Jose Berrios Out, Rookies Step Up for Blue Jays

Manager John Schneider shared the news on March 18th at Spring Training Camp. The issue came to light during an MRI Barrios, got for insurance reasons as he hoped to pitch for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic. Schneider noted there's no pain right now, which is positive, and the team plans to keep a close eye on it moving forward. The 31-year-old two-time All-Star, when 9-5, with a 4.17 ERA, over 30 starts last year for Toronto. This shakes up the starting rotation to begin the year, paving the way for Kevin Galsman, Dylan Seas, Max Sherzer, Cody Ponce, and Eric Lauer. Rookie Trey, yes, a Vodge, could step in too, though he's only thrown two innings this Spring and might need time to ramp up his pitch count first.
