「「水素エンジン」実船運用へ前進…J-ENG、陸上試験成功」 ジャパンエンジンコーポレーション（Ｊ―ＥＮＧ）は８日、大型商船向け水素燃料エンジン「６ＵＥＣ３５ＬＳＧＨ」の陸上運転試験に成功したと発表した。同エンジンはＪ―ＥＮＧの本社工場（兵庫県明石市）で水素混焼率（燃料に占める水素の割合）９５％以上を達成し、温室効果ガス（ＧＨＧ）の排出量を従来の重油燃料エンジン比９５％以上削減することを確認。今後、実用化につなげる上ではコスト競争力向上も問われる。（神戸・林武志）
