Legendary Coach Hallett Leaves Flora for STEM

0:00On April 25, big news in South Carolina High School baseball, legendary coach Andy Hallett is stepping down from AC Flora High after nearly 30 years as head coach. He's heading to Midland's STEM Charter School in Windsboro as their new athletic director and baseball coach, starting the 2026. 27th school year, he'll wrap up this season with the Falcons first. Hallett just hit his 600th win back in late March, turning Flora into a powerhouse with seven state titles, including three straight from 2012 to 2014. That's a feat no bigger class team had pulled off before. Right now, his squad sits at 17 and five, tied for first in Region 3-4-A, eyeing a deep playoff run. The moves are shocker since he's built such a dynasty at Flora, but Midland's STEM needs that spark. It's a small class A school with just 250 kids total and 66 in high school grades. 1:01teams like Lewisville and Lee Central, meanwhile, the school's investing big moved into a 46,000 square foot building last year and building an on-campus diamond. They feel teams in basketball, volleyball, cross country, baseball, and softball. Hallett's already told his Flora players and a press conference drop Saturday to make it official. As one of only four active coaches statewide with 600 wins, Hallett's heading into the South Carolina Baseball Coaches Association, Hallov, famed this spring.
