Stay informed on the world in two minutes or less with global news today. An Israeli air strike slammed into Beirut's Bakura neighborhood right in the city center on Wednesday. A witness reported a massive explosion right after the Israeli military warned people to clear out of a nearby building. This hit came amid a bigger push of Israeli attacks across Lebanon that same day. Strikes targeted other spots in Beirut, plus areas in the south and east, ramping up the fight against Iran, backed Hezbollah, casualties piled up fast from those earlier raids. Lebanon's health ministry said at least six people died and 24 were hurt in Beirut alone. In the south and east, another 14 lost their lives. Israel confirmed it kicked off strikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon. Officials there say the operations aimed to hit back at the group's positions. All this pulls Lebanon further into the wider Middle East conflict. It started when Hezbollah fired on Israel back on March 2nd, claiming revenge for Iran's

top leader. Israel's response has now killed over 800 in Lebanon and driven more than 800,000 from their homes. The Daily News now is grateful to our sponsor for today's episode.
