Kentucky's Elite Backcourt: Diallo & Wilkins

0:00On April 24th, Mark Pope has locked in his starting back court for Kentucky's 2026-27 season with two key transfers. Zoomed the aloe from Washington and Alex Wilkins from Furman, both committed and signed, and they're coming in as starters, not bench guys. These dudes bring elite passing chops that blow away last year's Wildcats. Kentucky's top assist rate was just 24.5% from Jasper Johnson, while Diallo hit 30.3% and Wilkins. Crushed it at 34.7% numbers that put them in rare air. Basketball analytics guru Evan Miyakawa broke it down on his YouTube channel, giving both an A grade and assists. Diallo earned an A-minus in overall playmaking, despite some turnovers, with Miyakawa saying the risks pay off big in killer passes. Wilkins got a B in playmaking because of an F in turnovers, ranking him outside the top 400 transfers this offseason. But at Furman, he showed her massive ball handling duties to drag his team to the NCAA tournament and battle Yukon.
