So I strategically placed myself as close as possible by being covered. They missed the whole game. I actually, it was the rain was the annoying like Jake, I know you went to school similar area than me. It was very, we called me an alkylshat to my brother and a lot of jack on this.

5:06He calls it SUNY weather. Where it's just cloudy and like slightly misting and not cold but not warm. So a lot of SUNY weather yesterday in the in the middle ends. And a lot of pain which is a lot of excitement into a lot of pain. Let's start with just the really the decision making from the field goal on that put the Jets up 10. So what happened down the stretch from your vantage point? Where did it all go wrong for the Jets in this loss? All right. So I think I'll try to be short-winded, which is hard for me to do, but I'll do my vest on this. I would say I don't disagree. I would have leaned go for it at 14-7 to go for it on fourth and two. That said they haven't been effective. Obviously in short yardage they were really good on fourth and last week, but like generally speaking, they haven't been a team that's proven they can pick up the two yards when it's needed yet, right? We haven't seen them establish that and going up 10 points with on their time to go, where are your defenses playing well? It does make sense.

6:07Again, I'd like to see you know, you want to come to the aggressiveness. I was hoping they would they'd go for it there, but I like the idea. I'll try to draw them off-size. The packers were just playing stupid football all day and you were like, hey, maybe they jump here. You pick up free yards, but you also, you know, again, going up 10 with under 10 minutes to go Jake and at home, you feel pretty good where you're at. So like I thought it's hard to blame them too much there. Again, I think they botched at the end of the game. There's no doubt about it. I think, you know, everyone, you know, even internally could admit they fuck made, sorry. They messed up yesterday. Like there's no question. I liked going for it. On fourth and one at the 50th, I did. We want this coach to be aggressive. We want us, you know, we're an underdog at home. You're three and a half point dogs at home. You know, you know, tie ball game. You kind of lose a momentum there. You know, you feel like, hey, you know, if we get this first down, the game's over. So I didn't hate that. I actually didn't even hate taking the ball to start overtime. I just really thought they botched the end of the game. The end of the game madness that was that final minute in 11 seconds.

7:09I thought Aryan Smith not making the fumble by Braylon Allen, or Gina, whoever you want to blame, right, whoever's whoever's a blame there. And then the Aryan Smith not tackling on that pun return. He killed them because green bit. I don't think green day, I don't know if green base drive and to score there, that feel goal. So that was really disappointing because I think the coverage units yesterday, we can talk about the coach, we can talk about Frank Reich and the players executing special teams, which has been a staple for this, this, oh, see, it's franchise for a long time.

10:17They return game history, Jake in kicking game in the punk game and kickoff return. It probably cost them 10 points either way. They were backed up all day and then they could never get the packers down inside. And when they did back them up, Jake, they scored because they got good field position. And that's how the NFL works. So that was pretty fresh. That's where I think they lost the game was that sequence of end of the third quarter, getting that breeze big play to not come away with points, not a touchdown. And they go up 17, seven and then they get not making a tackle on a good punt down with we'd be still up three. I felt like that was, those are the plays in the game where, you know, we're going to talk about the end of the game, but the end of the game doesn't happen if they, you know, execute better in a couple other areas. And despite all that though, here they are with the end point lead. And I'm sorry, we all want this head coach to show improvement, but these glaring end of half decisions, which he said last year, the last four minutes of each half along to the head coach,

11:17will in three of the four end of halves, the jets have had this year. They've been a mess and the end of regulation yesterday. I mean, that is a game that we will point to if we're debating Aaron Glendale at the end of its borderline. We're going to say, well, this game happened. If he is another game like that, he's cooked. You cannot lose games like that because of your head coach, a mediocre coach, you win. Yeah. And I didn't like Aaron Glendale getting a full, you know, 18 hours to reflect on what happened. And his answer today was basically doubling down on it. I thought the press conference this morning was just as bad as the in game decision making at the end of regulation. Someone needs to pull him aside and say, dude, we screwed up. You screwed up. Here's what you did. I mean, you had Matt LaFlor being asked about it during his press or yesterday. And he said he was really confused by the jets decision to not call a time out at the end of regulation. It just, it just can't happen, man. I mean, this was as bad as the London game against Denver last year that you were at. It's just, it's mind boggling that a head coach who clearly has shown a willingness to

12:22try and adapt and improve and Aaron Glendale, the defensive coordinator through two games, has done a nice job. Yeah. But the Aaron Glendale head coach is holding back the rest of the team. And that can't happen. I wonder, Jake, and this, and this is not even me making excuses. This is me just trying to figure out what's kind of going on here. It feels like they're overthinking it. I feel like it's like they're almost trying so hard to do everything like so. I'm trying to think of the very way I could like phrase this where people are not going to be like, oh, you're defending. I'm not defending Glenn. I just said they botched at the end of the game. There's no doubt about it. The whole staff botched. But like it almost feels like they're overthinking it too much. And it's like, just like, you know, the whole don't let go of the rogue thing. Like I almost think if they just like eased up on the battle a little bit, it's like they're choking in the batter's box, trying to make the, like, find their exact right pitch. It's like no one would kill you if you mess it up, but you're just kind of trying to do something different. I think the Hail Mary thing doesn't bother me quite as much before at the end of the first halves of both games.

13:22I actually think Gina was really to blame in week one. He should, he should check down which you just can't do with 20 seconds left and no time, one time out left. Like you can't do that. So I don't think that's necessarily a Glenn. Again, I don't, I don't love not throwing Hail Mary. I, Jake, I wonder, I said this on the pod today. I do wonder like, have they practiced Hail Mary's enough in a camp and been like, this looks awful. And then like we, unless we really, really have to use it, I'm getting that making excuse. I'm just trying to figure out like why they haven't taken the Hail Mary's. I think they're probably like, they want to double up right and they had a perfect opportunity to, I thought once they got, Glenn said this yesterday, once they got the first down to 80 Mitchell and third and 11 to end the first half. It was about 218 left. Good. Take it to two minute warning. They were trying to make it get cute where it's like, we're going to double them up and we're not going to get the packers a chance to have a football back. It's like, all that sounds great in theory, but like game, game script wise, like just go, you know, and just try to keep momentum and don't get too cute with it. You know, I feel like they're trying to get too cute trying to be perfect. And it's like, you don't have to be perfect, man. It's okay. You know, I mean, that is a scary role. I just, I don't understand.

14:23You don't try to say like it's just trying to be too perfect. It's, it's football, man. Like, like, trust your players to make plays. And again, like, that's why I don't understand not calling a time out with a minute and two seconds to go at the end of regulation. You got two time outs. I just, I don't. His answer was he didn't want to get pin deep. Who can't? Like, I thought about that too. But then I was like, my only thinking was a fear of potential, like penalties and things like that, you know, running into the kicker, a fumble, Isaiah, I was trying to think of like what's maybe, so you know, you do, you don't even have a return. 17:29Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. It's inexcusable man and him doubling down on it today. It's that's the stuff where he loses the famous the jet fan who's trying to buy into him showing improvement and things being different. No, dude, it's like you're sitting there at 17 seven. You're like, dude, this guy is the best defensive coordinator they've had since Rex. Like that's what I was that's what I was sitting there thinking. I was like, they're giving up seven points a game. Like with missing Minka and missing, you know, Ponds and missing those silings guys. I'm like, dude, this defense is playing like honestly more impressive to me than even under solow, where like they were better defense under solace, right? Like there's more talent. Like these aren't like most of the defense are not household names. And they're flying around. I'm like, they got Garrett scoring touchdown. Breeze is getting active. They're not playing all the way still up. I know. You wasted all of it. And these were conversations we did have with Robert Salow. Where it's like, well, at least he's the next one on his side of the ball. What can you expect? He doesn't have a quarterback. I think Geno Smith is outplayed. Cam Ward and Jordan love through the Jets first two games. I will say Jordan love is really fun to watch.

