Jason La Barre

The I in Us

About this episode

The I in Us is an Australian-based radio show about the intersex community, by the intersex community, for everyone.

On this week’s show, Paul welcomed Jason La Barre to the JOY 94.9 airwaves.

Born and raised in Illinois, USA, Jason was born with an innate variation in sex characteristics, but like so many intersex people, Jason endured the consequences of this since long before he knew why his life had been so challenging and why he had felt different to his peers since the age of four.

As the years passed Jason defied the opinion of his teachers and peers to complete high school and university degrees, and like so many people within the intersex community, became an advocate for his community, passionate that no other kids or teens would go through what he did, physically, cognitively, or socially.

Tune into JOY 94.9 Wednesday’s at 6pm for another exciting episode of The I in Us.
