take quantum redler. Yeah. Riddler's fine. I do. Bombard ears. Yeah. My career. You worked the river and then throw it with bombard ears. Oh god, for seven. Yeah. I'm in for that. Yeah. That seems good. I also need to make sure I hit playables here. Ooh, Lanoore elves and ignoble hierarchy in the same pack, pack three, pick eight. This is actually our last chance to get one of these one man and over here is incredible. Yeah.

Wow. What a pickup. Shores up our red manna a little bit and gives us our only one drop as well, which is sad that this deck is going to be a step slow, but like you said, hopefully we can use a little bit of tempo. Wow. Sneak attack came back. Pack three, pick nine. There's also a vine stock that jays, like you said, not fully supported and a billbo thief in the night. I can sneak attack the emerald cool, but I really don't have much else to do with that. Yeah. Can I try billbo? You're jace and billbo are both kind of, I mean, I can see you have a rumble. I'll just take jays, sure. That's an I would be awesome. That one's close. I don't know. Here's show and tell. They just want me to get this emerald cool. There's a crang, a shadow spear. There's just not really anything here. Yeah. You're not playing any of these cards. I'm just going to take show and tell them put it in the subordinate. Let's see here. Snapcaster mage, Evora. You know, snapcaster. No, I take Evora. Evora with all the with all your sacks

stuff is actually pretty good. Yeah. It just creates material on two that I can throw to gutter bombardiers. Primeval Titan wheel. There is lava spurt boost, but I don't want two things. No, I think I think grieves is enough for an auto, especially your deck isn't really going to want lava spurt boost, really, in any other context. So I'm going to take primeval Titan, Luis. All right. Do your prime time. There wasn't anything else anyway. I'll take arch nemesis so that I can read it later because I don't remember what it does or maybe I just don't know. And then there's a silver carrier to sure. I'm not going to take empty the cheons and then a lingering sols. Okay. So that was fast and furious. I'm going to give you the recap of where we sit right now and thank God that server hiccup didn't cost us. I really, even if we couldn't make the last pick, I wanted to see what our options were or the first pick and back three. Like it just feels like such an incomplete story if you don't even get to see it. Okay. So right now we're at 45 cards,

sorry, I have the emerald cool in here, 44 cards. We've got ignoble higher at one. We have no zeros and one one. This is a big, big problem. Right? Like if you're looking at this, aren't you, you're concerned at this curve, right? Luis, like just big picture perspective. Yeah. You really would have liked another one man of play. Yeah. Okay. Our twos and there are a lot of them are days. Jason's Vince prodigy Malcolm Manelique remand to red cards, generous plunderer and Evora. And then the rest are greener colorless. It's environmental scientist, malevolent rumble once upon a time, side cat cub, spring heart nantuko, Sylvan Carriedtid and lightning grieves. The threes are stock up, prodside bombardiers, gut, the meritus of abundance, mole man, nodu and euro. And then the four is our fiery confluence, court of bounty, leather head swamp stalker. And then our fives and sixes are quantum riddler and primeval titan for lands. We have the cradle. Sorry, say again, the tight. You're not going to put primeval titan. Okay,

for lands. We have cradle botanical sanctum breeding pool hedge maze zeatory's proven zeatora's proving ground. Zeigoth trium flooded strand prismatic vista and scalding tarn and then some number of basics will be in there as well. And we may even cut. I don't know. Do we want to cut one of these triumphs or something? I don't know. But we've got three cards. We can't cut the Zeigoth trium because you have the zeatora's is what you want for. I don't want the blue. You already have hedge maze. So you would cut your first second blue green trium over your first red green trium. Okay, so you're comparing, do I would or have those two versus one of each and it's one of each? Okay, that makes sense. So I cut that. But we saw three cards to cut. Is jace for ins prodigy a thing in this deck? Graveyard feedings nice, but otherwise it's just kind of straight up value. It can cast molovalent rumble and stock up and firey confluence. Those are the three cards. Wow, that's rough. That's really rough. I mean, yeah, I mean, you have to cut three more

cards. I would certainly cut the jace. I think I would keep molo molo and molo and master because you have three fetch lands. And you have the two different sacrifice things gut and bombardiers. And the rumble nice. Oh, rumble also puts lands in your greenery definitely. What about side cat cub? Like, am I enough of a landfall? A couple of cubs looks great here. Okay, is it just the three fetches that check that box or yeah, yeah. Okay, and it's good of not it's a good it's another combo if not it goes really hard because every time a land comes in, you triggers it again. So what about a court of bounty? Yeah, I'm looking at cutting court of bounty. And I guess maybe you just cut molo man actually at the end of the day. Okay, I think that's going to be the cut. Okay, so that and then land wise, like, how do you go through? So we've got seven non basics, eight non basics. How do you figure out what the what the other ones are?

Like right now, arena is suggesting five mountains to islands to forests. So the way I bit typically build these kind of man of base is I put in the minimum of my other lands. So you probably want two islands and you probably want two mountains. That's like the minimum. And then I would and the rest of my basics want to be forests because you want this deck. I mean, just like every green deck just about you have ignoble hair, you have silven carrier, like you, you're malevolent, rumble, environmental scientists. Your first green is really important. So you're probably going to run two mountains to islands and the rest forest. But we'll see where that takes us. It might that we might want one more red because right now this is five forests plus botanical sanctum breeding pool, flooded strand prismatic beast of sculling turn. The fact they can get untap lands is great. So that's 10 untap green, which is actually about where I'd want to be. Okay, for blue, you've got two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine blue. So you probably are like one over on blue. Yeah, and red is also five. Red has probably six. Wait, did you cut the ziatoras?