18:29And I know it's not worth talking about. But like did he is like the way his just like aesthetic of how he plays quarterback is like awesome. And you know better. But like they quite literally lost the game that has never happened before. Like I keep coming back to this nugget from Rich Samiti, who by the way him and I and Brandon Tierney have our latest jet collective podcast live tonight at six p.m. Eastern. So check that out. He's going to blow a gasket. I can't. And he was picking them all week to win and guarantee and they're going to go to an L. And I'm just like I just don't trust this coaching staff. But like for the Jets to lose this game. Will you see it on the screen there? They became the first team on record to lose a game holding an opponent to less than 200 yards. Having a hundred plus or the opponent having a hundred plus penalty yards. The Jets actually won the turnover margin plus one. They should have won it by more than that with all the five. But entering today or yesterday teams for 44 and O and that scenario. So you only lose that game because of your head coach. If you had John Harbock coaching the Jets or Mike Tomlin or insert her. However, they don't lose. And here's the thing.

19:30This is a pattern with Aaron Glenn. His in game decision making with clock management timeouts when the challenge awful challenge yesterday. By the way, it's why they didn't have any timeouts at the end of the first time. You want to challenge it? No, there was not. I don't know. You couldn't see in the stadium. It looked like the Jets. So I'm just I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm more saying it was clearly a fumble, right? Obviously, we'd sell the fumble in the stadium. It was like hard to tell who recovered it, but the Jets players came out with the ball. And there's no one. They were saying there was just no video. But there was no video. I couldn't tell. And then everyone was like, Oh, it's Jets ball. And I was like, I'm in the stadium and like, I assume it's Jets ball. And then they came back out. There's no clear recovery. So I was like, damn, like, I was like kind of disappointed because I got excited. It was like they reacted like they recovered it. It was obviously a fumble. So I was like, Oh, sweet. After they just I think they forced the fumble to play before right? Jake didn't say back back. Yeah. God damn it. It was just again, it's like these things. They're so improved in so many ways. It's so frustrating because like this is such an easy team to buy in on.

20:31An insanely likable team. And like, that's the problem. They're they're vastly improved. But in the NFL, you're going to play a lot of. No, I'm not making it. They law I get in the day, man. Like, I say there'll be other games where Aaron Glenn's going to have to manage this stuff. And it will be improves, right? I think, you know, to me like, what if he can't like we've now have a, if he can, he's probably done after the year, right? Like if he can and he costs them a bunch of games, like he, it's probably not for him. If you hope that he can continue to improve and I think he's improved and like, it's like right now, it's like he's so close to like figuring it out that it's, that's what makes it almost more frustrating. And I'm not, again, not making excuses for like he messed, they messed up again. I will first tell you like they bought just today. It was super disappointing. I'm frustrated that like a guy who I feel like has shown a lot of the things like he told us defensive calling was his superpowers and he's, and he's probably right like that. It might be a superpower, but it's just, it's the little things right now that, you know, they have to get together and it's not just Glenn, it's right. It's Gina. Everyones to be on the same page, they, but they burned three time outs yesterday on

21:32Gina, like call him plays, trying to get people to jump off sides. And like I love the idea of like so many of these things make sense, Jake. Again, this is just being too cute, being trying to be too perfect. Sometimes it's, it's okay to like not have to go not to be the smartest guy in the room. You know, sometimes when like I'm going to use a different example that I think you'll really do, the Yankees sometimes try to be the race. And what they're, they try to get too cute and be perfect and show how smart they are. You know, when the Yankees are the best, when they act like the fucking Yankees and they just dominate you, right? Like that's just a reality of it. And it's like sometimes just be who you are. Like Glenn actually I think inherently wants to be aggressive, but then it's like you're getting too cute. Like you went for a four times Jake, what six times you made the right decision last week. I'm like, when percentage of going for it, not going for it, we were all like, wow, even the one that got called back, they think they went for it, what two for two, they really went for three times on four down last week. I feel like they executed flawlessly. And then yesterday it felt like they got like timid and it's like they didn't even play games, too. But here's where I would disagree with you. You think he's close.

22:34I don't think he's close. I think he's close. No, I mean, I'm saying like, I'm saying this close, this team is close and he's close in terms of like they fixed their biggest problem from last year, which was obviously the defense was just beyond awful. And they have a professional quarterback. Yeah, and they have a professional quarterback. So they fixed that part of saying like they've gotten, they're getting so much closer, like now they're in games, right? And like always different things. But man, I just, you just can't, you can't win if your head coach cannot handle the responsibility. Yeah, no, he's got me better. You know, like there's no. And here's another issue. I know people are killing right. And certainly blame Frank Reich. Can Braille and Alan lower shoulder, dude? But the head coach could say to the offense, the coordinator were running QB sneak over running the Cedique sneak over running our version of the touch blush. I don't know why they wouldn't refuse to run anything horse on. I tweeted during the game history. The one drive they ran the football well. The Packers were just looking. We guys are stacked inside the inside day and the B gap right now. And they're all under center and run a toss or get under center and let Braille and Alan get a running start as a batter. I think that's a good thing.

23:34I arguably would have thrown out of this. What you could have done as well. I just said it in a shotgun run, especially I know Braille and Alan looks like he's his amazing short yardage back. He's actually not. He's very bad at this. Like Nate Hackett would try the same exact BS Frank Reich tried yesterday with the shotgun run on fourth and short. And like again, a well coach team is able to have a short yardage play like what the Eagles do, like what the Steelers do with Friar Mooth as their QB sneak. It feels like Josh Allen, but still it's like that. This is what the good teams in the league. They have a plan for short yardage situation. And the fact that the Jets could not get this to go for them. This cost on the game as well. Like these things all add up. I didn't have an issue going for it here. I really didn't have an issue taking the point see there on the previous possession. And I know it's you know it's even I don't know if you would have agreed with this. I think if they would have scored it over time, I would have gone for two. Interesting. I don't know what I would have done then. I would have to say I mean like if you're going to go for it on fourth and one there, right? And let's say they get it, but they miss a kick for whatever. I don't just like play out the scenario that like it works.

24:35They're aggressive, but they're whatever. I kind of wonder if like they you know, I feel like I don't know. I just I want them to be consistent, man. Like that's the thing with Glenn. I think it's what frustrating is like last week I feel like they were hyper aggressive. And you were like really excited about it. And then this week it felt like they were aggressive at points, but then not. And it's like you kind of want to just see like full pedal to the metal and not be so. He has a defensive coordinator mentality is the head coach. Yeah. He doesn't sometimes that's why I'm like I want you to just fully embrace it. So well, this is why there's only been one ever defensive minded head coach who calls the defensive plays that's won a Super Bowl. And it was Mike McDonald last year. I heard Brian Castello get that nugget on his podcast today with Ryan Samson. So it's like again, one and the inconsistencies is what drives me crazy. So Aaron Glenn at the end of regulation did not trust his offense with one time out and let's say around 50 seconds that get the ball back. If they call time out after the initial stop on the Packers possession there in no world. One should Green Bay actually get a Hail Mary off at the end of the game.

25:38Thank God Kingsley and Abari made a great play. I was like Jesus Christ. He got Jordan love killed. But like look at it right here right? A minute. Time out. You're going to get the ball back. Let's say around 50 seconds. So okay, you don't trust your offense there. But then in overtime Glenn's rationale for taking the ball was they were going to be able to go down the field. Yeah, and then they threw it two times and they started the drive with two pass plays, which is just it's ass and I man. The inconsistencies is what drives the gem thing. I got one of the consistent man like Salah was just always conservative right? Like he just always was like would always hunt inside the 45. Let's say I'm saying like I think the frustrating thing with Glenn and again, I'm not trying to like defend him. I'm more just saying like what I think I forget frustrated with is like there's so many times where you're like oh, like that's that's awesome. That was cool. Like last week I was just like and even going for him fourth and one there. I was like hell yeah, dude. Like the Jets coaches of pass would never go for this. Like I like that they're kind of doing the new age like why are we going to play overtime?

