It's Belle again. So today we're going to talk about Canadian cadets and Hexeth working out. I guess I've been a little rough on Secretary of Defense Hexeth lately. You know, by reporting the news. But either way, it's led to some people taking up for the embattled Secretary of Defense with things like. Say what you want about Hexeth. But you've never seen any other Secretary of War go to PT with the troops and say fit to fight. You know what? I've never personally worked out with the Sektep. So we'll let that slide for a moment. You know what else I've never seen a Sektep do? Strip naked. Cover himself in grape jelly and roll around on a fire ant hill. While singing, if I could turn back time. What? Does that sound weird? Both things have the exact same amount of relevance to being Secretary of Defense.

Hexeth is a civilian. He is not a soldier. He doesn't need to be fit to fight. He can't lead from the front because he is a civilian. His job has nothing to do with PT. Civilian leadership of the military is so important that there's actually a law that says you have to be out of active duty military for seven years to be Sektep. And Congress has waved that less than a handful of times. Every time you see him traveling around doing a PT photo op, understand that's time taken from doing his actual job. I would prefer he spent the time learning to identify the uniforms and standards of our allies. So he doesn't embarrass the country mocking children again. Again? Yes. Again. In case you missed it, Hexeth posted an image of what I guess he thought were members of the Canadian military.

Along with the caption, this is real. In what appeared to be an attempt to body shame them. Of course, the problem for the United States Secretary of Defense is that he posted a picture from Vernon Cadet Training Center in British Columbia. These are not members of frontline forces of the Canadian military. No one receiving a medal is a literal child. For Americans, the Canadian cadets are kind of like a cross between our scouts and JROTC. Imperfect analogy, but close enough. It's a community-based organization that provides military applicable skills, but doesn't require a commitment to join. Imagine being a kid, joining that, going to camp, receiving a medal, and then becoming the center of an international incident. Because the Secretary of Defense of an allied nation tried to use a photo with you in it to cyber bully.

Would you care that he does PT? Class it up with Crocs. You know back to school is coming in fast. So why wait to find your new faith footwear? We've had people ask, why Hexeth was looking at Canadian cadets to begin with? And I actually think I came up with the answer. Hexeth has been pushing people who are more qualified than he is out of the military. Now he has open positions that need to be filled by someone less qualified. So he looks better by comparison. Maybe children in another country seemed like the only place to find somebody less qualified. I'd say he was wrong about that too. Because I'd suggest that any Canadian cadet would know his actions were inappropriate. By the way, that's actually not true. Other sectives have in fact done occasional PT with the troops. They just didn't have it filmed like a Jimbo influencer. Or use it as a substitute for competence. Anyway, it's just a thought. We all have a good day.
