Keenan Girls Basketball Chases State Title

0:00On March 1st, the Keenan High School Girls Basketball team earned a spot in the Class 3A State Championship with a strong 62-2. 43 win over Oceanside Collegiate in the lower state final. Taylor Lee Sutton, the Class 3A player of the year, led with 18 points while air on a Kaufman at its 17. Keenan now heads into the title game on a 14-game winning streak, sitting at 20 wins and 6 losses overall. They will face Wallhalla, who beat St. Joseph's 60-53 in the upper state championship. For Keenan, this marks their 10th trip to the state finals with their last title in 2022. The game tips off at 2pm, Friday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, just 9 miles from their campus, giving them a real home field edge. Coach Reggie McLean highlighted that nearby location as key motivation all season, pushing the team to fight for this spot. Players noted big improvements in defense, since last year's playoff lost to Oceanside.