26:39Over time doesn't favor, you know, isn't going to favor us or the team that's been playing better throughout the game and you think it happened. We don't have momentum. Let's just go for it. And then it's at the same time like then you get conservative at a different part. You know, I mean, it's like just be aggressive all the time. If that's I feel like if you want to be like that, that's cool. I think Conor said on on a recap. Obviously, it was like I just want them to be consistent with their identity right now. It's like they want to be really good defense, turn the football over really good on specials, efficient in the passing game, run the football. But in some ways like what benefits this team right now is like the the run may have to get opened up by the pass or we might have to go for it be aggressive on four downs, you know, more so we might have to. But then he's afraid to throw a hell marry will the right. That's right. It's just I don't think he's learning. I don't think like again, the bar is so low for this team. It was from oh well, if the Giants are able to win some games and Dart looks like a franchise quarterback, you can't fire Brian Dable. Well the problem was Dart was the reason why you were in games and Dable was the reason why you were losing games with all these collapses. It cost him his job and guess what Joe Shane stuck around somehow. Like that's the collision course we are on. If Aaron Glenn continues to be the reason why we lead games and go man, the gesture won today. Like they were the better team. And now here's the defining moment for Aaron Glenn is the jet coach these next two weeks. Because prior jet teams after a loss like that, they fold, they collapsed.

30:50We saw what happened last year. Now you're in a spot where you're going on the road and have seen North opponents. They would show me. They would really show me something. I know lines are beat up and whatever. But as a touchdown dog, if they go in there and let's just say they know it's also fun. He said the loss wouldn't define them well. No, but I hope they won and I, nothing would make any of us all of us have, nothing would make all of us happier than like to prove many wrong. I said this to you all off season like nothing would be nicer than just being able to be like, wow, what a great story. They kind of overcame this and figured it out. I'm not saying that he can't figure it out. I'm just saying that at the end of the day, man, like just being more eyes need consistency. I think the jets have crossed these little hurdles so far this summer and so far early in the season that we were looking for in a lot of ways. I think that like I said this before, I tweeted it. If you told me the jets one week one, the way they did it, and then they lost 2017 to Packers, no tea on the face of it, you'd probably take that coming to the season. The reason it's hard to stomach it is because of the way that they were dominating the game yesterday.

31:53And that's like one and one just doesn't feel the same as the way it would have, you know, a year ago or two years ago or even in the summer, like looking at the schedule. So I just say like we all said, can they get to two and two to the Cleveland game? If they can do that, they have a real shot because they have a shot to be competitive throughout the rest of the year. You had a shot, man, you do. You've played well enough through two weeks. They've led for 106 to the 127 minutes or whatever. A regulation they've led for almost like a 90% of the season. They've outgain teams. They have a fifth high, I think fifth best, like plus minus in terms of yardage. They've won the turnover battles. They've, I think they've been the better team through two weeks. But if you, you know, it all falls off the wagon as you mentioned, and then you let it spiral. And this is why, Jake, and me and you have talked about so many times, this is so important for this group of players to be playing competitive football games because you won't learn how to win if you continue to never be in these spots.

32:53And they were barely in the spot at all last year. And they barely were in this spot at all in years past. And that would happen just you have no idea what you're doing until you get in the situation, right? Everyone thinks they can be in the military until they're playing Calduty and then they actually get in the spotlight and things change. So I hope they're in a tight game again. Everyone playing Madden would have handled the clock better at the end of each album. Yeah, no, listen, man, we've all, we've all, you know, how about the fact you said he didn't even think about using a timeout at the end of the regular season? No, I'm not even pushing back. I'm more saying like, I really listened to that because I was, I think, even doesn't even matter because it's still the wrong answer. But he was like, I think he thought they were asking about with 11 seconds left initially and then he was, and they were like, no, at the end of the game and then he doubled down. So like, I understand in some ways, hey, I want to play for a overtime, but you can't say that. It's just one of those things where like, Jake, you can think it, but you can't say it. Like you just say, I'll have, hey, well, you can't play for overtime and then take the ball first of that. Yeah. And also the contrary to what you're thinking. I thought the defense was gassed and I was like, okay, maybe this is why they're taking the ball.

33:56That was what I thought in the stadium was like, oh, the defense has been on the field a lot in the fourth quarter. They're trying to basically like steal a possession. That's what I at least what I thought. And then like looking at it, that's not really the reasoning. So. Well, that's the thing though. You're thinking like a head coach. Then the head coach actually tries to explain why he did it. Like even the analytics, sure, the analytics. Yes, technically they work. Like I understand that the math makes more sense, but in some ways, I just again, it's just consistency, Jake. I think that was the most frustrating thing yesterday. It was just like, thing go. It was inconsistency. How about this? So Ryan Pregnatti says that the Jets have an analytics person helping during game day. And they gave this bad info to him. They should be held accountable. Someone committed in malpractice here. So Scott Turner, who was the former Pascane coordinator for the New York Jets, and he's also the former Aaron Glenn says they have one of the best in the league. The coach has to listen to him though. Again, I think in these moments where you're in these tight, you got to make a quick decision. You're on the sideline. There's a million things happening. He's also the play caller on defense. I think it's very hard for Aaron Glenn to multitask and do both.

35:00I think there was obvious last year when he struggled with this. He didn't really get that much better. There were some moments where there were still some clear debacles where he didn't know what he was doing. And this just hasn't improved yet. And like some guys just aren't built to be head coaches. And he gets 15 more games to try and change the narrative. But this will be a loss that we look back on and go man. They were up 10 on the fourth quarter against the Green Bay Packers at home with MetLife Rocking. They could have been 2 and 0 with some winable games coming up. And the whole trajectory of the season could be different. And now we'll see how they respond because it's going to be, you know, one of those does it spiral out of control like prior Jets teams, including last year's Glenn disaster or are they ready to go? Can they win one of the next two and give this fan base a season coming home to play the Browns? Yeah, that's the tip man. Like I'm just yet to figure it out. Get the get back on the wagon inside. It's one of the most fun parts about the NFL every week. You win the Super Bowl every week. You're picking first overall and you're never going to win a game again. Good news is they have six days. Gun gets to go home. A reeling lines team that is horrendous defensively. You know, and again, I'm not saying that Glenn is better than Ben Johnson.

36:04It is just funny that Glenn, when he's called the play is you can see the difference. The lines have been a disaster defensively without Glenn. And I'm not saying he's the only reason, but it's like it's so frustrating Jake. It's just like find a way man. Find a way. Find a way. Find a way. Find a way. Find a way. And we'd be selling. The thing it just feels different. Like the one thing I'm hopeful is that like they won week one. Everyone's talking well about them and they came out and they played really for most part. Obviously we just talked about a million times how they bought you in the game, but like they pass the they're not going to just come out sleepwalk and you know play like dog crap and like and get blown out. That's great. That's a nice little check in the box. You still lost the game. So now we flip back to last year, right? We were on the show, Jake and you were like World Victory's or BS. I don't care. Let's see what you have against Buffalo and they totally late Nick. Can they change this this year where they come out and hey, they lose 30 to 27 in Detroit. And they look totally prepared. It's a totally different atmosphere game. You're like, wow, things are different. They wouldn't wait to for against Chicago without Caleb, which is I don't know, playing that.

