Join us this week as we vivisect the cult cinema classic “Jacob’s Ladder,” the psychological-horror thriller which inspired the “Silent Hill” video game series and tastefully borrows from various esoteric traditions to give artistic vision to the nightmare realities one faces while attempting to wholify themselves during life’s catastrophes and even death. We focus on the biblical symbolism given in the film and relate it to the Tibetan Book of the Dead from which the thematic content of the script was derived. While we briefly reviewed other brilliantly made commentaries we accomplished our own research and came to some solidly argued conclusions that were quite different from anything else we had heard.