You just want to cut ziatoras, not ziatoras. I did. Or sorry, cut ziatoras. Other way around. Okay, yeah, I want the red. I want the one with red. Yeah, okay. If you didn't have hedge mades, you'd play the ziatoras, but you do. So got you got you. So now you got four, five, six red sources. So yeah, I would play one more red probably and and cut an island and one less blue. You don't have a second island to fetch for or quantum riddler, but I think that's okay. That's funny, but I'll probably get away with it. I got the sanctum, the pool, the hedge mays. Okay, so there's our deck. What do you think of it? I mean, I think this deck's okay. It's okay. You didn't open it amazingly well. Yeah, I think this deck, it's main thing that it's missing is like a free card, like a force of will. Yeah, not that you have tons of blue. It would be really or a mocks or something, but it would be really nice to have another manadork where I do think your matchups are good. I think ero, nado, emeritus, leatherhead, fiery confluence are pretty good against aggro,

and you've got some good two drop acceleration. If you don't have the ones, you also have some good counters against combo decks. I think this deck's totally fine. Okay. Yeah, and this, of course, the two things that stood out one are about how the draft went itself, which is, you know, we didn't open any power. There's there was no obvious lane for oh, the broken blah, blah, blah deck is there. So fair enough, a lot of drafts end up like this where you have to kind of make something work a little bit more towards the middle end of the spectrum and where you don't have, you know, those huge hammer cards, you know, that are just the best stuff. And you know, this is why when you watch Luis's draft videos, he's like, oh my god, I open power again because you don't always, right? You sometimes your deck looks like this and you don't have power. The other thing that stood out is more about me, which is really interesting. The two things were one, I'm greedy. Like, I was pushing for the more powerful option and not really taking stock of where I was at and maybe saying, okay, well, you don't actually need that here. Like just take the man a leak. Like you'll be

able to cast it almost every time where if you go for a man a drain, which is like, that's a card that draws you in. I mean, look at Luis's roto drafts. Like that card goes really high. You know, but you know, if your man is not going to support it, then, then, you know, you're just being greedy by taking it. And the other one was having a better feel for when my man, at what point I need to be prioritizing man or not, right? Like when we got to that last pack, there was some decent card in the pack and you're like, sweet breeding pool go, you know, and it was like, okay, and you had mentioned in pack two that I needed a card like that, like a regular dual land or a shock land to fill that roll. So when you saw it, you're like, let's go. We got there versus me who was like, oh, there's this shiny, shiny toy off in the corner and maybe I'm looking at that because we had already dedicated a lot of picks to our manna. And I was kind of thinking, yeah, our manna looks actually fine. But for you, it was a very clear not fine. Okay, so those are the takeaways that I had. Let's do

the thing about your manna is actually a little bit subtle, which is you had the right colors, but with Zegoth Troum, Hedgemay, Ziataurus, Proving Ground, three fetch lands, you didn't have the duels. Like I still feel like not having tiger or stomping ground could be a pretty big liability. And that's why you like the breeding pool so much when it showed up. That's why I thought the breeding pool was like a really important pick. Okay, so it wasn't necessarily like colors, right? You just didn't have enough of the right, like the compliments to the fetches. Is that the thing? You didn't have the targets for the fetches. Yeah, that's the main thing. Okay. Well, we're going to jump into a traditional, there's currently six in the queue. It looks like and we'll see how this next one goes. So this is really great, Luis. I especially, you know, the inflection points are the ones where I say, okay, I'm going to do this because a lot of the picks, I would narrow it down. I would say I'm going to go with this and you would either say, yeah, that sounds good or you'd say, yeah, you could do that or this other one, but it's like kind of whatever. But the good stuff is when I go, I want to take this and you're like, no, like you

should definitely be thinking, you know, in these terms. And I think those are the more eye-opening spots. Okay. Another draft arena. Yeah, we got another one, another one, seven in the queue. Well, there's eight in the queue, but seven ready. There's always one who has to let, you know, 35 seconds kill from the clock before they hit it. They're there will. But they just did. All right, let's open up something sweet here. Pack one, pick one. Okay. Well, there is a tinker. There's also remand, Zeran Orb, which is, I kind of have a soft spot for, but would never first pick a bunch of red cars, screaming, emphasis, magda, blah, blah, blah. I would just take tinker here. Yeah. Again, my life, I process, Luis is almost always and maybe too much as I've learned today to go for the upside. I think Tinker is a great pick here. I'm not the biggest tinker fan, but I still think pick one pack one is better than remand. And there's no other card here that I think would be a reasonable pick. I do like Zeran Orb a lot,

way more than most people. It's good with titanium. It's good with bailout prime. I guess this cube does not have bailout prime. Not unless they put it in this version. No. Yeah. No, they did not add it. So it's just titanium here, but I don't think you should first pick a remand or tinker. And I think tinker is a totally fine first pick. Like you got, you got your direction, you know, we'll see if this pans out. You're allowed to walk away from these things. Like I totally, I never get married to the potentially going to walk away from Nado, but then it ended up that we didn't need to. I think in this case, if you, if you see a john, well, I guess a Johnny's not in, if you see a parallax wave, you could take that. If you see an in tomb, you could take that. You don't have to go down the tinker route, but obviously tinker can be pretty good. Yeah, totally. And this is one that I'm much more, you know, Nado is tempting to keep regardless, but tinker, I'm perfectly willing to just chuck. I don't care. All right. Pack one, pick two. What do we got? World spineworm show and tell, Palantir coalition relic. No really great lands. There's another

gut here. Yeah, this is funny because it's kind of like the last one, but I would actually just take gut. Yeah, I would too. I just think pinnacle emissary, gnar set coalition relic are just not strong enough to pass up on gut. And you know what? Gut and tinker can actually go in the same deck just fine. It's not going to be like the typical deck, but if you have enough cheap artifacts to sacrifice to gut, those are the same things you want for tinker and vice versa. That's true. Yeah. And I just think you should take the best card a lot of the time in the first couple picks, especially when the best card is a lot better for your deck. Like if this pack had a prior day, I would just take prior day. That card's good enough that I could pass up on gut. I don't think gnar set riddles in the dark or the coalition relic or pinnacle emissary are good enough. They're not giving you any sort of signal. Getting past gut is a bit of a signal at least. Yeah, I'll mind just kicking the can down the road on a pick or two. Like that's fine by me, but when there are like really powerful stuff. I mean, I this deck could be anything still. Okay, pack one

