Jets Strengthen Defense with Fitzpatrick, Ossai Signings

They sent over a 2026-7-ground pick in exchange and planned to sign them to a three-year 40-million-dollar deal. Not done yet, the Jets locked in Ed rusher, Joseph Asci, from the Cincinnati Bengals, on a three-year 36-million-dollar contract. That includes $22.5 million fully guaranteed. These picks strengthen the defense under head coach Aaron Glenn. Just before, they swapped her main Johnson to the Tennessee Titans for defensive linemen to Vandre Sweat, plugging a key gap up front. O'Sy, a 25-year-old talent, steps into a bigger role after growing with the Bengals. He joins Will McDonald the Fourth to build a solid edge group right away. Looking ahead, the Jets added other defensive pieces in free agency. They eyed the 2026 draft, likely grabbing another pass rusher with their number two overall pick.
