Two sea kayakers got a dramatic rescue from Coast Guard teams on Thursday after rough seas pushed them toward rocky cliffs between Dunbar and St. Ab's. Coast Guard crews from Dunbar, I'm Out, and Barrick scrambled around 2.40pm when reports came in about the pair struggling near Fast Castle Inn. The Lumsdain area, lifeboats and ground-robed teams couldn't get close enough because of the nasty conditions, so they called in a helicopter to winch the kayakers out, safely. Once on solid ground, medics checked them over, they were chilled to the bone from the cold water, but walked away without any serious injuries. Shout out to these pros for spotting trouble early. Gearing up right and dialing for help fast, it was a solid team of across agencies that turned a bad spot into a win. You've been listening to Edinburgh News today, AI-powered local news.
