Jaguar Land Rover's Q4 Sales: Recovery & Challenges
About this episode
Jaguar Land Rovers Q4 FY2026 sales saw a significant rebound from the previous quarter, with wholesale volumes surging 61.1% and retail sales up 16.2%. However, the full year was marred by challenges such as US tariffs, tough times in China, and model transitions, leading to a 23.2% drop in wholesale volumes and a 17.8% decline in retail sales. Europe was the only bright spot, while the UK, North America, and China experienced substantial declines. Despite these challenges, popular models like Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender drove sales, accounting for 77.1% of Q4 wholesales. JLRs financial results for the quarter and full year are set to be released next month.

On April 2nd, Jaguar Land Rover just dropped their sales numbers for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, and while they bounced back. Big time from the prior quarter, the full year took a hit. Wholesale volumes hit 95,300 units, up 61.1% from last quarter, but down 14.5%. From the year before. Retail sales came in at 92,700 units, up 16.2%, quarter over quarter, but down 14.3%, percent year on year. That recovery came after last summer cyber attacks shut down production, letting them get back to normal operations by March 31st. For the whole year, Wholesale volumes totaled 307,900 units, a 23.2% drop while retail. Finished at 352,300, down 17.8%. Challenges piled up from US tariffs, tough times in China, and winding down old Jaguar models before the new line of drops.
Europe was the bright spot with Wholesale of 4.1% year on year, but the UK fell 23.1%, North America, 19%, and China nearly 30%. Retail sales dipped across the board compared to last year, with China hit hardest at 34.6% down, followed by the Middle East, and North Africa at 29.6%. Still, their hot models like Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender made up 77.1% of Q4 Wholesales, up from 66.3% the year prior. JLR's financial results for the quarter and full year drop next month, so keep an eye out for how they spin these numbers into profits.
