Kurt Russell's Elvis Encounter: A Fifty-Cent Kick

0:00Entertainment stories making news on March 12th. Kurt Russell recently shared a fun memory from his first movie role alongside Elvis Presley. Back in 1963, the then-young actor appeared and it happened at the world's fair. He got paid 50 cents to kick Elvis in the shins as part of the scene and he actually did it for real. Russell talked about this on late night with Seth Myers while promoting his new show. He noted that Elvis was just 27 years old during filming. The same age Russell was when he later played the king himself in the 19-79 biopic. The story got even better when Russell brought up his dad, actor Bing Russell. On set in Los Angeles, Elvis spotted Bing and asked to meet him. He complimented how Bing wore his hat in cowboy movies and even copied the style in his own film, Sharo. Russell's early TV gigs include it shows like Dennis the Menace before this big screen debut. His dad also appeared in that Elvis biopic, playing the singer's father Vernon.