37:04You know, hypothetical game. And they're like, wow, that's a huge improvement from what we've seen in years past from Jets teams. If you come out and you lose 30 to 13 on Sunday, and you look at prepared, then that's a huge problem. Or you know, you can do this thing called win Jay and they can go on upset the lines and be touched down. They would have a care business. Yeah, it just sucks is they would have real wiggle room if they were to know. I want to call it. You buy yourself like you buy yourself a couple of intervals weird too, because looking at the schedule, Jake, I was looking through this morning. I'm just like, you know, if they they dropped the one I thought they were going to take. So now where they can they pick one up? Man, I said to you on radio on Wednesday. The chargers that charger charge might be 11 in the game. But no, I'm looking at it. We've had an adjustment herbert for two first rom picks. I'll take him. Madison beer is from my beer. I just I think that like my definition of the same old jets has been very much like a no-show flat lifeless performance to me is very same old jets. Whenever they get too high, they kind of they bring it back down with a lifeless performance. We referenced the bills game last year. We referenced some of the, we referenced the, you know, the, remember the bangles game, a couple years back, you know, I said, that's just like, it was just you go, you become a bleep show right after. And they're just always the way these big eggs. And so like, yeah, in some ways, as well as the same old jets, I guess, to your point, if that's your definition of it, then that you were right. Mine is inventing a game, inventing a way to lose in a game you should have won. Yeah, I was just my same old jets thing was more just around like the everyone gets so excited

43:28about something and they come out flat and they're down, you know, 21 nothing or they're down 14 nothing. It's just like an absolute poop fest. Like that's kind of what I'm more what I was kind of coming from on that. So yeah, no, I mean, look, I don't even say that your definition's right, right? Like if it's a new way to lose, you know what's sad? There's multiple definitions of, there's like, there's a multiple ways to skin a guy. This is what we debate as Jeff Feds, by the way. Yeah, we debate what is the actual definition? Some guys, there's a Packers fan in front of me and he was like, what do you say? He was like, he's like, why do you guys do the jets chant sometimes, but not other times is like, oh, we do it after the jets score usually is like kick off usually. There's a couple of jets chance. 44:28Yeah, and if you knew around here, Will's my longest running weekly guest since we started the show during Robert Salas first year. We were going live every single week. Zach Wilson pooping all over himself. And here we are. So Chad, I asked you, was yesterday another same old jets type of loss? It depends on your definition, I think, is the actual answer to the question. A couple of other things to hit on from this game, Will, and then I'll, I'll let you run. The offensive line, bad game, any cause for concern, watching it back, it was quite surprising to me that the jets went out there and they just really, I thought at times he's got dominated up front, especially late in this game. Our member, I thought at a rare bad game, your thoughts on what we saw from the offensive line. We were fine and pass pro generally. Like, not, they're not great. Like they were just, do you know, I feel like had a lot of time at points. They really missed the more Cooper in this one, man. He would have been such a good weapon in this game of just, how about using Frank?

45:29How about Frank? Right. Use his canyons to deek the way they do. He's, he's got to be in a pitch counter, right? Because otherwise, I don't get it. But I'm going to check his apps. He played a lot yesterday, though. He only got three targets. I don't understand how that's. You never have the worst game he's had his, his career. It's to the point 27 out of the 74 snaps. And last thing you played around similar, right? If I'm not mistaken, I think. Yeah, it's just the, the five tight end stuff was cute for a week. I'm sorry. Get the full. No, no, I'm not defending. I'm not more involved. There are a couple of times you know how to wide open for a touchdown. I'm a Garrett touchdown. But sorry, I just lost my train of thought. I can't believe I just told it dude. 46:30Their edge players were just crashing down on the tackles. Tim and Tim and Tim and Tim and a couple of times, I feel like we're blocking the same guy. And they clearly were not supposed to be blocking the same guy. Like it wasn't a duo block. I just feel like they like got, I don't know, maybe the stunt kind of, you know, stunt interior wise. Glenn talks about after the game, like they could have thrown them off. The run game was terrible. I really don't know why they kept, again, the couple of different times, like they got out on the edge. They ran that toss play and Oulu got out, you know, got out on the edge and they had to declead blocking. It looked really good and it's like, there's never one back to it. But yeah, the offensive line, I think PassPro on them's pass pro-writers, okay. That was game with therapy had, dude. And I was kind of bad day. Frank Rack had a really bad day. Actually, you know, I think that Glenn, Glenn having a really rough last few minutes of that game covered up for what was a really bad right game. I agree with you. I think I think I think we'd be talking today, like the Jets 1 2017, but what the hell was Frank Rack doing? Would have been the conversation this morning. Or if they lost, but let's say Aaron Glenn handled the end of regulation properly, but they just lost and over time,

47:31Gina wasn't able to get them field arranged, whatever. I think the focus would be on Frank Rack's play call. Again, Garrett Wilson needs the football more than just five times. He's targeted only seven. Isaiah Williams getting six targets, the decol only three. That just can't happen. He's playing the Cuper Roll, which is nice. The only thing I would say is positive, I guess, is knowing that kind of they have, like they have the Cuper Roll kind of laid out, where he's gonna be like that dominant. Isaiah Williams, a lot in 13 personnel, where they're gonna run out of it. And Cuper can play that like bully kind of receiver and be a good run blocker, but it's also frustrating knowing that, like, we're not gonna see Cooper for three more weeks. So Eddie Mitchell is really good yesterday. The one drop other than that, like, he's looks like a really good play. He's gonna be on pace for a thousand yards. You know, Garrett's on pace for another 1,000. Did not think it was a good breeze game at all. He had the one really awesome, you know, screenplay. Don't give me around that move. It's beautiful, but like, Bruce was not great yesterday at all. It's not a good Braille in Allen Day. I just, I'll say this again, man, and it's not beating up on Braille. I think Braille is a great kid and like, he shows moments. Dude, unless he's like got a full head of steam,

48:33he just does not run people over. He's a finesse runner. He's been like to sing to college. So it's not surprising. Well, why are we running him out of the gun then? That's why he doesn't make any sense. It's just like if he's not gonna be good at that, then it's just, it's just, then don't do it. Like, you know what I mean? It's just not worth it. And look, Frank Reich, week one, you're a mother credit. They won, they look good. They had a real plan. You get to credit when he performed and he did, he had a bad week. Like he just did. This, the five tight-end alignment to run it. They keep throwing out of this. Why are we running a slip screen here to Jeremy Rucker? I don't understand. Why are you like just hand into a light box, hand the ball to Steve right there. It was like, why is the plan for Rucker to be the one to get the screen? Can you play that for a second, Jake? Yes. He paused it like right there. If Gina waits literally one more second, that's a touchdown.

49:33I don't just, he rushed that. I don't like the play call, but like, dude, you have four on four blocking there. Just wait a second. Are you rushing this throw? That's what's like frustrating here. It's like if you wait, do look. If he waited one more half a second, these guys are all out there. And he's older, get there to hit the first one. Right, so I'm saying if you give it, you had to give it a half more second what the little line get out there. And maybe that's not on Gina. Maybe that's on the old line, taking too long to get out. But like the screen game's all timing, man. I just, I don't know. They didn't throw enough screen just today though. Like again, I'm nitpicking this one because I just like, oh, the five person else, that's awesome. I said this on the pod and I love it. Don't get me wrong. It's so fun to nerd out over. They become predictable. Now it's two weeks in a row. They just, they throw out of it every time. So you have to hand to the equal one or you have to hand Andrew Beck one to get people to stay on their toes. You can't become predictable. It's cool, but it's like, we also drafted a tight end in the second round last year who wasn't targeted yesterday. We drafted a tight end with the 16th mother, F and overall pick of round one.

50:36Get them the foot. It looks awesome week one. Like how do we see in one seam round to a tight end yet when Cedique feasted on that when you watch his college film? Not one. No. And Frank writes the one who wanted them. Yeah, you were a happy guy. Woody Johnson handed Frank right the phone after they took Cedique. It just, this is the week, man. And this is this is this is, is looking to have the score points well. They're not the defense could play well and still give up 25 minutes on something. What do you make of the Bayley discourse that has had a curiosity? I think he's been pretty good so far. Yeah, I think that he's been, he's done everything you want from a rookie in terms of like his motor is insane. He's extremely athletic. He has a nose for the football. I mean, that punch out does not happen in years past. He's got two sacks. Do I think he's been a major thing? He's still kind of searching for that first line. He's for this signature like, dominate the left tackle off the edge and get home. But also like he's just pass first plans been a little like, just like he's kind of just like full speed sprinting at people right now. He's kind of like the rookie that's like, everything's going a million miles an hour. And it's like natural hat natural. And it's just like run as fast as you can at the football.

