First I want to talk about what I did this morning because I'm hoping it'll help somebody. Yesterday was a fine day. I mean nothing bad. It was just jam-packed. So by the end of it I was tired. I made some dinner hopped into bed before I knew it. I was out and I didn't wake up till morning. Thank goodness. Nonetheless I woke up

feeling I'm still tired. I'm still tired. It was very stressful but not in a negative way. I mean you know you could have a million things to do and they're all appropriate for the reality of your life and it doesn't mean anything is bad. It just means there's a lot and I still have an unpacked a lot of box I think boxes are having sex in the garage and they're making babies. I'm sure of it. Every time I go in there they held a discount for me. So you know every day I'm trying to do my bit to get rid of boxes in some days I am heroic and other days not so much perhaps. So I kind of am a very disciplined person and that's a

good thing and sometimes a bit of annoyance because if my body and mind are not in the right place to follow through on what I'm disciplined about it's a little bit of torture. So what do you do? So I was in my closet area which is kind of like a room. I mean this is a small house but the way they built it is amazing. The closet I think is bigger than the bedroom. Anyway I pulled up in a box and there was a big zip lock with these six gorgeous balls of sort of turquoise light turquoise just real pretty yarn and the beginning of a project. And I haven't worked on yarn in a long time. Beautiful wool from England and in the box also was the instructions for a sweater and it was crochet. And so I looked

at what I had done. I had done three rows. That was it. Three rows. So all you get babe and this is kind of a little more advanced project than I normally got. So you know every row you had to do something different. Say how to keep that organized in your head and I don't keep it organized in my head. I make three by five cards and if I have to do a sequence of four things ten times I move the cards so I'm always doing the correct row because one of the things that I discovered when I'm knitting or crocheting is my mind relaxes to the point that it wanders off and I'll lose count and all of that sort of stuff. So I looked at where I was. I looked at the instructions and I went oh god these are complicated instructions and I have so much to do. I have to unpack this bag

word. This box rather than it all came out of blah blah blah and then I went where is it written? Where is it written? Am I going to put myself to bed with no suffer? If I don't empty out this whole box right now no no it would be nice but it's not a blickatory. So I sat down and for a half an hour I crocheted. And suddenly I started to relax. I sat on a step not even a chair a step which is not the world's most comfortable thing to do for yourself but I was in the closet and there was a step. There's one area and then there are two steps in another area. And I thought it was wonderful and I thought I needed to share that with you folks because I think you push yourselves too hard sometimes. And

maybe a half an hour an hour an hour and a half, two hours. You stop doing the obligatory and you do something that puts you more in a Zen mode. And suddenly I wasn't going oh god there are so many boxes. I went eh there are lots of boxes and I'm sitting here and I'm crocheting. They're boxes. Eventually all the stuff will find a home. Give it away, give it a charity. I don't bother like selling stuff. I don't have the interest for the patience for that. I know there are a lot of people who have the smarts of how to do that. But it'll all be taken care of. Right now this is what my mind and body need. That's the point I wanted to convey to you. The boxes needed to be put away but that's not

what my mind and body needed at the time. So I gave my mind and body priority because if I didn't what difference would it make if the boxes were put away if I'm a frenzied miss especially before doing the program. Right? Especially before going home to your family especially before your kids come home from school especially before their other family issues. That's what I want you to think about from now on. So a lot of you put the things you have to do, have to do above and beyond your own mental physical well-being and the priority of your children and spouses or the work responsibility of human beings that you have. I remember a million years ago

I guess I was in a bit of a competition with another female on air host and we were both interviewed by different people and in the photographs they took of the interviews with me I was on a bicycle I was hiking I'm doing crafts doing all of this stuff you know they took pictures of all of it and in a different interview totally different circumstance with her they brought up all the things that I did and evidently she made the point she didn't bother with that because she had responsibilities and they come back to me and say she said this and I said well I look at it this way I was a carpenter I'd have to keep all my

tools sharp all the things that I do keep my brain in body sharp so then I can do my job just a different way of looking at things want you to keep your mind and body sharp for the things that really matter and the things that really matter include people my number 1-800-375-28-72 if you like this podcast be sure to rate it on Apple podcasts or your favorite place to listen to my podcast of course I'd love if you gave me five stars and be sure to share this podcast with friend on Facebook or your preferred social media platform.
