Laremy Tunsil Signs Record-Breaking Deal with Washington Commanders

0:00With the NFL today, March 9th, Washington Commander's left tackle, Laramie Tunsell just signed a two-year deal worth $60.2 million. This makes him the first offensive lineman in NFL history to average $30 million a year. His agent confirmed the agreement to ESPN. This is the second huge contract of Tunsell's career. Back in 2023 with the Houston Texans, he became the first offensive lineman to hit $25 million annually. Now he's the highest paid at his position again with the biggest signing bonus ever for a lineman at $32.5 million. Tunsell brings a strong resume to Washington. He's a five-time pro-bola and was the 13th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins years ago. The commanders traded for him last spring and he started 14 games last season despite having a year left on his deal. The extension locks him in through 2028 and shows the team's focus on protecting quarterback Jayden Daniels. Tunsell will guard Daniels blindside, a key role after the young star missed 10 games last year due to injuries.