pick three. Uh-oh, there's a mox opal for Louise quantum riddler balance in the pack as well. Yeah, those are the cards that stand out. Mox opal, I, a mox opal. I love quantum riddler and balance. Are there any artifacts of note? And there's a talisman. Wow. I mean, there's a mox opal. Yeah. Um, wow. This is a really close one. I think if I'm sitting here by myself, I think I take mox opal actually. Yeah, yeah. I like it. Is that too aggressive? No. Mox opal is a directionally, you know, valuable card. Like it, it is a good sign that you're getting a third pick mox opal. In the artifact decks, it's like a glee mox. It's a five color mox. It's incredibly broken. Obviously, you have to support it, but it's great with tinkered. It's great with gut. It's just like this is what you want. So, okay. But now I'm leaning even more towards the artifact. The end of things, which is good. But I mean, yeah, your first big tinker. That's a reasonable place to be. Yeah. And like you said, gut does work with those and gut is red. And typically,

these decks have some amount of red of them. If you want to get, you know, third path iconoclast or what was that thing that we opened? Okay, pack one pick four. Let's see, there's a library of Alexandria. There's a candle lobby of Tana's. Oh, cool. They put together as one in here. Oh, there's a polluted delta. So artifacts wise, there's just candle lobby. Straight value, there's library, which I really love. But this looks more like I put my cards on the table type of deck. So I think I would just take polluted delta and just have faith that it does. I know you probably get back a candle lobby or a red card. There's three reasonable red cards. Well, I mean, there's Shandra suplex. And I don't really know about this new Gandalf card. But yeah, it's a goblin's bane one. We'll have to see. Yeah, it's a possibility. So yeah, I would just take, I would just take polluted delta here. It's a blue fetch kind of deferred the decision. Like you're a little hard. You obviously have two artifact cards and just good. But with the right

set of cards, if you get manly into fiery confluence and the chain lightning and a Malcolm, you're just a blue red deck. And that's totally fine too. How do you feel about tinker? I'll ask you that in a minute. Pack one, pick five. There's a people. I love that expedition map. Man, there's a lot of support for Academy here. We just don't have the Academy. There's chain lightning stomping ground kind of interesting and a dig through time. So I guess my eyes go to chain lightning and dig through time. And I think I would just take chain lightning. What do you think? I would definitely take chain lightning. It's just a good early interaction. Yeah. If you end up red, I grow. It's great. If you end up in artifacts, still fine. The other card to note that is expedition map. Not that you should take it here, you probably will get it back. No one's open to Academy. So you're kind of set up for that.

But it's just too early to be taking cards like map and there's can't a lot of them. There's can't a lot of them in the previous pack. It's like the same thing applies to. Okay. This is a really interesting pick. Yeah. So there's luchry. There's a thundering falls. And there's also a chromatic star. There's also just good cards here. Barrel Goifs really good. There's a badlands and a colagons command. So to me, yeah, this is really tough because I really like luchry, but I like free spells with it. I don't have any of those yet. Thundering falls. I just need it. And then chromatic star would go perfect in this deck as well. I think I would check it out a little bit and take the thundering falls. What do you take? I'm Simon chromatic star here. You're going to commit a little bit here. Well, if you end up in artifacts, it's incredibly good because it turns on Opal and it's good with tinker. But it's also fine and blue red with gut. It's just a good card to sacrifice to cut. Oh, it's a gut head. So it's like a nice little hedge. I also think taplands are just not super high on my priority list. Okay. So, okay. I took it. This pack is juicy. There's a

Jace Frins Prodigy and a Malcolm 2, 2, 2 drop discarders. There's Sternscolding. There's Lorean revealed and there's Woodenfoot. Wow. Not to mention a torston, if you wanted to be in the flash sort of deal and a trumpeting carnassaur if you wanted to put a bad card in your deck. So I wow. I would take Woodenfoot Hills, but I need to know what you think. I would just take Woodenfoot Hills. You're going to be blue red. You do need a blue red duel at some point. It's definitely true and passing the Thundering Falls is costly. But I think chromatic stars really good and I would I think Woodenfoot Hills is great. What's second here? If you don't take the, is it Jace Malcolm, Sternscolding, or the Lorean revealed? Okay. Lorean revealed is an underrated card. I think Lorean revealed is really, really good. Man, and that's two of the like free cards for the pitch spells that we don't have. Pac-1, pick eight, Brazen Barrower, expressive iteration. And that's about it out of this pack. I love Brazen Barrower, but I wonder if this deck actually wants expressive iteration. Let's see, we actually still only have one blue card. That's funny. I like iteration.

You've got, if you play artifacts, you'll have some zeros. It's really good with those. It helps get your game plan going. Honestly, even if we don't end up in artifacts, I think we've got a good start, but I actually kind of feel like artifacts is going to pan out in pack too. We'll have to see. The biggest sacrifice we've made so far is taking chromatic star over Thundering Falls in service of that. I think you had to take the Mox Opal. So there is a world where ditching a little bit earlier and just taking Opal or taking Thundering Falls over chromatic star would put you in a better spot. But I kind of have faith in this pack. There's two dragons. There's Gordbringer and Magnetic Helkite, but Reckon or Binkbuster came back around. I think I would just pick that up. I'm in. I'm in for the bankbuster. Yeah. That jumped off the screen to me. I mean, it's totally artifacts. It's value. Yeah. And you know, I glory bringers fine. Magnetic Helkite does whatever it does. But yeah, we'll take Reckon or Binkbuster. We can use it to further our game plan. All right. Next is pack one, pick 10. Show and tell.

Nexus have becoming portable holes, Sunbill a verge, unexpectedly absent any fire covenant. I think I would take fire covenant. Great pick. Excellent. And now also if badlands comes back, which probably won't, but in the chain landing pick, there was a badlands. That would be the perfect land because it'd make Delta into a red land and would have put hills into a black land. But even if you don't get that Delta already as a black land. Pack one, pick 11, aborant, Oculus. There's also a sparras headquarters. I don't think we want any of these. I would just take the Oculus. There's also a pest infestation, which I don't think is a crazy pick with what it foothills. But I would take Oculus with with double fetch chain lightning chromatic star. Like, you're you're you could just be like a grixus mid range dex flashing this fire covenant. If you don't if the things don't work out for the artifact stuff. Yeah. And those suplex wheeled alongside this Gandalf. But I imagine you just take suplex here and red seems open. Blue doesn't seem particularly open. But you got a pretty late iteration. You got some late fetch lands. Like I think you'll be fine.