51:36But I don't need him dropping back and pass comfort stuff. Yeah, I might only, it's like it happened, the promise is just everything. It's happened, it happened once and they went right out from which is like, it's just tough where it's like, what's one of that in quarterbacks get to do though? Yeah, no, it's, listen, if the only, like Glen, I was a third down to yesterday. Yeah, but you want to play with Bailey dropping back in a pass cover, Tom third down, he'd immersion the quarterback. It's a second pick in the drive. It's just one of those things where like he had a Glen head of near flawless day calling to defense yesterday. That was the one play where you're like, I don't love that. Bailey almost had an interception too. Dude, I thought he was going to end the drought there. And I was like, this is going to the stadiums never going to be allowed in their second over all pick defensive end breaks a year and a half long interception drought. Unreal. This has been pretty good by the way. I give credit where it's doing. And he is. And McGregor. And McGregor drives wrong. McGregor draws like two holds a game. It's all, we all believe we don't want any of those guys in the team. I was hard on them all summer, but they've actually showed up though. Is that all right? The irony of Sanders being excellent yesterday on a day in which the jet special teams probably played its worst game under Chris Banjo was unbelievably. I genuinely cannot get over how bad they were special teams was to share. It's so uncharacteristic. It was every unit. It was returning. They couldn't have and punt. They couldn't defend either one. I mean, Skymore had a field day. Obviously set up the game tying field goal. He's six or three yards. You may almost like that in history yesterday. It was like, Aaron Smith should not be on this team. He does nothing well at this point. I'm sick of it. I mean, what does Aaron Smith do? What does Aaron Smith do? He actually, there actually isn't an answer to that or at least Glenn. You could be like, I guess he calls the defense well. There is generally no answer. Now when I asked people, what does Aaron go and do well? For the two games we could say, well, you know, just like Salah, he's a pretty good defensive coordinator. So far, but like that's not enough. I don't think there's gonna be any sort of like jet fan contingent that's gonna be traveling to this game to make a real difference. I think the jets could be stepping into a buzzsaw. Jet teams of the past probably get blown out in this game. They're about a touchdown underdog for the opening line. What's your early feel for this one against the tri?

57:44Because it does feel like of the next two, the Bears game potentially without Caleb Williams is the one that's more winnable. Very, they're getting most in this game you're winning. I have a hard time believing they lose like 30 to 24. I feel like this is like a cheapy 3037 to 2027. Like something that's like not actually as close to the, like the way the bills lines was last week, right? Where it's like the game wasn't close at all. They obviously came back and scored at the end. I'll tell you though, man, this is like, you wanna have a big Geno day, you wanna have the pass pro look good. Other than the exception drought, the final company on either than the jets do. The only reason I feel like this jets matchup actually works out well for them. And again, there's a few things that do not work in their favor. One of which is Jumir Gedz might be the best player in the NFL, not named like Alan or my home. So he's just like unbelievable to watch. That said, both the coordinators in the line stink. They have, they threw their entire offensive line missing. Penny still actually has not looked as good at LF tackle as he did at right tackle.

58:44Their entire secondary is dined up and Garrett, Cedique, Eddie should feast in this game. The lines are gonna blitz a ton and play a ton of man coverage. This is the game to light it up. So I don't know, man, pardon me, wants to be like, hey, they respond really well and they prove everybody wrong. But I guess until they do, it's hard to pick them. Now I wouldn't begrudge anybody that says, lines by 10, lines by 13. But yeah, my early feel is like, we're going beyond this in a week's time saying, wow, that was awesome or wow, this is like a must win territory against one of these next two games and it's just like to get ugly. But I think they'll come out with a competitive effort in Juice. Nothing would make me happy, Jake, then to break some of the, you know, the same old jet stuff, obviously we were talking about before. Nothing would make me happier than to be like, they're actually riding the wave of adversity and not letting it ruin them. Like that would be the anti-same old jet. So they want that. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.

59:45This would be like such a refreshing like, and the last thing on that, I will say like, what do you think are, how do you think we would feel this morning if they lost 2017 over time, but they came back from down 10 in the fourth quarter and then lost? Do you think we'd be feeling differently or would everyone be like still disappointed as well? The vitre all that you're experiencing with the fan base would not be what it is. The reason why it is what it is is because the jets were fundamentally the better team for 90% of the game. Because they're doing a lot of things we all wanted all summer. They have nothing to show for it. They're doing all the things we all wanted, except the head coach has not learned how to be a head coach will. He's learned how to be a defensive coordinator. Now that he's doing it, he didn't do it last year, he delegated it to a different, different coach, but like, some of them will, but like that's, but that's why we're so pissed because Muji has done a decent job putting this team together. They have good football players on this team. They have young, exciting players we're excited to watch on Sundays. They deserve better to not be two and a half right now. Yeah, no, they do. 1:03:47Harbaugh and Talon are tough examples because they had their own issues, but anybody else calls a time out there and it probably doesn't work the way that they botched the end of the game. It's the end of the day. They were very solid of them. So I will say like, I'm not going to use Harbaugh as a good example, only from the aspect of like he had his own kind of issues the last couple of years. William Collins, the Jett coach, or Mike Raeble, who called him the Jett coach. Yeah, no, Raeble, Raeble, they won that game last year. Like there's no, there is, there's no doubt. But how many wins, like I think we were viewing the roster differently if those guys are in charge, is my point. Like my point is this team should not have a five and a half win total at the sportsbooks going into the year. It has that win total because of the head coach. They have a problem. This is a, this is a, this is a team on the rise with the right head coach. I really believe that we have three first round picks, 100 million in cap space. They have good players on this team. This should not be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. They really shouldn't. This is a one year turnaround if Glenn can't figure it out. They have players. True. Chance to go to and oh, the conditions of the game favored exactly how you would want it to go if you're the Jets. I think yesterday was worse personally. Because again, the Denver game happened. They were 0 and 5 at that point. The New York Jets flushed last year down the toilet I was told a new beginning. But then a game like yesterday happens. And he just makes you go, yeah, this is why we all felt the way. We're not all. You get the bootlegs out there. It's why most Jeff fans were very uneasy with the idea that this head coach is ever going to be our guy. And I'm not saying fire him. I got anyone wants to fire an Glenn right now. Let's not do that at all. What he Johnson should not do that. What he should do is give Aaron Glenn the next 15 games.

1:13:01Make the job as attractive as possible. Don't do anything to give the perception that you're just functional and all that. They're 101 right now. As bad as yesterday was, Aaron Glenn still has a chance to change the narrative about who he is at head coach. Go beat the Lions. Go beat the Lions missing their two starting safeties. Have that signature win that they desperately need, right? Salas second year. Guess what? They were 101. And you know what they did? They ended up rattling off after they actually were 1 and 2. Remember, they lost to the bangles. They beat the Steelers. So maybe it could be a similar to 2022. They lose week three. Chets lost to the bangles that year. And then they won the Steelers game on the road. Maybe this year instead of the AFC North, it's the NFC North. They have the week three loss. But then the bounce back and week number four. And then that went five straight before they then start seven and four and lose the last six in a row. I mean, at least we'd have a season then. Lou B says was Ponds kidnapped. 1:14:03I don't even know what Glenn was asked about that. It was so much to cover from the debacle yesterday. I'm sure he'll be asked about it. When he speaks on Wednesday. Big fell. We may not have an interception, but neither does sauce. I mean, sauce can't win a game on US soil. You see that's that. There's only one with the colds last year was like in Germany. 1:15:07Hopefully both were at home against Cleveland. If we can, that's a coaching. This team is good enough. Yeah, I mean, and also the Browns game is not going to be as easy as something. You have people around the NFL laughing at the jets today, laughing at how they handle it. Everyone saw it. The game. It was the only game on. I'm pretty sure when the jets were at the end of regulation, the game took forever to really get going because unfortunately you had the two big injuries to the packer players right at the start. The first quarter felt like it took an eternity because it did.

