July 15, 2026: Canucks start vs McDavid; NHL changes opening night

It's mid July but time to start planning your hockey season! Matt and Blake take a look ahead as the NHL announces opening night in the NHL season. The guys discuss the changes and look ahead to the full schedule announcement tomorrow. Also, the guys take a deeper look at the Shane Wright possibility for the Canucks and what that would look like in the lineup. BC sportscasting legend Don Taylor re-joins his old friends to discuss the direction of the Canucks, the World Cup in the city, and of course the sports media changes in the city of late. Whitecaps captain Ryan Gauld stops by to chat about his highly anticipated return to MLS action. Gauld chronicles his time away, the recent appearances vs Cavalry, and the chances to make another march to MLS Cup. The Scottish international also weighs in on the World Cup reaction in the city, Scotland's reputation at the tournament, and his choice to win it all. Matt and Blake finish up with a look at the latest on the Whitecaps bid for BC Place amanagement, the World Cup's final week, and the possibility of England winning an Open Championship and the World Cup on the same day?!
