Kentucky Basketball Lands Hometown Hero Jerome Morton

This comes right after Big Man, Muhammad Dewby, bounced to Lexington's rivals, sparking some heat on Coach Mart Pope. Morton, a six-foot-four-gar from right here in the bluegrass, steps in to fill that void with a real starting experience. Earlier this week, insider Joe Tipton broke the news on on-three in rivals. Morton started 51 games over three college seasons, first lighting it up at Morehead State with 10.4 points per game his last year. There, he then headed west to the Cougars, averaging 7.8 points and dropping double figures in 11 games. Fans are buzzing about this homecoming story. Morton balled out in high school at George Rogers Park in Winchester, leading them to a state title in 2021-22, and averaging 19.6 points as a senior. He was the number two prospect in Kentucky that year, but flew under the radar nationally, starting small in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Now Morton's back in his home state, ready to bring that scoring spark and experience to the Wildcats back court as they rebuild through the portal.
