Lane Kiffin, LSU 'on an island all alone'

I mean, honestly, it's just embarrassing. That's where we are. I don't blame the kids. People trying to take advantage of the system, I just think it's embarrassing where we're called to football. And we've been there for a while. I just keep my energy, my focus on, and my energy on the things that I control and the things that matter. And that's these kids here and our team. But all that outside stuff, we just kind of, no pun intended.

1:02We just stay in our lane here at Clemson. Try to. Every now and then, somebody will ram into us. But we try to just handle our business here. But it's embarrassing. I mean, it really is. We have no rules. There's no governance. I mean, it's a joke. There's zero rules. And when you enforce rules, somebody just goes and finds a judge to say, no, you can't enforce that rule. So, I mean, never did I think I'd be living in an era like this, but that's where we are. It is. And it's a shame. So from one side of the country to the other, this is Steve Stark-Eason talking about the same thing. These players on all of our rosters, not just ours, have been working for nine months for this moment on Saturday, which then will lead into the next five to six months. The fact that somebody out there is going to take a player off of an NFL roster and tell somebody who's been doing it for nine months, go kick rocks. That doesn't sit well with me.

2:02I think that's wrong. That morally is wrong. So I think our presidents, A.D.s, and chancellors got it right, and we'll support it, and we'll fall in line. So look, we said this, Mike. You want to get into the morality conversation, find. I still believe in knowing a lot of coaches in my career that there is still that moral fiber in their body. Like yeah, I'm going to follow rules and guess what? If I'm allowed to break the rules a little bit to get ahead, I'll do that. But at the end of the day, we all have to be on the same page on this. And Mike, I think if it was left up to the coaches independently, and again, I've said this to you, I think this lane thing is over him. I think they're pressing this just to see if they can get away with it. And there's a lot of money there behind this. He has no doubts in the room in Louisiana State. He's the face of the program, so everybody's going, this is lane. He's having to deal with other people going, we should do this. We should we can get away with it. Nobody in their right mind thinks this way, especially from a coaching standpoint. Like, what coach in the SEC is going, yeah, I'm going to bring in a couple of guys. It didn't make it on the Cleveland Browns.

3:03Well, you've been lane, but lane just can't help himself. You know, I talked to him. He's a bull artist. You know, my leadership council's all for it. No, they're not. Just again, they wanted to be golden to coach it to your full of crap. I just think lane, he's crossed over like, we know this guy's in there in our business. They do that. They just believe their own baloney. And it just, oh, it just drives me crazy. Hopefully, as we said, this thing does play out where they get these things from a judge with some common sense. And I don't know when that happens, Carl, because again, as we heard from Davos Swini, it's just you get your judge. I get my judge. We'll just keep all the way to the Supreme Court over this. And then meanwhile, LSU will be stupid to play these guys because they may have to, you don't forfeit their season. Yeah. We'll see where it goes, but the big news is again, the executive committee is saying, we're all on the same page here. It's Duke's and Bill speaking of dogs and Georgia playing this weekend. 4:03I just, I popped the bobo. He said that too. Yeah. He was waiting for a bobo question. I get a problem. Well, do you expect one of each generic? Yeah. I mean, this, you know, it's funny how the guy tell me is like, just stop fretting about FSU. They were going to sandbag. Who can, you can't sandbag when you're not that good. Now, Georgia is that good. They can totally sandbag against Tennessee state and then ex-apointed and then obviously get ready for Arkansas and then Oklahoma. I mean, I get it, but you, I don't expect bobo to do anything fancy. I think you run the football, but you want to see some, you want to see the receivers that were, you know, we have questions about looking pretty good, right? You do want to get them involved. No, look, Kirby talking about execution. I think we'll be discussing that over the next few days. That's what you want to see. Clean, executed football, right? Nobody gets hurt. Correct. And that's really where this is at. Here's Kirby, though, talking about playing in the heat. This got a lot of chuckles because everybody was like, man, it's hot out here. I committed to a game type atmosphere in that heat because you don't ever play games a lot of times. And we practice in it, but we did get to scrimmaging it. So I'll be interested to see as much about our players as I do about our fans and see if

5:04they can handle it. See if you guys can handle it. Look at all that air conditioning. You all come out there with us. See if you have 110 heat index and go up and down the field with 25 pounds of pounds of pads on. You think you'll be all right? Absolutely. If you wear all the equipment, I'll give it to you. And I'll put your ass out there. You'll be all right. These pro players coming back. Just sliver. And over. That's great. Is that Mark Weiser? I don't know if that was who he was going after, but yeah. Or an older. That's funny. But yeah, man, like, I think it does matter. I mean, Kevin Stofansky, Mike, we talked about the he had a couple of camp days out there in that heat. And, you know, more times or not, we go back three coaches. Nobody was practicing in the afternoons. Everybody was doing this stuff in the morning and Kevin's like, no, we're going to do some stuff in the afternoon. I think it matters. You know, you talk about most high schools day day. We talk about this. They're out there in that heat. Right.

6:05And the first month of the season September is still hot. Yeah, unless you're in California where when against the 90 everybody stays inside and nobody goes to USC football games. Let me tell you something. When you go to high school football games, the first couple of weeks of August, they are so long because there are so many cramps, right? Cats are just dropping. Like we left it right. Like this. Someone's down. Looks like he's cramping. We saw that. And that was indoors. Yeah. So, but Kirby, look, he's joking, but his guys will be ready. And then this is the other thing he said before we get out of here talking about getting to see the growth in a real game situation. And you see growth, confidence, exposure to playing in front of fans. You know, in my coaching history, there's guys that nobody goes out and just does something phenomenal. They have it done in practice. What we see in practice, we see in games. But maybe the reaction to a play they gave up or they get beat and how they respond to it is what I'm looking for is the response more than the actual event.

7:08So, we'll get a chance to see all of that. We'll break down games starting tomorrow. We're getting ready for Georgia Tech, Colorado, and also tomorrow. 8:09And that was the latest situation behind the wheel when he shouldn't have been behind the wheel. Hey, man, what do we do in adults? I don't have any kids, but at least I have the common sense of him around kids, not to get in a fight with somebody. You see that brawl in Pennsylvania? No. I mean, you got 11-10 year-old kids and you got coaches pushing each other in front of the kids. They got a battle royal. I mean, literally women, man, everybody, shaman. Just saw a video, it just dropped. I have it at Mike Bell, Ray Till Bell, what do the hell I am on Twitter. But it's a guy who was constant and he's tripping. He literally trips a nine-year-old going down the sideline for a touchdown run. I mean, who does that? People that weren't raised right. And unfortunately, now they've got kids in their own.