Take a suplex pack one, pick 12. Our cards are moxople chain lightning chromatic star suplex expressive iteration. Reckoner bankbuster tinker gut fire covenant polluted Delta wooded foothills. Now we're going to get a dig through time. Sure. Dig and Oculus fight a little so you will not end up playing both. Oh, call of guns command is you solid here over three minutes. Yeah. So the grixus basically to summarize it. You have moxople chromatic star and tinker for Oh, last pick. Sterns. Well, nice. So you have three artifact cards and you have a bunch of mid range blue red cards. So we'll just have to see what these these packs have. Okay. Next up. Oh, good stuff here. Pack two pick one. No power. But there's well, there's a source of plowshares that stand out, but there's also pyroglyph and volcanic island. Those are the two cards that really stand out to me. So this is this is a classic like do I need to take my eat my vegetables

and take the volcanic island or can I you know, delay that or assume that I can fix that later and take pyroglyph and I'm going to be honest, I would take pyroglyph here. I know. And you're going to tell me to take a volcanic island. Okay. I will take volcanic island then see this. You have to believe a blue fetch and a red fetch. You don't have a blue red fetch. You just have a blue fetch and a red fetch volcanic island is just the perfect land. You've got Sterns Gold and Chain Eidings, Suplex, Expressive Interation, Oculus Gut. You are playing blue red is just like that that's going to happen. What do you play artifacts or not? The next four or so picks are probably going to really show you that if you got past a Telerin Academy here, if you got past a bowl so sit it over to Tinker, if you got past a mocks, obviously it would be crazy. You know, we'll say, we'll say. Okay. I took it. I ate my vegetables. We're figuring things out about me. Next up, there's Dach Faden, which I love maybe overrate. There's Wheel of Fortune, Fractured Identity, Karn, which I also really like. There's a Taiga. And there is Fourth

Irolingus down in the corner there too. The big hammer that has been really grainy cube for a long time but hasn't shown up in this one. So for me, I would narrow it down to Dach Faden and Karn. And I think I would take Dach Faden. What would you take? I would probably take five cards before I even thought about Karn. I just don't like the card very much. I think for me, it's Dach versus Fourth Irolingus. And normally I would take fourth with two fetch lands, but honestly, I actually like your pick of Dach here because now you can just play both dig and Oculus in the same Dach Faden. That's what I was thinking. Yeah, I really like Karn. I must be way too high on it. I think you are. Yeah, it's not like Karn. You should consider that pack. Pack two, pick three. Any lands? No. So Louise can't yell at me. I know. There's a black red land. Blazmer Verge is a land you would put in your deck. That's

true. I was thinking of my covenant, but you're right. No, there's none of the really, really good lands. But the best cards in the pack, there's Blazmer Verge. There's Necromancy and Atolley. You're not really interested in either of those. There's a Pentad prism, which I think is likely going to be the pick because you can sack it to gut and tinker. You also might well not be artifacts, but I would, here's the spot I would draw from right now. I would take a sum or blue red like mid-range, but you could veer into artifacts if the right cards present themselves. Pentad prism is kind of good for both of those. And there's really nothing else competing with it. Yeah, I like it. That's what I was thinking too. And it's worth noting. No, we don't have a tinker target yet. We're not in the tinker business until it's really here. No. Okay, next up, Emra Cool Lightning Bolt, buy you what else? Dragon's race, Chandler, Lightning Helix, I would take Bolt. Yeah, I like it. So it turns out that the artifact stuff really isn't here. We're pretty close to just shelving

that part of the deck. And it's a shame to lose Moxopul. I actually don't feel bad about the chromatic star really because you got the volcanic. So the Thunder and Falls loss isn't so bad. And chromatic star is really good when you're like trying to fill your graveyard and you have a gut and stuff like that. Yeah, yeah, we'll still play. I really hope Dragon's Rage Channel or Wheels here. Wheels are good portion of the time. And there's like five good cards in this pack. So yeah, we just need to fade to two other people. I mean, if you count Emra Cool, it's even actually not that unreasonable for it to come back around. Okay, so we take the Lightning Bolt. I like the Bolt next up is Pack 2. Pick 5. There's Gold Span Dragon, Jace Wilde of Mysteries, Manamorphos, Rafine's Tower, which I guess does cover two of our bases and is fetchable by the Delta, but not the foothills. Yes, Hedge Maze and Seathing Song. This is funny. I mean, am I supposed to just take Manamorphos here? Oh, yeah, baby. You're drafting Blue Red, like Blue Red Cantrips now.

If the Dragon's Rage Wheels, that'd be awesome. Manamorphos, it just helps cast the cards. Like Oculus and Digthru Time are both really, really busted cards. If you've enabled them correctly, this deck looks like it's going to the main thing this deck is missing is you don't have any two mana counters and you don't have any two or one mana creatures. So it'd be good to work on those things, but we got a little time. All right, Pack 2, Pick 6. There's a blood crypt here and I just want to slam it. Yeah, this gets the easy one. There's a wishcloth all thing in a dark ritual. Now that you have blood crypt polluted Delta, volcanic island, wooded foothills, you have a really good grixus mana base. You're not done. You would like to pick up another one or two, but you also have Manamorphos and Pentegrism. If you see a Thought Seas, oh, and you have Chromatic Star. If you see a Thought Seas, you can just take it now. Yeah, definitely. The way I kind of look at it is once you have two fetches, a duel of your main colors and a duel of your secondary color, or like tertiary, I guess in this case, Black, I feel comfortable taking Black cards. I wouldn't have before the thing that's not too comfortable. I wonder if I can get that Kaito back. Pack 2, Pick 7. Wow, it's pretty rough for us. There's a

tropical island and a collective brutality and then a bunch of green and white cards. You know, I would honestly, well, I like to see what you're considering. I would just take a bet and you're on brutality. Yeah. I honestly would just take Trop. Yeah. My reasoning is kind of twofold. One, I just don't think this deck wants collective brutality. No, you have a bunch of bolts, so you don't need the minus two minus two. I was going to put it in the board. Yeah. But you're not sideboarding. It's the best of one. So I just meant I was going to put it in the sideboard as in I'm not playing it. Oh, yeah. I guess technically this is actually traditional. You do. That's funny. Okay. Well, I think it's useful to know for people who are watching Best of One that I would take Trop. You never know when you get a minskin boo. You can cast Manomorfose. Fetchable lands are really important. And to that to that vein, now there's a Tundra, but there's also preacher of the schism. And as much as I don't really like the card, you might be in the in the market to take preacher to the schism. I'm totally fine. Just taking Tundra here though. All right. Here's our wheel pack. Well, we got the miscalculation back. That's kind of interesting. There is also a tropical island. Yeah. I mean, I like

