Kansas Dominates Kansas State on Senior Day

Freshman sensation Darren Peterson led with 27 points on 10-15 shooting, while seniors Trey White and Melvin Council, Jr. delivered stand-out performances in their final home games. White, a transfer from Illinois, posted 23 points and 11 rebounds. Coming over from St. Bonneventure, came close to a triple double with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists. The J-Hawks improved to 22 wins and 9 losses overall, 12 and 6 in the Big 12. This victory clinched a double buy for Kansas in next week's conference tournament, marking their 43rd straight senior day win. It also served as a big confidence lift after dropping four of their last six games. Kansas State hung tough early, but the J-Hawks seats control midway through the first half and led 46 to 33 at the break. The Wildcats, now 12 and 19, got back within 11 points a few times, but couldn't close the gap, finishing 3 and 15 in, conference play.