1:17:08Like the, uh, you know, the fact of the matter is the red zone channel cut in and just showed the jet game and the national broadcast for Fox, they showed the jet game right until the cowboy game started. Jay Batito in the rabble before was screaming for a time out in the last minute. Maybe we catch a break and Caleb misses our game in two weeks. Here's the thing though. I don't think that means the jets are just going to weigh. It would be a break, obviously, but it's still Ben Johnson against Aaron Glenn. And if you believe what they say about Tyson Beijing that he's a really good quarterback, I mean, we'll see. But I don't think like again, I'm not confident in any game the jets go into that includes the dolphins. I don't care how they look. I could say the Raiders, even though they're not two and oh, the Browns, they want like again, we should not. There is no game like the best answer Glenn gave last week was every game to statement game with our history and he's right.

1:18:11But it's also because you have no faith in the jet handling their business against a team. We deem that they're better than how do we know that? Kyle says there's no defending Aaron Glenn here. There isn't again, you want to say Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator did a nice job. Great. But when I would do that for Salah, the same people would say, oh, he's the head coach. At least with salad, be like, well, he doesn't have, he, he doesn't have a quarterback. We cannot say that would Glenn write. I think Geno Smith's been pretty good. He had moments yesterday. But again, like I, I don't know what people expect from 35 turning 36 year old Geno Smith. As he been the best quarterback on the field in each of the jets, first two games, I think the answer to that is yes. I will defend Geno. I think he's been fine. And I think Frank right did not do a ton of favors yesterday with some of the play calls. Like sometimes a quarterback when they go through their progressions, you know, okay, maybe they got to get the ball to Garrett Wilson, where I'll listen to that. But you know what you could do as an offensive coordinator. When you see Cedeek only has three targets, you could dial up a screen. That's on the OC. Like that's the type of stuff I needed for Frank right yesterday.

1:19:11And maybe they went in the game with they do some of that. Oregon Jets is tank baby tank five to eight wins only heard progress. Oregon, I got news for you. I mean, this team roster wise is not as bad as some of these awful teams around the league. They're just not. You have to just roof of the cult to be bad, man. Again, I don't, I don't think the jets are going to be picking in the top three. Top they should, they really shouldn't be. I mean, if they are, that's just a further indictment on Aaron Glenn. Or Gina got hurt in their playing club. Nick and he's just not ready. I like, I think one thing we could definitively say through the first two games. This team is vastly, vastly improved from a talent standpoint. That's why I'm so pissed off they lost yesterday. Because the people that defended Glenn last year was well, Jake, he doesn't have his players. The roster's not any good, even though they were trying to win last year.

1:20:12And they started on seven when they were trying to win. But like, that was the excuse for Aaron Glenn. So it's like, okay, we went through last year. The team was three and 14. They started. Oh, and seven. I would expect Aaron Glenn to be an improved head coach. He's not in, he's 19 games into this and he still has no idea how to manage the final four minutes of each and which he said belongs to the head coach. That's why I think the jet fan is I rate. And I don't blame anyone who feels that way. And I think, you know, the people who want to like bootleg or like defend the jet said any turn, they're like, well, what would you expect? You know, take the big picture, beer. They're one and one through two. If we would have said they lost an overturned of the Packers and they're one and one through two, you wouldn't have signed. It's like, this is why I don't just sign for a blanket. Oh, if he wins this game, he has seven wins. He's back. How you get to your record matters. There's nuance to it. There's context to it. It's not just this blanket.

1:21:14All you win, you lose. I guess that's certainly part of it. You got to win way more than three games. But yesterday when you're facing a Packers team in your own building and you're up 10 in the fourth quarter, and they're down multiple key players on their offense. They're down their best defensive player. Maybe the best defensive player in the league. And you still lose like that. I cannot sit here and accept that. I can't. There's no moral victory because all they're more competitive now and they're losses. Who gives a flying efforts? The NFL. You win or you lose. And when the jets lose, they make history when they lose. I'm sick of these staffs from some media. I love the man, but enough. God. Like the jets invent losing. Jetstream in the Raffle for two says I'm. I'm overrunning from the shotgun and short yarded situations make no sense to me, but make sense that this regime doesn't see a problem with it. And the show like I guess the thought process from Riking Glenn would be well,

1:22:14they did it last week and it did work against the Titans, but it's like that's the Titans. Like how often do the shotgun runs work? We've seen this, especially a Braille and Allen man to go back to the Nate Hackett days. We saw that exact scenario play out. Several times it never worked. I think an indictment on the offensive coaching is that we do not have a short yardage, touch push or quarterback sneak, ask play in our playbook. We can't quarterback sneak with Gina Smith. Okay, let's do it with Kenyans to eat. Let's do it with Mason Taylor. Let's run the touch push with one of them. And this was an issue last year. Remember we were like, how are they not doing this with Justin Fields? I really think a barometer of competent coaching is do you have solid short yardage plays in your offensive playbook? I think it's a fair indicator of your offensive staff.

1:23:15And they failed yesterday. Maybe they had the touch push this week or the quarterback sneak. I don't think that's unreasonable. We're talking about how proud we are of these five tight end alignments. And then we can't get a yard on fourth and one. We got a lineup from the shotgun with our our bruising running back who's not actually that good in short yardage if you pay attention. I much rather breeze me in that spot. I'm breeze didn't get it on the previous place. You know what? Let's line up single back and run a toss. The couple times the jets ran well yesterday, correct me from wrong. I remember running to the outside on the edges. I think breeze as long as run of the day on a toss play or maybe I forget it or maybe he caught it outside either way was not running up the gut. They were not having success there. Panamoget in the raffle for four keep glender fire him now replacing with Rex who would have more wins at the end of the year. Rex right there. What he is not replacing Aaron Glenn would right try. In the middle of the season. It's not happening.

1:24:15These are like jet fantasy dreams. It is not happening. You will look like a dysfunctional franchise if you grab the guy on TV who hasn't coached in the NFL in 15 years you say hey coach our team with your son on it. It's not happening. I love Rex. It's not happening. Aaron Glent you get the entire season. I do I am not a proponent of firing him in season. He gets the entire season approved whether or not he should be employed for the next year. It's early and things change but if you're asking me for what is likely happening this off season Darren mood. He's going to be a part of the search committee to pick the next head coach. I don't think he's going anywhere. Because I think this team clearly is improved dramatically from a talent standpoint. Well, you remember I've said multiple times this team broke me last year.

1:25:18So I think what I was looking for was different with other people looking for like Nick was pissed like I was mad. But I wasn't pissed pissed because I went to this game. I want a fun game day experience at the stadium. And I wanted to watch fun football. I have also been on record saying it just wasn't even fun last year. Well, we were up man. The stadium was rocking. Wasn't last time we had a deep that's jammed that city. I'm like never. But that leads to a nickel vouch for this at a half time at the two minute warning. I was like, why are we trying to run to get to jump off side like run a fucking plate. This team is not good enough to fuck around like that. Like put some points of a double did. What are we doing? So that right there. Kiss me off. Yeah, they started the end of the first half when they took it to the two minute warning. It's like, okay, you're trying to make sure the packers don't have any time left. But then you don't have any of your own time out. So you needed to be proactive in that spot from that point on. And they just they were scared. Glenn's refusal to throw a Hail Mary is some of the dumbest crock of you know what I have ever heard.

1:26:19He doesn't want the other team to go into the locker room with an interception because he believes it affects momentum. How does that impact momentum and all every other team in the league would try and throw a Hail Mary when you have the Jets weapons. Why are you from placing going into half of the tie? I have one point. This team is similar to have put their foot on somebody throw and shut the fucking game. Throw is shutting a half. And you can show that first half like that that we built momentum because I'm telling you that crowd was rocking. And that goes to my next point is that that shit play calling in the second half because it is advised we were the packers fans were allowed to. So the whole third half of the second half of the third quarter the whole fourth quarter. It was doing deep dance. Like they were loud. So our offense kept getting false starts because the crowd was like the shitty play calling kept the packers fans in the game. Shut that shit down. Like that pissed me off. Um, no, I said it was a great game day experience. So I am now we lost but like I'm back in like I'm like we're going three now. We're going the playoffs.

