Jaxon Cover: Cayman Islands' Hockey Prodigy

One prospect turning heads is right-winger Jackson cover of the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League. This 18-year-old ranks number 45 on NHL Central Scouting's midterm list of North American skaters. Former grew up in the Cayman Islands playing roller hockey since that's the only kind available there with just one rank. Born in Miami, he moved back to the Caymans as a baby and didn't touch ice until age 12 when his family relocated to Canada. His roller background gives him quick shifts, strong puck handling and tight spaces, and sharp hockey scents from smaller lineups. At St. Andrew's College Prep School, cover starter was soccer before switching to ice hockey at 14. He quickly adapted, posting 40 points in 55 games last season, including time with London.

1:00This year as an OHL rookie, he's tallied 47 points in 62 games, earning rookie of the week honors early on. Scouts praise his 6'1, 180-pound frame for blending power with skill, projecting him as a potential top 6 forward. He's now on London's top line at left wing, and Cayman Media calls him one of their top young athletes for his drive and humility. Meanwhile, other standouts include defenseman Tommy Blale, leading Monkton with 77 points in the QMJHL, ranked number 35. Finish Blueliner, Juho Piperinen sits 6th among internationals in Liga.
