Labubu Movie Announced: Paddington Director on Board

Pop Mart and Sony Pictures just announced they are teaming up to make a feature film based on the super popular LaBoubou Plush Toys. The movie will mix live-action with computer-generated imagery, and Paul King, the guy behind the Paddington movies in Wanka, is set to direct, produce, and co-write it. Joining King on the script is Stephen Levinson, known for his work on dear Evan Hansen and Tick-Tick Boom. The producers include Michael Schaefer from The Martian, Winston Shee from a beautiful day in the neighborhood, and Cossing Lung, the original creator of LaBoubou, who is executive-producing. LaBoubou comes from Lung's Master's Picture Book series, launched in 2015, and inspired by Nordic folklore.
