Jalen Tolbert Leaves Cowboys for Dolphins

0:00On March 13th, Jalen Tolbert, the Dallas Cowboys-wide receiver, is leaving the team after four seasons to sign a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. He had been competing for the number three receiver spot behind stars, CD-LAM and George Pickens, and what looked like a stacked Dallas passing game. Drafted in the third round out of South Alabama back in 2022, Tolbert started slow as a rookie with just two catches. He improved over time, playing every game in his second year and posting his best numbers in 2024, though still well behind the top. Guys, in 2025 though, his production dropped off sharply with only 18 catches for 203 yards over 13 games. Younger players like Ryan Florenoi and Coventay Turpin passed him on the depth chart, making his exit from Dallas feel inevitable. Miami offers a fresh chance, especially with Tolbert's prior connection to the Dolphins new quarterback Malik Willis from the Senior Bowl.
