He pointed out the team's massive $22 million dollar name, image, and likeness spending on players, questioning why it didn't translate to a stronger squad. Kentucky fans seemed to echo Vitale's frustration after a season full of letdowns. The program, known for its success, has underperformed despite the investment, leaving supporters disappointed as March madness approaches. A big blow came early in January, when point guard Jalen Lowe suffered a shoulder injury, sidelining their main floor leader. That left Denzel Aberdeen and Otega Away as the primary playmakers exposing depth issues on offense.
