And I, it's rich and greetings from my senior citizen apartment, as we want to encourage each other to have faith in Jesus and follow him. I'm broadcasting on my smartphone, and there's something here I'd like to share with you about leaving all to follow Christ, and is over in Luke chapter 14. And starting at verse 25, and it says here, now great multitudes went with Jesus, and he turned and said to them, if anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, his own life also, he cannot be my disciple, and whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. And I was thinking what a great reminder this is for you and me, this hour, Christ is calling us out to have faith in Him, and to follow Him and to have Him be the one who has first place in our heart. And he goes on to say here, in Luke 1427, whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple, for which of you intending to build a tower does not sit down first and count the cost,
whether he has enough to finish it. And that's what he's calling you and me to do to count the cost to be a disciple. And he says, last after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying this man began to build and was not able to finish. Or what King going to make war against another King does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with 10,000 to meet him who comes against him with 20,000. And I believe this is also what the Lord is asking us to do to sit down and consider what he's calling us to do, which is the first say call for him. And he goes on to say here in Luke chapter 14 or also, while the other is still a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for conditions of peace. And then listen to what he says here in Luke 14, 33. So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be my disciple.
Well, that's something to pray about, isn't it? God give us art like that because this is what he's calling us to do. The Bible says in Colossians chapter 1 that our Heavenly Father delivered us from the domain of darkness and put us into the Kingdom of the Son he loves. Jesus is the King of God's Kingdom and we serve the Lord Jesus. So let's consider these things and seek the Holy Spirit's help and living for Christ. And remember Jesus loves you and he is just a prayer away.
