Joey's Christmas Story | The Shadow (12-22-40)

About this episode

Every year, Lamont and Margot take young Joey, a paperboy, to see the Christmas decorations at the local department stores. One afternoon, while picking him up from his paper route, Lamont notices Joey still has a few papers left. Eager to get to the stores, Lamont buys the remaining papers. Joey, always thinking of others, suggests they donate the papers to the needy—especially his friend Hobo Sam, who uses newspaper stuffing to stay warm on cold winter nights.

While delivering the papers to Sam, Joey overhears something troubling: one of his friend's fathers is planning to commit a murder. Concerned, Joey urges Lamont—being a gentleman detective—to step in, believing he can act faster than the police to prevent the crime.
