Jaguars-Browns Trade: Hunter's Rookie Season

0:00On April 26th, the Travis Hunter trade between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns from 2025 is finally complete now that the 2026 NFL Draft wrapped up. In the deal, Jacksonville sent their fifth overall pick that year, plus picks 36, 126, and their own 2026. First Rounder, which landed at 24th overall to Cleveland. In return, the Browns shipped over the second overall pick along with picks 104 and 200, all from 2025. With those assets, the Jaguars grabbed Hunter at number 2, running back Bay Shul Tutan at 104 and saved the Ray Wan Lane at 200. Hunter, the two-way star, stepped right in, but saw his rookie year end early with a knee injury. Meanwhile, Cleveland loaded up on defense and backfield help, taking defense of tackle Mason Graham at 5, running back Quinch and Judkins at 36, running back Dylan Samson at 126, and wider receiver KC concepts the own with that 24th pick this year.

1:02Hunter showed flashes on both sides of the ball, holding receivers to just 10.7 yards per catch on defense with a couple pass breakups and hauling and 28 catches for 298 yards and a score on offense. Tutan rotated at running back and handled kick returns, while Lane shone on special teams and could climb the safety depth chart. The rest are settling into roles, but it's early days. Bottom line, nobody's calling a winner yet. This trade lives or dies on how Hunter bounces back and dominates a corner with offensive snaps, too. Keep watching those Jags.