1:27:19But like I'm back in on this team. I'm invested. Now all this shit stays like the time management and. And she's in baffles me like I don't get that. Um, so I say yeah the shotgun runs. It always talk about like it's like hack it. It asks like what are we doing for the one from a shotgun like it just it was annoying and. Like I will give plan like I said like you said I think it's the whole season. I want to see week to week improvements. Although I don't think we're gonna because given what he said about getting the ball at half time and oh we're going to run it down their throws and whenever seven minutes. You do that the whole freaking game all of a sudden you're just going to do it for overtime. He also you were at the games you didn't hear he also gave an interview to the sideline reporter for Fox. And said that they were struggling to run the ball up the middle so they were going to attack the outside. And that's what makes the fourth and one play call of decision by Frank Reich even more baffling as I Glenn said this. He knew this was a problem. So let's run the the old half back handoff out of the gun.

1:28:22On fourth and one right into the teeth of the packers defense which had been stonewalling the jet running game all game it makes no sense. Yeah I was definitely on cloud nine yesterday when we left to that said what I was looking for in the game was a fun game day experience like a fun football game to watch and it was for three and a half quarters. So I did give I was looking for but the more I've heard about because it is harvester you're there you're not getting all the stats and I heard about of course. I think we are in some ways the same old jets but some ways like we're only to lose everybody there are 44. Oh the whole number under 20 yards the however many penalties when the turnover battle of course the jets are going to jet and do that. So the more I hear about since I've been hearing about the games that was there you miss a lot I am getting more annoying but yesterday I definitely it was a good time. The city like you can tell the people are hopeful and the passions back so that that was going to see I'll give it that but yeah not happy not happy about the loss in this way and it did not happen again next week.

1:29:23Yeah I mean it can happen again the rest of the year you can have a game where you're where the head coach again is the direct reason why you lost he did this last year how many times especially the landing game we all remember. And I was kind of afraid this would happen because I have to be still last year is that we put stuff on tape we want me to agree and the next team we to directly use that tape against us and they had nothing for it they're no strategy no plan. So that that was also same old jets yeah I good call Jay grades I think what helps the jets this go around is like fields was so one dimensional last year once there was tape on them I think Geno is a professional quarterback. My Tony guys is great I just think you could do more with Geno with these weapons. This is a big week for the jets because I I could see the lions killing them couldn't you. 10 days to get ready everyone saying all the lions suck right they got embarrassed in prime time I could see the lions using the jets is like they're get right game as we've seen teams do in the past.

1:30:26You're the lions I think you're going to be looking at it like all right we had we had a tough loss we're one on one to get healthy or as healthy as we could be because they still have some guys out our next three games jets panthers cardinals before they play green Bay on the 25th of October. Let's go on a run like I think that's how Dan Campbell is going to like rally his team like but we're they're saying. Let's go prove we're still a damn good football team and go rattle off some wins here. I will be playing for first place when we play the Packers in late October I'm on from now. Again the jet should not be killed though by any team if they're well coach like I just want to go coaching does it gives you a chance. There's upsets every single week in the NFL and the jets with this close to finally getting one of them. There are upsets every week every week the browns won a game yesterday.

1:31:28Like 10 of them lock of the week we were talking about it on the show he's like just on wants and done the NFL quarterback everyone felt that way no way Baker may feel it would lose to the browns he's going to torture like things happen in this league. The only consistent though as a jet fan has been the jets losing that has to change has to Omar gifted one membership Omar thank you. I appreciate it last call to get in on the raffle rip through a couple more calls here Sean C Sean you there. Hey Jake hey Sean got my old pain hat the other right before the game so I appreciate that. Yeah that was nice so I was actually wearing it during the week before the game like two days before they like I probably shouldn't wear this before we even play. But I will say it just like Jager I said I thought that it was a fun game for three and a half quarters.

1:32:31The moment that we had that pass interference call. And then went down and then they scored on that the easy Thomas penalty. Yeah I felt like that was the big play that killed that game I knew that was like the spark they needed to come back. For sure it definitely had a definitely played a big role again like like to me there's like ten things we could point to that contribute to this and they could be put the bed if you're just coach better down the stretch if you're able to execute. At the end of these games you win like that like the most NFL games are going to be tight I think we're going to have more. The Jets are an improved team this year they're going to be in a lot of games late in late with a chance to win where the head coach is going to be again under the spotlight of having to make the correct decisions. Exactly and I think with Glenn like last year he didn't have a chance to go through any of these type of I don't feel like he had a lot of opportunity to be this close in games.

1:33:40He had a few of them. He had a few of them and he sucked it up right. So you can study it you can read books about it but until you're in that situation it's going to take him and I'm not trying to be a boot liquor as they say but you're like you can you can always study something you can always hope to make the right call. But the next time he better make the right call so it's you know I still think that he's learning he's done a lot of good things he's gotten us I mean. Some of these things are pretty basic I know I know have you have you played madden like oh yeah you would have a better understanding how to handle the end of each half if you played mad yeah yeah so it's like. I'm anyways I just think that like I'm not trying to be a boot liquor but glad he's got it but she's got to get better again that he's not getting fired today the gender one on one a lot better than being home to right now that's why thank God they won that Titans game we have some we have some legitimate hope let's say these next two games but like when we're evaluating Aaron Glenn at the end of the year and we're unsure about him and let's say there's another one of these type of gains where we're pointing to him as the reason why they didn't win.

1:35:02I'm not going to be sitting here saying we definitely need to bring this guy back like you're not me like you give grades out Brian Costello gave Aaron Glenn and F like he sucked he was the reason I just team did not we were you're up 10 and the fourth quarter at home you need to win that game 100 out of 100 times they blew it and his decision making had to me the vast majority to do with why they collapse. And the offense was the offense they were lackluster I mean I'm excited to see the offense now and then this this this this game the offense was I felt like a true like not a trotious but they weren't great and they they're like oh we're going to run around the edge they did two plays I feel like that went around the edge and they were good and then then they just went back to our same old you know like we've been talking nonstop here about the shotgun play like we just can't do that. It's it like that's just that's just jet PTSD right there to go back to a shotgun snap up the middle like dude we talked about two weeks ago that we cannot see that anymore and we're watching it all over again so.

1:36:07Right Scott to do better to he's got to have a better game plan and we got to get to be involved like we've like we all like you talked about to is that that's that's huge I mean just seeing him at the ball in his hands he's always getting positive yards. Yeah we got to get that guy in the game plan Sean it bothers me because last week I one of the things I get credit to Frank right for was well looks like they had a real plan for Kenyan Siddiq it was really encouraging to see what they were doing with them. And then it's just like they completely forgot about him in this game so all the good you thought that oh we have an offensive coach who's got a real vision for Siddiq three total targets and like one of them was on the opening drive right you have that great play where you had the hurdle to set up like a third and manageable they go on a second and 10 he caught that. I think that's that's what's frustrating. Pat says at least these timeouts carry over right maybe that's the master plan. The jets actually start week week three the trope would five time outs in their pocket.

1:37:13Aaron going to play in the long game. At least that would be more understandable that whatever the hell happened at the end of regulation God again they know embarrassing it is that they asked Matt LaFlaur about what the jets did at the end there and he said yeah I was really surprised. In what world everyone look at your screen right now you're watching on YouTube. In what world. Does a completed past that brings up fourth down with a minute and two seconds to go lead to the green Bay Packers getting to fire off a Hail Mary at the end of regulation here again people it's not normal I will repeat what I said last year a lot talking about this head coach. You're trying to twist yourself into a pretzel to justify what we watch yesterday. Oh it's okay. He's in year two he's 19 career games and the team is better around him. He has a professional quarterback. There are no excuses anymore. The bootlickers don't have anything to excuse him with always the defense is a lot better. Yes the defense is a lot better.

