Lauren Parker's Winter Debut: 8th in Paralympics

Australian Paralympian, Lauren Parker, grab eighth place in the women's 10 kilometers sitting paracross country ski race at the Milano Cortina, Gaines. The 37-year-old summer star earned two gold medals before in cycling and triathlon, but picked up skis just nine months ago. Parker got into winter sports thanks to her friendly rival, American Kindle Gretchen. The two have swapped wins in triathlon, with Parker beating Gretchen for gold in Paris last year after a close loss in Tokyo. In Wednesday's race at Tesarro, American Oksana masters claimed goal for her third win at these games and 12 Paralympic gold overall. South Korea's Kim Yung-ji took silver, while Gretchen settled for bronze. Parker called the result a strong step forward, especially after 13th in the by-athelons print and 9th in the 12.5 kilometer.
