Kevin Spacey Settles Sex Assault Lawsuits

0:00It's March 19th, and here's what's happening across the world right now. Three men accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual assault have settled their civil lawsuits out of court in London. The claims involved alleged incidents from 2000 to 2013, and Spacey has denied everything. Trials were scheduled to begin later this year at the High Court, but Judge Christina Lambert paused the cases last week. She noted that parties had agreed to confidential settlement terms, staying all further proceedings. Spacey, now 66, faced a criminal trial in London in 2023 on nine sex offense charges from four men. He was acquitted on every count, and two of these civil claimants testified against him there. He also won a separate civil case in New York in 2022, defeating a $40 million lawsuit from actor Anthony Rapp. The settlement order dated March 13th when public this Wednesday.
