From the Daily News Now Network, this is Corey with the story with entertainment and celebrity news today. Kurt Russell has a special fondness for log homes that started in his childhood. His favorite place today is a large log cabin lodge on a ranch in Old Snowmass, Colorado, where he moved in more than 40 years ago. That love traces back to a log cabin his grandparents built in Rangely Main in 1939. After his dad, a minor league baseball player, got injured and left the sport. The family moved from Maine to Florida and then to California. They are Russell stepped into acting following his father's path. He first met Goldie Hahn on a movie set in 1967 and they got together for good in 1983 while working on another film. These days, the couple, both in their 80s, splits time between homes in Los Angeles, Palm Desert, New York, and that Colorado ranch. They share a passion for real estate, especially log cabins, which lets them enjoy a mix of city life and mountain retreats.

Russell first headed to Colorado at age 26 to live life on his own terms, even while keeping his career based in Los Angeles. He loves waking up to mountain views, riding horses from the barn, and relaxing by the fireplace, all while staying connected to nature. He's channeling that western lifestyle into his new show, The Madison, starring with Michelle Pfeiffer. His long history with things like fly fishing makes the role feel natural.
