This is your global news update for March 8th. An Israeli strike hit a hotel in central Beirut overnight, killing four people and injuring 10 others, according to Lebanon's health ministry. The building was sheltering folks displaced by fighting in 7 Levinon and Beirut's 7 suburbs. The Israeli defense forces said they carried out a precise strike targeting key commanders in the IRGC's Quds Force Lebanon Corps, who were operating in the area. That's the overseas arm of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This spottles their claim earlier this week of killing the corps's temporary commander. People at the hotel had started leaving the building out of fear of more attacks. Meanwhile, several hours before the strike, Israel launched another wave of attacks on Hezbollah sites in Beirut's Dahia neighborhood. Over and Kuwait civilian buildings to damage from falling debris after the army shot down drones. The media showed a big fire at a tower there, and officials say they're still dealing with hostile aerial targets while urging everyone to follow.
