Estes Park honors 25 years since 9/11

More than 100 firefighters, veterans, families, and community members gathered for the fourth annual Estes Park 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Participants climbed 2,200 steps—equal to the 110 stories of the World Trade Center—to honor the victims and first responders who lost their lives.

Each participant carried the name and photograph of a fallen first responder. The event also raised money for programs supporting firefighters and their families. Read the full story.

Hispanic Heritage Month proclaimed in Estes Park

Mayor Gary Hall officially proclaimed Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 as Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the history, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic Americans and generations of Latino residents in Estes Park.

Members of the Estes Chamber of Commerce Latino Alliance joined the mayor for the presentation. The proclamation highlighted the important role Latino workers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders play throughout the Estes Valley. Read the full story.

Mayor shares “Together, We Are More” message

In a community message, Mayor Hall noted that Latinos represent more than 10% of Estes Park’s population and make essential contributions to the local workforce, economy, and culture.

He also recognized the need for greater Latino representation in business, government, and community leadership. Hall praised the Latino Alliance for creating educational, business, and leadership-development opportunities and encouraged local institutions to open more doors.

Fiesta Latina comes to Cleave Street

The community is invited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Fiesta Latina on Saturday, Sept. 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cleave Street Commons.

The family-friendly celebration will feature local musicians, vendors, food from Mexico al Norte, an appearance by Mayor Gary Hall, and more. The event will offer residents and visitors an opportunity to experience and celebrate Latino music, food, culture, and community.

Visit Estes Park presents its 2027 priorities

Visit Estes Park introduced its refreshed brand and priorities for 2027 during the organization’s Tourism Summit, attended by approximately 168 business owners, officials, and community members.

The organization reported that tourism generates an estimated $500 million in annual visitor spending and supports more than 3,000 local jobs. Its priorities include strengthening the year-round visitor economy, improving infrastructure, protecting open spaces, expanding cultural opportunities, and supporting workforce housing. Bruce Davies reflects on Nick Mollé’s legacy

Bruce Davies became the first recipient of the Nick Mollé Tourism Legacy Award during the Visit Estes Park Tourism Summit.

Davies remembered Mollé as a gifted storyteller who connected people with nature through his documentaries, including The Living Dream, which explores Enos Mills and the creation of Rocky Mountain National Park. Christina Kraft honored as a Woman of Distinction

Christina Kraft, Bank of Colorado’s market president in Estes Park, was selected as one of 13 Northern Colorado Women of Distinction by BizWest.

Recognized in the Banking and Finance category, Kraft has more than 20 years of banking experience, including 13 years with Bank of Colorado. She was honored for her professional achievements, community leadership, and service throughout the Estes Valley. Read the full story.
