The bald eagle was chosen as the national symbol for the United States of America in 1782 because of its long life, great strength, and majestic looks. It was the look of a new nation. I recently watched The Great Awakening, the story of the love between two friends, the Reverend George Whitfield and Benjamin Franklin, and how our nation was saved by George Whitfield.The Constitutional Convention of 1787 was failing, and it looked as though our country would collapse from within until Benjamin Franklin remembered the wonderful prayers and the strength of Christians like George Whitfield. And Benjamin Franklin proposed that every morning begins with a Christian prayer. It's what founded this country.In the 1787 Constitutional Convention, Christ once again saved this country.