Oco a lot. I guess we're still I would probably just settle on Miss Calc. What would you take? I really want this brainstorm. Like you have two. Because I have the fetches. Dude, I always overlook brainstorm. Yeah. You have two. That's another week. Your time. In an Oculus and all that. Look, your car and came back. Well, yeah, but now I'm not an artifacts and I'm not interested. Now actually this is a wild one. I actually think you want carnage and terprate. Yeah. That's what I was thinking too. This great. It's going to empty its hand and play that. Also, you can set it up with brainstorm where you like put your put a card back on top and play interpreter and discard your hand. Also, you have Tundra. You have all these fetches. Like look, there's an error going in this pack along with a bunch of green cards. I would take the error going king of Gondor. That's the one plus Jessica. I mean, a blue red white, four, four, vigilance, life link. You become the monarch and when you attack, you make something unable to block. If you have the monarch, nothing can block. This is a really good card. You've got that Tundra that you can fetch with Delta. Dragon's Raid's channel or wheeled amazing. Dude, that's amazing. That's huge.

Because right now, I think I would move Mox Opal, Tinker and Reckoner Bankbuster out. I just don't think you're going to play those. Yeah. The only way the Opal gets some plays. If you open a Mox and get past a Mox, I have to take your battle spirit. It's your battle spirit over seating song. You're not playing seating song. You're not tinkering for battle spirit. I don't even know why that's back in the cube. And then I'm going to take wish claw talisman pect. Yeah. If you open Mox, got past Mox, got past another artifact or two, you could run Opal. But I think for right now, I would assume you're not going to. Okay. So our deck is brainstorm stern scolding chain lightning dragon's race channeler lightning bolt chromatic star suplex expressive iteration manamorphose pentad prism a born oculus gut dac fate and carnage interpreter fire covenant colagons command aragorn and dig through time currently and then pack three pick one. What do we got? Let's see hollowed fountain cryptic like that plateau and a flooded strand is flooded strand do what I need it to do here. It gets volcanic. It gets tundra. It

doesn't get blood crypt. So it doesn't get black yet. Okay. But now that you have three fetches and four duels, you actually are in a position where you could kind of take whatever as is you're going to put fire covenant and aragorn in your deck. You're going to be playing those four colors. We saw Oko go away at the end of last pack. So there's not that many green cards you would splash at this point. But you never know. Okay, pack three pick two. We got shell dock ataxi and probe. Let's see anything else good empty the warrants. No. So just a bunch of jank so to me, you know, my question is, is this a shell dock deck? Is this a probe or is this like do I just need a random temple garden for these splashes that I'm doing here? I think you're not having a green card right now. I would take probe probe is amazing card and you have all my great graveyards stuff. There is also an ember wild captain in the pack which I wouldn't take here. I would take probe. But I don't know what that is. Yeah, it's a fine card. It's four man or four two. You become the monarch. Okay. So okay. Um, it also pings them if you're a monarch when they

attack, whatever that part doesn't matter so much. But basically it'd be a good monarch threat. But you just picked up arrogant. There's a great monarch threat. So you don't really need that on four. Okay. And this is turning into a turbo-occupial stack. Like it's actually looking pretty nice. Like this. Oh, this pack has a good. Wow. This pack is stacked. Holy smokes. Pack three pick three. There's VV or Nidia, which would actually be really good here. I think, uh, they see we're not playing birds. Yeah. But there is unholy heat, ponder and sehealy as well. I love booster tutor too. So I think in my mind it's between VV and ponder. I think I would take VV. I'm a little lambing booster tutor. It's not even a question. Oh, I get to take booster tutor. You've got a bunch of vegetables. You have all five colors. You can even, you're also just playing trop and tundra. Even if you don't need them for me. He's free. I thought that was the irresponsible pick. No, no, I think I think booster tutor is a great card. And I think this is a really good spot. I'm so happy to hear that. I was trying to be an adult. No, no, no. In this particular case,

it's not necessary. Okay. That doesn't happen that often. Let's see. Pack three pick four. What is gloom lake birds? That verge. There is third path iconoclast, which I really like. There's a random reanimate. The minestone. I don't think that does anything. I probably could get golos going. He's in this pack, but I don't really take him here. That's not what you want to do. I would take third path. What do you like? Yeah, I'm torn between third path and reanimate. But I think I take third path. If you don't want any hope of this gut being a good card, third path is going to help. And honestly, you have a zero minus spell in probe, a zero minus spell in MoraFos in a ton of one mana spells. Yeah. Take third path. This is spot for it. I think it's going to spit out some the main reason to consider not taking third path is that I think you could wheel it. Right. But this also doesn't look like an amazing reanimate deck or anything either. Oh, this is sad. Pack three pick five. There's a flash in this pack. I just don't have anything that matters. There is a preordained, which I love. There's also young pyramancer, which would be kind of fun in this deck,

as well as seasoned pyramancer bone crusher, just a whole bunch of good kind of middle stuff, but I would just take preordained. Yeah. For sure. You really do want to find a counter spell. And I think passing the miscalc was totally fine last pack because I think miscalc is just not that good of a card. It's okay. But right now, you are dying for just like any counter spell. Wow. Man of all picks six. I mean, it's not the best man of all time to be on work for us, but that's kind of weird. Wow. Solitudes here too. There's also time spiral faithless looting, a braid. Hmm. I mean, you should just take the dismember. I should just take this member. It's just so good. I would have taken Man of all, but I don't even like it here. I literally can't cast any spell. I know. I just I'm like, it's sort of like a, I know, it's kind of weird to pass a man of all. Yeah. But I think you're definitely right. The braid makes more sense. Let's see. Pack three pick seven. We're not a sword deck. Oh, ether spell bomb. Yeah. I would

