In Adelaide today, March 19, three French tourists are recovering after a Byron Bay police officer pulled off a daring rescue from pounding waves at Little Waco's beach on Tuesday night. Constable Tommy Frazier, a former Bondi Rescue lifeguard, was on routine patrol in the Central Business District when emergency calls came in about the stranded novice surfers clinging to rocks. The tours were panicked with a language barrier making things tougher, so Frazier ditched his gear down to his underwear, swam out and climbed onto. The rocks to calm them down first. He helped the weakest swimmers stay afloat, while stronger ones made it back to shore, holding on until a jet ski arrived to bring everyone in safely. One tourist went to Lizmore Bay's hospital in serious but stable condition, and Frazier credits his lifeguard years for keeping his cool, saying he is. Always ready for a swim with his choice of underwear. The Daily News Now is presented by our sponsor, linked in the description.
