Lee County Farmers Federation Endorses Cam Hunt for Sheriff

0:00This is Cory with the story, and here's what is making news across Birmingham right now. The Lee County Farmers' Federation threw their support behind Cam Hunt for Sheriff on Friday. He's challenging the current sheriff, Jay Jones, in the upcoming race. Hunt grew up right here in Lee County, graduating from Auburn High School before heading to Auburn University. There, he studied political science and international relations while playing on the football team. After college, Hunt served in the U.S. Marine Corps, starting as a second lieutenant in field artillery. He rose to Captain, taking on key leadership roles with the first battalion, 10th Marine Regiment. On the law enforcement side, Hunt worked as a traffic homicide investigator with the Obalika Police Department and joined the Lee County SWAT team. He's also trained as an FBI firearms instructor and certified sniper, plus he's been time at the Lee County Sheriff's Department from 20. 23 to 2025. Hunt and his wife, Kalin, have three kids, and the family attends first Baptist Church in Obalika.