just take spell bomb. I think you need, you need, you need threats. Oh, I am a little white guy. It's really good. It's good with DAC. You know, you get to, it's good. The current turn to a war. It turned three carnage and turbo attack for five or something. Yeah. That's cool. Get in there. Oh, skull clamp. Eight pick, skull clamp. Wow. And we just took three PI too. Yeah, I would slam. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I would take it. I would take it. I was, I was considering, you know, advocating for this pyrocanesis, but what I do love, but you do have chain lightning, lightning bolt, suplex and dismember. You don't really need it. Yeah. Take clamp. There was also a young pyromancer, which I think is kind of pretty good chance. And we did see the, what's it take, take the cryptic command. Can I have a spot? Your man has got to be really good. Like, well, my man is in a volcanic and then in a blood crypt. And then you can just play, and you have a pentad prism and a chromatic star in a man of morphos. Like, I just think that

this deck is going to, the biggest strength of this deck is that it's got brainstorm probe, preer day, and it's just going to rip through its deck and find kind of the same cards every game. No card in this back matters. Yeah. Say pack three pick. It's all white cards and white lands. It doesn't matter. So finding, even just having one hard counter here, and I guess this is really going to be the only one gives you something to dig for. Oh, VV wheel. This is such a good VV deck. This is great. This is a really cool. Okay. The young pyromancer is coming next. Yeah, this, I'm actually really happy the direction we went here. This has been really sweet. Yeah, this has been cool. And also, of course, shows at a more basic level, but still, you know, don't get married to your first pick, right? Like, we bailed on the tinker plan. Take lingering souls. This is this is the spot for it. You've got a bunch of discard. You've got a tundra. You've got a you're playing black. See, I see. This is why this is why I keep you around the least. I would not have seen that. That is actually a legit great spot for lingering souls. You can discard it to carnage interpreter or ding. It looks like the young pyromancer didn't come back.

That's okay, which is a little sad. The abrade did. Yeah. Yeah. Is that better than Thor? I don't know. Probably. I'll take Thor. I'll take Thor. I never played it. You don't really need both. Oh, I don't know what this is. Adversary. It makes a devil token. One one devils. What do they do? Are they dying pain? They ping for one. Oh, for your skull. Clarence. Are they artifacts now? Can you even box opal and you probably can't write? No, I can't really have I was looking at three artifacts. Skull clamp and third path. But now I don't think so. If we cut one artifact, the opal could be the third one. Very good. Okay. So we're taking a look at the overall build now. And we've got 47 cards currently though. So we have a lot of cuts to make obviously. But right now at the ones and this is really funny because this is so different. So different than the other deck at the ones we have brainstorm. Actually, I mean, getaxing probe is technically a

one, but it's often a zero pre-ordained Sternscolding booster tutor chain lightning dragon rage channeler, dragon's rage channeler lightning bolt chromatic star and skull clamp. And at two, we have Evora suplex expressive iteration, third path, iconic class, mana morpheus pentad prism, which unfortunately doesn't go to the graveyard. Three lingering souls, a born oculus dismember, which is another one in some cases, a gut, dacfaden, vivi, carnage interpreter, fire covenant, colagons command, an obnixt list, the adversary. Forers are cryptic command and aragorn. Five is Thorgot of thunder and our eight drop is dig. From a lands perspective, we have tundra volcanic island blood crypt tropical island flooded strand polluted delta and wooded foothills. Man, look at that mana. Yeah, I think your mana is great. I would trade chromatic star for thundering falls the way this kind of panned out. But I think star

still probably fine here. You have to cut seven cards. Six or seven. Is this a deck that we could play 16 land? You could actually run 16 for sure here. I mean, I was certainly cut Thor and obnixt list to start with. I just don't think you need those. Honestly, I think this might be a pentad prism cut. Yeah, because it doesn't go to the yard and like, I mean, it would have been fine. You're man end up fine. You don't know playing the tinker. Yeah, you need to cut three still. Yeah, kind of a lot. Yeah, it is. It is. I think you probably cut K command as one of them. Yeah. Brain star. Yeah, I don't think you want to cut any of the cantrips. You could cut a chain lighting or a suplex. Yeah, maybe you have bolt chain lighting suplex. So the third one, yeah, the two minutes stuff is just so much harder to cast. Yeah. And then the last cut,

just cut the chromatic star. I mean, I just think it's fine. Yeah, that's fine. And then I'll cut one land. But I don't know what we need yet. So you don't need to play in certainly. But yeah, I'll cut that for now. So right now, let's see how this looks. So we've got this. Oh, actually looking looking more at the mana base. Yeah, if you cut star and prism, this era gorn starts looking kind of sketchy. So maybe cut era gorn and because you picked up the VV. So your finishers are Oculus VV carnage interpreter and gut. Yeah, some degree third path. Okay. And I think you could just put the star back in just for cantripy fixin. You're basically playing lingering souls off Tundra plus a cup two fetches that get it. Wooded foothills doesn't get it. And chromatic star mana morphos. But a big part of your lingering souls experience is going to be discarding it till one of your or surveilling it. And then just flashing it back. You've got you've got like three different things that discard in a surveil card. So that that's already pretty good. I mean, this is like a turbo graveyard deck, right? I mean,

I can just fill up my graveyard so quickly. Deck Faden does it to all these cheap cards. That the strings of this deck is it's going to tear through its deck. The biggest weakness is that it doesn't have like it just a counter spell or a manelik or something would have been awesome. Yes, right, right. That is what we missed. Okay, it doesn't have any acceleration or or free counters like a days would have been amazing here too. So this deck can get a little behind, but it does have a bunch of really efficient removal spells, cantrips, some decent threats. And those are just kind of shore up some of your problems as well. I'm still so excited. I got to draft booster tutor and not something more responsible. So right now we've got let's see three islands plus two four five six seven eight. Does the wood of foothills get blue? Yes. So that's nine new sources. So that's I guess good enough. Well, you have brainstorm preer day as ways that you're going to use to get out of, you know,

like a bad man a situation. Yeah. It gave you five mountains to start with. You're probably going to have at most play like three mountains and the rest and more islands. So how about black? I guess that's the real question. So we've got swamp blood crypt. The strand does not get it. The delta does and the wooded foothill does. So that's four. Yeah. Plus the star. Yeah. Right now that's four plus the star for just booster tutor and fire coming. I play one swamp. I think the one swims probably fine. Okay. And then if I go up to five islands, that means red sources is three mountains volcanic blood crypt. That's five polluted delta wooded foothills is seven. No, flood strand also also gets volcanic. Oh yeah. So eight. So the question is chromatic star. Yeah. So do I want 10, 10, eight or nine, nine for islands and mountains? I mean, 10, eight certainly.