1:38:14Do we just hire another Robert salad 2.0. I need a head coach. I don't need a defensive coordinator we could find that. I need a head football coach. We're about to invest a first round pick very likely in the top five to 10 in a quarterback. We need the right guy for that player or we will repeat the same darnal mistake all over again. I cannot live with myself if that happens. Can't. All right couple calls left and I got a run say a little Gary to use up next little Gary. I was just calling in I'm actually on my way back from the game now. We live in Virginia but I. Yeah I don't want to beat a dead horse on all the different things that have been said but to me that you know some things that I at least haven't heard really gone over is what made. This game so disappointing because you know if we're on it during the off season we're all predicting five wins you know it's not like we're at the beginning of the year we're looking at green Bay all we should be dominating the but what made this hurt so much.

1:39:17Is that you can see the talent on this team you can see a lot of the things going well and you like convince yourself that hey maybe this team is better than I think it is and you almost kick yourself for being tricked you know it because the same exact things that you been seeing from this coach and this team really for years is the same things you see I mean. The special teams that the defense looks great but the offense all of a sudden can't do nothing and it's just the same things and to me that's what made it hurt is you know like at the at the game bark Scott came out. To start the game off and he had of course he always gets me fired up but he had the whole the whole place fired up and he's saying that the best kind of respect is the kind that's earned through violence. Man you know powerful quote and then you know the team comes out first play bam or second play bam guys knocked out with a major injury it's like damn then second play bam another guy gets knocked out it's like man this could be a violent game we're going to we're going to earn some respect or what are and then you know same same song and dance.

1:40:22But and then the last thing that I had is I was just curious because to me you know everyone is trying to like pinpoint where we went wrong and like you said there's like 10 different things but to me the thing that stood out at the game where I started being like oh. Was we were on a drive I remember all the details but braille and Alan had like a pitch to him and it was like something was just completely off and we wind up fumbling the ball and having a fall on it and instead of a third and three or a second and three or something it's like. Third and 14 or 18 or something and that just totally killed the drive and then from that on there was no good place. What just give you some context it was right after breeze had that unbelievable individual effort on the third and long to pick up 43 yards and they got no points on that. That's right they recovered the fumble right after that so at least they got something but it's like again these are the things you have to do to put teams away like who knows that they could have been a drive that ended with seven and the. Aaron Glenn debacle at the end of regulation never happens because you're already up to scores and not just two scores by ten you know you're you're up instead of oh 17 seven you're actually 21 seven in the entire complexion of how green Bay has to go back on offense changes and how Glenn could call the defense then changes to right like these these all matter when you lose a game when you're up 10 to the fourth quarter.

1:41:37Yeah I mean there was no single play that that causes to me these are all things that just as funny as it is use the old catchphrase it's coaching you know I mean there's just so much stuff that stands out where it's like why did that happen I mean if your coach better it doesn't happen or why do we make that decision. You have a coach that doesn't know what the heck he's doing he's going to make dumb decisions like that and it's just real frustrating but you know a light at the end of the tunnel is we got a ton of draft capital and if he keeps it up we're we're going to have a good coach next year because we're going to have our pick of the litter so you know as much as I hated it at least I got to see a competitive game for for part of it me my son went up there he had a great time and you know hopefully hopefully changes on the way. Oh yeah great call Gary have you called before and I'll recognize your name. No no this is the first time I usually just watch well you got to call more often great first call putting you in the raffle for the Crabette sign helmet for two alright. 1:42:42Now we'll ask him for his opinion on if uh plan to try and to kill you next time he calls him. Yeah I I kind of kid myself yesterday I always do this I try and like take this team not seriously and I don't let my got self get excited about a week one win. And then it gets that you know end of the third quarter a big grief screen you know you're up 14 seven and driving and it looks like oh my god this team is about to be two and out. And I I let the I drank the cool aid I was I saw on red zone Caleb Williams went down which he never liked to see but immediately my ears perked up so like that's a backup quarterback.

1:43:50Now for a game that we were kind of circling as we would be really tough for us. Four no started running through my head you know in that little break between third. The third and fourth quarter and they all came crashing down obviously. Something I haven't seen a lot of people talk about mostly and it's certainly he's not the guy to blame. Breeze hall man like it sucks I feel like he's just never looked the same after his ACL I feel like the breeze of 2022 houses that screen pass like I don't know if maybe. Maybe I'm crazy and saying that it's in brain now and to like the shock on play call it sucks it's inexcusable I hate shock on the fourth or one. But like you're a big dude put a shoulder down and get the first down want it more than the other guy like it wasn't like he was hit the backfield like it was you know there wasn't really a whole to bad play call put a shoulder down and get a yard. There's a lot of frustration got to use to eat more. Frank Reich had a terrible game taking the ball over time horrible there's no reason it would be one thing if I was thinking about it more last night.

1:44:57I mean once I kind of simmered out the disappointment if the jets if they were in a situation where they just drove down the field and they scored the tie at the center over time and they had a real long methodical drive and the packers defense was just on the field for a long time I don't hate taking the ball in that situation to dictate the clock. I don't hate it in theory where if you can take seven eight minutes off the clock and score the long methodical drive and now you know packers they have to use some time outs because it does end in a tie or over time period does ends. You know it's not just like they get a second untime possession I wouldn't hate that decision but I don't like taking the ball first with the current overtime rules especially the way the game ended the fact that your defense was on the field is kind of relevant. I didn't love his answer at the press conference this morning either but I kind of look at it with a little bit of optimism as well the teams one to one it sucks to lose the way you did but now you're going to the Troy again it's going to have to be a shoot out I think they have too many playmakers someone raw to mere Gibbs.

1:46:05They had a great quarterback and it's just a matter of this is kind of what I think we said we're saying earlier on was exactly spot on this is where you kind of earn your stripes right if the team teams in the past they fall apart. After the loss of the packers and they go into the Troy and they get the crack at the end of them and then they go to Chicago and they probably lose to a backup quarterback as well and they're one and three and now you're looking at a desperate home gaming at step rounds that they probably blow to. So it's just a matter of if you let this loss the finding which cert judge teams in the past certainly will it's important for the coaching staff to really kind of eat a little bit of humble pie here and use that as motivation to go into the Troy and even if you know I know I won't say that I won't use the term must win but you have to look competitive you can't lose a game like you did against green day if you come up just short because do you know throws a late pick or something you know so be it but you can't coach scared. You have to coach with some fire and play the win and I think that was the biggest reason that they kind of felt part in the fourth is winning was right in front of them and it just they didn't want to take it because they're coaching too scared and too conservative and you can't do that in the NFL.

1:47:16Tommy excellent call I agree I agree they played to not lose not to win great call calling more Tommy we need some level headed callers with great hair like that outstanding again I think the biggest thing is that I'm going to do it. Again I think the biggest issue was they didn't know what they wanted to be. Are we being an aggressive team where we're going to go for it on fourth down and that's our philosophy are we going to be conservative. What Aaron Glenn did though at the end of regulation was like it just it wasn't anything but and then to take the ball to start over time directly contradicts. The thought process of what you have to time out to use one of them get the ball with 50 seconds. 50 seconds one time out a veteran quarterback the jets weapons go win the game why not you know spits first ever start as a jet. You let a game winning field go drive against the bucks. You maybe throw a deep ball down the 80 Mitchell and you get a PI call to go your way and you're in field go range.

1:48:17I mean that's basically what the packers did they completed one nice play to they're running back I think it was Lloyd you had it right. And then brownie has the late head out of bounds and then that was it but it's like these things happen if you put yourself in position to be able to take advantage of a team making a mistake. Glenn didn't want to do that. So I can't listen to the argument oh boy he wanted the ball and over time then along methodical drive and then there's no time for it's like. But then that's putting faith in your offense you didn't trust your offense at the end of the first half you didn't trust your offense at the end of regulation. It doesn't make any sense. It makes no sense and never will make sense.
