Labour Councillor Jailed for Online Chat with Undercover Cop

0:00On March 20th, a 31-year-old former labor counselor in North London named Lyron Velomon just got an eight-month prison sentence suspended. For 15 months, after sending a nude video to someone he thought was a 13-year-old school girl, turns out it was an undercover police officer posing online. He started chatting with the officer, who used the name Kaylee on a site called Chateebe and early December 2024, then switched to Snapchat. Despite knowing her supposed age right away, he pushed things sexual fast, stripping on video, and asking her to do the same. Velomon had served on Barnett Council for the Wetsdome Ward until he resigned following his arrest on child sex offence charges. He pleaded guilty back in February to trying to engage in sexual communication with a child and getting one that aged to view sexual images. In quarter-south or crown court, the judge made it clear his actions wrecked his career in personal life, ordering 180 hours of, community service, 20 days of rehab, and 10 years