You might even be 11, seven. Okay. Because I really want to get the brain storms. But I think I play 10, eight because also man and morpheus is like another blue source. And there is one exact situation where man and morpheus is red source, which is when you cast off tropical island. Oh yeah. That's it. That kind of stuff matters. Yeah. I know it does. And look how much look the trop pick up didn't do that much, except it makes wooded foothills and untapped blue. Even if you already have volcanic and play, which for cryptic man could definitely matter. But more than that, that tundra pickup unlocks lingering souls. And I think lingering souls is great. They are going didn't quite end up making it though. I mean, it could. If there was another cut instead of star. Mm hmm. Where we could play that. Yeah. It's possible we like cut stern squelting and play air. Yeah. We cut that or we could cut one of the spot removal spells. Like we could. Yeah. I think I would just cut the stern squelting instead. Okay. And just play the airgorn because you have tundra, flooded strand polluted delta is three white sources. You also have man and morpheus and chromatic star. Yeah. And this dick really looks at a lot of cards. If airgorns bad, you'll

preordate it to the bottom. Yeah. Or you'll find a tundra. Yeah. Yeah. I think it's I think this deck actually does want one more powerful card to end the game. So I like this deck. If you got to trade two of its cards for two counters of days in a manelique, I would actually say this deck's excellent for for not opening anything super busted. Yeah. But I actually think this deck's pretty good. I'm curious to see how you do with it. Okay. Yeah. I'll let you know this is really eye opening. Luis. I I hope that our listener base can take away some of like anybody who has is archetypically kind of like me. Well, hopefully take away the lessons that I'm taking away from it and places where I can focus my energy as far as improving it cube. But yeah, I hopefully the show, you know, will be a proxy for other people getting to have that same experience. This deck ended up being brainstorm probe preordained booster tutor chain lightning dragons rage channeler lightning bolt chromatic star skull clamp dismember at the ones. And then evorexpress eviteration third path iconic last man and morpheus it to lingering souls a born oculus gut

dacfaden vv carnage interpreter fire covenant at three cryptic command and airborn at four and then a dig through time. And then the lands are five island of swamp three mountains tundra volcanic blood crypt tropical flooded strand polluted delta and wooded foothills at 16 lands. Yeah, man, this deck to me is is the real star here because this really does highlight a lot of the subtleties of cube play that you brought up with the mana bases and you know, how many people would put lingering soul have taken and put lingering souls in this deck, right? Like that, that was something that you were like you spotted that right away and you're like, hey, this is something we need to go for. And you know, I think most people would wouldn't even notice I, it wasn't even on my radar, you know, as an example, and I play a lot of cube. So I think it's a really good version of that. I also think that it shows off mana bases and what you can put together where this to me is what a lot of cube decks look like. It looks somewhat like a pile like if you were to describe this as an archetype, it would be difficult to do. You know, this isn't the

artifact stack. This isn't reanimator. This isn't storm. This isn't something you can just put in a box. But this is what a lot of cube decks actually look like in the real world when you're drafting against actual people and you, you know, are doing it over and over again. And I think that's a really important viewpoint on how cube looks now today, not every deck fits in a neat little box and you need to get these little edges and Luis is the master at that. I mean, he found each of these little holes and now, you know, we've got a complete deck. The other thing is, probably the name of the episode is how to draft no power cube, right? Like this is, you know, these are the type of decks that can actually try to keep up. Yeah, sometimes you're just going to get overwhelmed, you know, if they have a couple of pieces of power in their opening hand or whatever, decks like this that need to actually pay straight up mana for each of their spells are probably going to fall behind and that's fair enough. But, you know, this deck has a fair shot against most anything in, in, in cube. And that's, you know, sometimes the best that you should get in. I think,

I think both of the decks we drafted are going to be pretty strong against like mid-range decks. Like I think this deck is going to do really well against creature decks. You have chain lightning, lightning bolt, dismember and fire covenant, fire covenant, it's huge. And the cumulative effect of having brainstorm probe, preer-dane, cycling chromatic star and mana morphos, dig through time, deck fading, you're just going to see any card that you really need a lot more often than most decks. Like compare the two decks, right? The other deck is hoping to draw not to agrees, it will be good if it draws both. If this deck had a two, a similar two card combo, it would be way better at assembling. It just sees a lot more cards. So when you play against a deck, if you can stall a little, you can dig to fire covenant, you know, I think a lot of the times are against an artifact deck. You dig and find deck fading and then plant and steal one of the artifacts, you know. So I think, I think this deck's going to be pretty legit. And also don't, don't, don't sleep on the power booster tutor. This deck can cast every card, cards of every color and booster tutor is a really strong card. One man, I look at 15 cards. Cards that like could be power or just cards you

didn't draft that are super narrow and specific and now's the perfect time for them. Like, there's plenty of cards in the cube that you would never put in your deck or would rarely put in your deck. But if you boost your tutor into them, it's like, well, that is money. It's so funny because I came away from this thinking that maybe I underrated booster tutor a little bit, but here's the funny part. I don't think I've ever passed it. Like if I could conceivably cast it. Yeah, like, I love, like that's one of my favorite cards to play, which I don't like admitting that because it's one of the weird cards, but it is true. It's just super fun and it's also interesting. Okay, let's call it a show there. Luis, great stuff. Thanks for the guidance. I really appreciate it and hopefully I became a slightly better cube player today. Definitely open my eyes. If you want to find us on social media, I'm Marshall underscore LR and Luis is LSD pretty much anywhere. Make sure you check out his YouTube channel for awesome cube content where you can see the master at work. Some cool roto stuff over there as well. If you're into that, which I think everybody kind of is,

