Triple M, it's Robby and Carly. Our next guest is just an Aussie legend. Just all about the good vibes. You can't help but smile when Jessica Mellboy music comes on your radio. Unfortunately, we're unabdacerated in more of the other week for the Hay Bales Festival. Cyclone Narell ended up meaning that that had to be cancelled and also Caragini experience isn't happening anymore, but we will get her to WA at some point soon. I'm sure of it. She was kind enough to come on the line with this. Jessica! There it is! My favourite thing, Jess, about interviewing you is you never know when you're going to sing and I just love it. I was like, no one can ever accuse you of auto tune, of you can drop notes better than words sometimes. It's amazing. You can drop notes. It's crazy if you want to. Oh my god, my soul is healed. I just, I need you to call me
every time I'm having a bad day and just drop a note honestly. You could make millions of a voice note service like that. There's so many things to talk to you about but one thing I would love to ask you is about the acting because I have loved every project you've done and here in WA, we've got a new film studio, we've got a lot filming in WA. Is there any potential to see Jess Mowboy on screen or a part of a WA project? I would love to. I love being able to, and with my acting agency, I love getting scripts being sent and I'll go through them. But yeah, it's such a fun space. I remember my first acting role was playing Julie from brand new day. Yes. Oh, love. So beautiful. We were in, we were in room and just like that was so, it's so iconic to me, the landscape, the energy, the spirit, the community, the people that were involved. I think literally they had every like person who lives in room audition for literally
all and up around the corner. Yeah, literally like at the robot hotel, there was like a line of like men and women that came and filmed in the background and we're like extras and I feel like the whole of room like came out and was in that film and it's just such an iconic that the music, the story, being in that was just like the highlight I feel like still is of my life because it really entered me into the space of, you know, being an actress and having a formula as an actor actress and like literally going, oh, like I can do this and but I got to also work hard and did the auditions, like I was I was partnered with so many male actors before we went into actually filming filming it. So it was a process and I just I remember then I'm gonna I want to do this if I can do both like can I do both and yeah it just kept coming the sapphires then was the next major major thing
which I auditioned at I think I had auditioned for like two months before actually landing the role of of sorry of Julie sorry. There's too many roles to remember. And yeah and then yeah just kind of I caught you know they say you catch the acting bug I did I just I didn't want to stop there and and I've had had been reading scripts you know since then and yeah I'd love to if there's space in the studios they are I'd love to absolutely there are people listening right now writing your name down as we speak. I'm ready I'm ready I will be prepared. Bramble have you back at least you know you've got a place to crash in broom with every single person being a part of it. Yeah so cool. Hey we better make Kali happy again by getting you singing. What's the bachelor girl thing? This is iconic. Yeah are you doing something with bachelor girl tell us about this. So I so am yeah song is literally being released like next week
and I'm I'm winging out. This particular song treat me good was was on the album and you know when you just listen through like back in the day when we would just put the CD on and we would actually listen to the whole album. Yeah this was one of those songs that would come up and and you'd be like this you know this is that this is it this is this is the next single and you knew that it was going to be like the next single and I remember as a kid when that did drop I was like wait what. So I do have such a really strong connection with this song and when Tanya can connect it with me when she rang it's just like Jess like we've worked together multiple times on on on previous songs but you know I would like you to hop on you know this song that we're kind of regenerating we're we're going to release it at some point but we're building this project and we're redoing all of our songs and we think this is the perfect song for you and when she said
the name I literally scream. Well Jessica Melboy we've loved having you on the show today thank you very much and hopefully we'll see you in WA soon. Thank you. Thanks. You can check out that full chat on our podcast as well. Just head to the list of episode. Trombie and Callie. Triple M.
