About this episode

In 2013, Kendrick Johnson was a sophomore at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia. KJ, as he was known, was popular, athletic, and intelligent. On January 10, 2013, KJ was at school but, he was not seen in the afternoon. He didn't attend any of his later classes and he never came home that night. The next day, KJ's body was found vertical, upside down, in the school gym in a vertical rolled-up 6-foot mat.  Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious death of Kendrick Johnson. Officials ruled his death an accident, theorizing that KJ died after getting stuck in the mat trying to retrieve a pair of shoes. His parents want the investigation into his death reopened because they believe he was killed. They believe there were numerous missteps in the investigation into their son's death.  You can help support the show at patreon.com/truecrimeallthetime Visit the show's website at truecrimeallthetime.com for contact, merchandise, and donation information An Emash Digital Production See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