it's just a really neat way to experience and to watch you play and to watch the whole thing unfold. We want to thank our Patreon supporters as well as Ultimate Guard for their support of the show. And of course, you can find everything over at lrcast.com. Again, I mentioned it, but when the new episode goes up, it'll actually have a link down below right on the front page for the YouTube version of it. We're an audio podcast. So for the most part, you don't need to watch on YouTube, but we have it there for people that kind of consume their content through YouTube, like I do honestly. But for these specific episodes, these walkthrough style episodes, it could be really nice to see what else is going on in the pack and kind of follow along so you can find the links to the YouTube channel there. All right, that's going to do it for this one. We will see you next week. Well, Marcel speaking of Rodeo, I want to give LR listeners a sneak preview of what we're going to do for one of our upcoming ones here. And I think it's going to be a lot of fun. So the way Riches

or Jeffs set our work right now, we have like, let's say eight, oh, up to 10, right? But let's say eight players. And we're all picking from the vintage cube in order and it snakes kind of like a normal, you know, look fantasy draft or what have you. The most awkward part about it is we kind of have like gray slash soft rules against hate drafting because we've done a lot of rotos. We've had a lot of experiences and it kind of makes it go more smoothly. If the general rule is don't make a pick that's just going to be griefing someone else or or bad for someone else, if it's not good for you and to give you an example, if the person, let's say you're picking eight and pick seven, they take time ball, if you took both keys at last spot, we would be like, now what are you doing? Like that's that's not fun. It's not fun for them. You're kind of wrecking their draft and you're not also helping your draft because taking two keys in that spot is terrible pick for you. And obviously there's like less extreme versions of that. If you know, to give you an example, if you have if you have the a deck that could plausibly play those like, let's say you're an academy deck with

Grim Monolith and Manival, it's totally fine to take a key. Most of the time people don't like try to take double key in that spot, but the time vault players should know they've got to get a move on and take a key if they wait too long, all bets are off. Likewise, if someone takes demonic consultation, you probably don't take Thornton's Oracle next pick because it's just not good for you or them, it's just kind of a griefing pick. But we've had a draft where someone was drafting Nado and they took Oracle and that's that's legit. And then someone else took Consult and Jason played like that version. But there's no hard and fast rule, right? Yeah. We just are generally trying to make it so like don't don't basically take malicious picks just to ruin someone else's draft. It had no benefit to yourself. Well, I can tell you that our next thing is going to solve that completely. This is a new thing we're doing. We're going to do a four on four. And in a four on four setting, there's no such thing as hate drafting. There's no rules against it because if player three who's on team red takes time vault and team blue decides we're going to take two keys. Well, I actually think that's still a pretty bad pick from Blues perspective, but because it's just two different teams,

if one team wants to lower their own value, like expected value and make their draft worse, the other team doesn't doesn't mind that, right? There's hate drafting is naturally solved in this environment because you're presumably just trying to make picks that are better for your team. And sometimes that will be hate drafting and sometimes that won't be, but there's no ambiguity. If the team decides that they want to hate draft, you know, underworld breach because someone has lion's eye diamond, and they're going to take that, well, if the breach isn't good in your deck, then you cost yourself a lot, but you also cost them something and now they have to pivot, maybe do something else with the lion's eye, I'm becoming an expert on that by the way. Or they'll just abandon it and move on. It all sounds really interesting, right? It's just a completely different dynamic. Here's the twist. The twist is it's not going to be four on four. It's going to be four seats on each team. It's going to be the entire draft server on one side, and it's going to be me drafting on my four decks on the other side. Which it's not unfair. It actually arguably adding the seventh person's more of a disadvantage than having six or whatever. Yeah. But basically the way we're going to do is Mac is going to be the captain on the other team.

And to the day, the buck stops with him as it should. He knows what he's doing. And he actually, I think, is the best redder draft for all of us, including myself. He really has pioneered a lot of cool decks. He was the first person to take the double-pick card really early. He took it the first draft we added it, but he took it like third because he wanted to draft either a double and two or double academy deck. He was the first person to win with time vault by drafting a welder greaves time vault like transmute artifact deck. Oh, okay. So him having being the captain is going to be good. But yeah, they're going to have four seats to work with. I'm going to have four seats to work with. No hold bar. If you want a full hate draft, if you think that's the best thing, then go for it. But you've got to win your own matches too. So I'm really excited to see how this works out. The decks are going to be pretty scrappy because right now in Roto, once people have all their lanes, there's not that much like hate drafting. There's a bit of jockeying for position in the beginning. But here, it's like, you can't float anything. If you try to float handle obra, someone's just going to take it on the other team to make it so your academy deck doesn't get it if you wait too long. Should the corners

become super important because they can take consult Oracle and no one can interfere with that. Whereas if you take consult from the middle, someone else can take Oracle. There's going to be a lot of repurposing hate drafts. Imagine, imagine someone starts with like, like, seat seven has like a white plume adventure and a man of crypt and like a seasoned engineer, right? They're going down the white aggro route. But it's determined that they're the one who has to hate like the reanimate or underworld breach or whatever important card. They might then pick up a couple cards that push them more in that direction. We could see some total pivots. We could see like a blue deck that has happens to have a reanimating and in tune, but as otherwise like a blue red made range deck, like, I don't know what we're going to see. It's going to be really interesting. And of course, me versus the server sounds like a good time. So I'm looking forward to this. It's probably going to be up in like, I don't know two weeks or something like that. It depends when we get it done. Maybe it's going to be cool. It'll be up next week. I'm excited. We'll see. Do you think you're going to work? But yeah, I do. I don't think I have a big edge. But honestly, when it comes down to it,

whatever edge I might lose in drafts or however close we are in drafts, I don't think it's like that I'm a better road road drafter than these guys. I really don't. I think that the gameplay I do still have a bit of an edge. And there's a lot of games to be played. So like, I've had a couple of rotos here where I had kind of medium mid-range blue decks. I can give myself a little bit more percentage, you know, by drafting those decks, whereas drafting like the all-in storm deck, not a lot of room for me to leverage play school. Though I did throw an onboard win. So, yeah, there's always room to play better. But we'll see. I think it's going to be really close. I wouldn't be surprised if I lost. I do think I probably have a bit of an edge. But we'll see. It's also kind of interesting. Is it better to have seven or eight brains on it or one? I think probably the optimal number is like three, four or four. But we'll see how it works out. Two to three comes to mind. Yeah. But I'm excited for it. We'll see. We'll see where we go.
