Iva Jovic vs Paula Badosa - Preview & Prediction - 2026 WTA Miami Open

0:00Hey guys and welcome back to the channel. We have Paula Badoza versus Evie Yovic, round two of the Miami Open Masters. Interesting matchup before we get into it. Okay, so Paula Badoza career high of course of two in the world, but currently ranked 100, she's had her trials and tribulations with injuries and at 28 years of age it's really a case of her hopefully staying fit and healthy if she wants to try and find her best tenet yet. For Evie Yovic she's 17 in the world right now and only 18 years of age. So how does this one match up? Because both players have not played each other yet. This is the first meeting between the two and I think the clash of styles is going to be quite good actually for a neutral viewer or even if you're just you're a fan of either player, I think you're in for a pretty entertaining matchup if I'm being honest.

1:03Because from my perspective Badoza is going to try and be a lot more aggressive of course. Evie Yovic is more I think of a she's an aggressive based on it but she can be a counter puncher I would say and then I'm just interested to see how Badoza comes out. Should we play Sastavitch in the first round? One that 17563 11 aces for the defaults. 55% of first I was in 70% of first 0.155% of second 0.17563 win. Either in Indian Wells, she lost Camilla Soria in three sets. Right. So these courts are quicker than in Indian Wells. Obviously it's not altitude so it's not going to bounce us high the courts either. Evie Yovic is as I mentioned someone who can absorb pace pretty well. I would say that's a big plus in a game compact.

2:05Swings of both wings and at times can maybe lack a little bit of power but she's definitely not underpowered by any stretch. Badoza is a player that is definitely not struggling in the power department but her movement is not as good as say Yovic's. Yovic defends very route the corners. Can slice and dice it can add a bit of variety when needed. Just a very impressive mover. Badoza is not at that level of movement I would say but she relies more on being able to plant her feet really crunch through the ball and stay on the front. Defending is just not something that is one of her four days. The service though that's for sure and she's very aggressive or tries to be on return as well. For Evie Yovic her serve is definitely still a work in progress. It's getting better and better but it's not by any means the finished article. Interesting to see how she does get on with Badoza's aggressive returning and also

3:08how is she able to make a lot of return to the Badoza first serve. I'll absorb it and start reading it and I think that will be quite key. I would also say that Yovic's backhand return is better than her forehand. For Badoza I would say it's probably about equal from memory out of seeing her backhand to backhand. I'd actually fancy Yovic. For once forehand I'd fancy Badoza. I think Badoza is going to come out and play a very aggressive brand of tennis and try to take the game away from Evie and if she does then it'll end up being a little bit on Badoza's racket. In terms of a prediction I'm going to go with Evie Yovic in three sets. I think she'll fall straight. So that's my prediction is Yovic in three sets.
